That's why I personally hate gift exchanges among co-workers. I don't have that kind of money to spend as much as my boss but that doesn't stop other people to "make a good impression". It makes me feel bad.

It's a secret because it's not revealed who got you the gift until the day the gift giving is. The person who receives the gift is supposed to be surprised, not the one giving the gift
In Mexico "secret santa " leaves you small presents from your secret santa during the week or whatever time period that is determined before ,up until the actual gift exchange I'm not sure if they do that in the states

Perhaps but the U.S. version has nine seasons and 170 episodes versus just two seasons and 12 episodes of the original U.K. version. That should show how well the American version was received by audiences. Regardless, Ricky Gervais had a terrific concept that resonated with people on a worldwide scale.
How long a tv show runs for is no basis for deciding how good it is. British tv tends to not be as drawn out as American tv. For instance fawlty towers was 2 series long and is a classic, same for the young ones. The inbetweeners has 3 series, same for Gavin and Stacey. IMO American tv ruins it by dragging it out, like they did with parks&rec, arrested development, supernatural, and the office US. Have your opinion on which office you prefer but don't base that opinion on quantity over quality.
LD ODOM the uk office has 2 seasons because gervais wanted to make the best and leave it on a high and people wanting more. it could have ran and ran if gervais had wanted it too

Too funny. My family does this with extended family and our limit goes from $35 to $50. It is always interesting to see who sticks to that amount and who goes over it.

In the past when I've done secret Santa I've always been the one that receives the present that's WAY under the price range... The price range is always like £10 at least and £20 at most.... One year I received 2 10p lolly pops, and a miniature notepad that was probably around £3:/... The year after I received a small wooden jewellery box, a stone, a button and a crushed Yankee candle melt, I don't even have the stand to put the melt on.... Everyone else in the group got really nice(in the price range) presents and I got something under £5, both times😶 Lucky this year I got as good as I gave and received real technique brushes🤗
