How did it take 75% of the UK, then sequentially 75% of the US over 2 years to realize this guy isn't funny but just flat annoying?
Those of us who knew it from the very start were trying to ask wtf everyone else liked about him. Artie Lange had him worked out the second he appeared on American TV, but Stewart Lee said it best "James Corden was Britain's loss, then America's loss."
He was the mind behind a quality show in the UK, but he's been an disappointment in everything ever since while growing more and more obnoxious

People like him, Ellen DeGeneres & Dwayne Johnson are undeserving of their fame. (I dislike Dwayne Johnson because I got tired of the same old muscles doing the acting. He always plays the same character in every single movie.)
@@lipokyanger7685 I never had any real negative issue with The Rock, but I never really rated him as an actor and my opinion of his acting and professional/media persona in general declines monthly. He does indeed play the same character in every film, and seems to be getting worse at it. His current non movie persona is his worst in my opinion though, he becomes more self congratulatory by the day. He's getting worse than his WWF persona was at kissing his own ass, and atleast back then it was hella entertaining, now the shits just cringe.

I only knew James Corden from his two Doctor Who episodes. And I thought he was a genuinely likable and funny guy in those episodes. His behavior later on is so cringy and inappropriate.

That is more accurate than you may know----I met him when he was in the hit show "History Boys' in UK, then Broadway, and he was the least talented among the young cast--we thought everybody ELSE would go farther, but not him--he was simpy 'the funny fat one', and seemed to desperately need validating.
The Patrick Stuart thing is ridiculous. James was messing with his phone whilst award winners were up on stage. Disrespectful and he then thinks he can't be pulled up on it. Any better person would have just laughed and said 'you caught me'.

If you are an actor and people say they feel awkward around you it's not worlds end if you are really good but if you are an so and so comedian it's honestly an miracle dude even is where he is emitting that energy. When he got the talkshow gig I was pretty baffled since at the time I was quite heavily into all kinds of british panel and that kinda comedy shows and he was never unikable in those like he comes across these days, but he usually was the weakest in the rooms in terms of thinking quick on their feet but loudest laughing and trying to please everybody (other comdians) a bit too much.
In hindsight it just comes of as ungeniuine to make career moves and now that he is where he is he doesnt have to do that.
I think he was probably nice before he became famous and that's how he got his job, but quickly turned into a walking nightmare. Now that he's in the late night hosting gig he'll be protected from the consequences of his awful behaviour as long as his show is profitable, the beauty of capitalism :(

I saw James Corden at a supermarket in West London last year. I told him how lovely it was to meet him in person, but that I didn’t want to be a dick and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Mars Bars in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Corden thinks he can do what Ricky Gervais can do.

I really am not a fan of him for various reasons including some mentioned here, but the Ant and Dec incident actually was pretty tame. Being late because there are things delaying you is a pretty reasonable response, he even shook the guys hand who was saying sorry. Out of all the incidents where he was a tool, this really wasn't bad.
I can't 'hate' a celebrity until they do something vile. I just find his over-the-top laughter to be the same as a bunch of high school girls all laughing at something...but none of them know what they're laughing at. My only request is STOP PUTTING HIM IN MUSICALS!!! It'd be different if there was a shortage on musical actors but there are plenty around.

I agree! I watched the whole thing waiting for him to snap but he was actually quite gracious... obviously irritated, but come on, that's reasonable! He didn't have a "do you know who I am" moment, he literally just tells the guy look my face is on the building, can you let me through? And when the delivery guy says he recognizes him, James is annoyed but he even gives him a handshake. I don't see the problem with that one?
