Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your portraits. When I started practicing on my own it felt more authentic as I discover my own style. I'm a hands on learner so watching a tutorial and then practicing on my own is best for me. Sometimes I go back and review a tutorial and fine tune another version is another way I practice. Your teaching style has been so good for me and I often hear myself thinking "I don't love it but I'm going to go with it" and am often surprised at the outcome!
You are so right, and it goes for everything in life you want to grow in. I have started recently your Watercolor made simple course and practicing is becoming more and more fun and make me curious and eager to learn more. Practicing teaches me about me too and helps to overcome the obstacles I create for myself like in patience and perfectionism. I am so grateful and happy to have started this. I am suffering from Long-covid, fibromyalgy and ME/CFS and this is something I can do, even if for a short time and not every day but that does not matter, I am creating and that feels great 🤗🥰
Yes, to the podcast, please! I love all the good art stuff you're doing Nicki. Congrats on the W&N gigs! I'm happy to join you for an interview on the pod! LMK and I'll send a proper pitch. xo
I absolutely love your style and inspiring attitude! I’ve taken your watercolours made simple course online and learned so much 👩🎨. I’m now working through the sketchbook made simple and have the advanced watercolours made simple on my wish list.
Love the podcasts you did and would love some new ones ❤ Thank you for this video. I’m trying to find more time to practice and you have me motivated to schedule 20 minutes a day……even on a busy day, I can find 20 minutes 😊
That makes me so happy to read your takeaways from this one! Thank you for sharing, it really only does take 20 minutes but daily is the key. Keep me posted!!
I’ve been painting with your courses since I bought all your courses. I love doing it every day. Thank you for sharing your skills and experience! I want to learn more.
I don’t know when I subscribed to your channel, Nicki, but I’m so happy to see this video and I’m going to make it my business to pay more attention. ❤Thank you!
Thank you so much for these tips, and reminders. Makes me feel hopeful, putting the time in and consistency is key. I have listened to your podcasts, some more than once. Would love to hear more. Would you consider implementing your own 100 day challenge for sketching and watercolour? This would be very motivational. Have a beautiful day!
I am hoping to make more time for podcast episodes and they will most likely live here on TH-cam. If you have suggestions for topics you'd like me to chat about let me know Beths! Big hugs.
You are so right! Time to stop the rabbit hole of the internet and use that time for practice. Definitely a wake up call. The timer is such a good idea.
@@lifeidesign when gyms shut down a went totally home based work outs. Back to my roots (Jane Fonda workout dvd). Lol, when our boys were babies. Not that workout anymore. 😂 I love this. My am commute is from the bedroom to my Pilates mat. My everyday is “Trifecta Pilates” and Miranda Edmond-white “essentrics tv”. No snowstorm interruptions. Lol.
1st of all, Nicki, you have such a wonderful personality and voice, that's my oppinion based on this single video :) Alot of the stuff u said really clicked with me, you said it in such a passionate empathic way and meaningful way. For example I resonate with the message u gave about reading alot of tutorials, books, watching yt videos and other instructions, I myself was, still am a geek who want's to learn all that is possible before making a move, which was terribly detrimental to my art learning process for a long time, I'm ok now, trying to find balance between learning new things and giving myself time to practice and implement them so they get into my "muscle memory" :) thank you once again.
Just wondering, do you have videos that show how to digitalize .. I think that’s spelled wrong lol . How to digitalize your art? I would love to learn that so I could make reprints and make cards out of my art.💗 or is that something different?
