It has opened up a whole new world for me, and you could say I became obsessed with yarn craft the last few years 😂 I always have several projects going at once. My New Year’s resolution is to work down my current yarn stash and avoid buying new yarn. I have used a lot of Dollar Tree store Premier yarn since I saw your review! The trouble there is running out of the color in a project and not being able to find that color in my 3 local Dollar Tree stores!!! I have learned so much this last year using this affordable and nice yarn without worrying about messing up with expense. I am finally making something out of the Fisherman’s Wool I bought from Lion Brand store 2 years ago. I live north of Sacramento California in a little town surrounded by walnut and almond orchards and rice fields. We barely got an Autumn, with winter cold and rain setting in early October this year. Today we have cloudy but dry weather in the mid 50s F, forecast to continue thru the week.

About reading patterns. I learned quickly how to read patterns by just looking up the different abbreviations that I didn't know. I started crocheting at the age of 3 and I too made lots of belts, bracelets, necklaces and other things from chains. LOL. I saw my mom crochet a lot and would read along with her to learn just a bit, but I never followed a pattern until I was in my 40s when I had a lot of time on my hands in 2020 and wanted to make my kids a blanket each. I learned that if I don't know a term I google and find it. Now that I have learned knitting in the past year, I have learned about the increases, decreases and I am tackling my first sweater. I am learning new terms. It is fun and exciting. Socks are next. LOL
I am watching the replay, which I prefer. I am from Wisconsin and we have yo-yo weather. Sometimes it’s single digit and lately we had some 40’s and 50’s. So nice to walk in that temp.

I am catching the replay and enjoying it very much! I have a Valeri pillow. It works better in a chair without arms though, and, of course, I only have chairs with arms. But if you're on a couch or in bed I think it would work better. The arms of the chair just push it up too high for me and binds my shoulders. Have a good year!

I didn't get to watch live, but I'm so glad I could watch today. Joining from Maryland right before the snow is going to hit! Definitely splitty yarn. I can feel the squeaky hook! I was leaning towards amis, but you're right about the versatility of squares. Wrong yarn weight, I have an easier time doubling or tripling up the yarn rather than adjusting my tension. I already have a hoard of cheap yarn, and dont think I'd change that. 😅 For myself. Since I crochet so much, no one makes anything for me. So if I want it, I have to make it. I'm a detangling volunteer already! As much as I love my hand dyed yarn, if I can only have 1, it's acrylic. Ultra thin thread to see the details. I guess i would have to go with pastel, but really neither.

Hi Elise Rose, I don't get notification pings (on purpose) so I missed the live while it was live - and you actually went live while I was still awake! But, at 5:a.m. in mid-Michigan the wind chill index is 7 degrees (19 degrees without wind). In many countries the term "knitting" covers either using two sticks, or one hook - so I'm only discerning when an American calls crochet by that other word. I look forward to seeing yarn under a microscope!

I was leaning towards amis, but you're right about the versatility of squares.
Wrong yarn weight, I have an easier time doubling or tripling up the yarn rather than adjusting my tension.
I already have a hoard of cheap yarn, and dont think I'd change that. 😅
For myself. Since I crochet so much, no one makes anything for me. So if I want it, I have to make it.

Hi Elise Rose, I don't get notification pings (on purpose) so I missed the live while it was live - and you actually went live while I was still awake! But, at 5:a.m. in mid-Michigan the wind chill index is 7 degrees (19 degrees without wind). In many countries the term "knitting" covers either using two sticks, or one hook - so I'm only discerning when an American calls crochet by that other word. I look forward to seeing yarn under a microscope!
