HOTD is just awesome. Matt smith is just phenomenal too.
Matt smith played Daemon so well. His body language spoke for Daemon's character, he didn't even need to use expressions, he was naturally born to terrorize the person's soul

Nymeria was the name of Arya's Direwolf. Also the name of one of Oberyns daughters. Both were named after a fierce warrior woman who left Essos and settled it Dorne .
And if we are fortunate we will eventually get a television series based on Nymeria, her people and their travels.

It's pretty much agreed that House Targaryen was at its peak under the rule of King Jaehaerys, since they had the most dragons and an incredibly stable realm, which prospered during that time

That large building at the beginning where Syrax landed was the dragon pit. The same place where Jon, Dani, Cersei and everyone else met up at in the season 7 finale of GOT
The effects for the forced Caesarean section were so convincing. I was flinching the entire time watching that. Makes you glad for how childbirth is handled in the modern times.

The issue with the birth that a lot of people seem to miss, is that it wasnt either the mother OR the baby, it was literally they either try to save the baby, OR they both die anyways. It still one of those brutal scenes that gives me chills and that I cant even rewatch easily, one of the best and worst moments in this entire messed up, bloody and gory show.
I mean they could have both lived which is what he meant by "we leave it to the gods", not with the gods but with the right technique and a little help from nature but yeah a breech baby is not the automatic death sentence like they made it seem

Every time Viserys tells the prophecy to his daughter Rhaenyra, Daenerys' theme "Breaker of Chains" plays in the background only confirms that she is the princess that was promised.
So many people miss that
You're in every reaction telling the same boring and inaccurate Targaryen propaganda. Daenerys didn't do shit against the Long Night - Arya killed the Night King. Every one of the points of Aegon's prophecy isn't true by the time the Others are stopped in the showverse lol There's no prince that was promised in the show canon, if anything Arya was.

Daemon's dragon, Caraxes, aka The Bloodwyrm, is mutated in that he is longer and more snake-like than other dragons. He also has a very distinctive sound, a high-pitchedscreech, more than a roar. And he has a temperament much like that of his rider, volatile and fierce.
It is said that Caraxes sings love songs to Syrax, Rhaenyra's dragon, when the coil together in the Dragonmont.

I didn't. Hated every character or found them boring as hell. Aemond was somewhat interesting, but that was about it. Everyone else was strange af.
This is based off of “Fire & Blood” which tells the story of the Targaryen dynasty. It’s actually a pretty great book if you’re interested in it
I got CHILLS when Daenerys' theme "breaker of chains" started playing after Viserys mentioned "the song of ice and fire"!!! They literally confirmed that she is the prince that was promised 😪❤ I truly hope that GRRM releases the books soon

The prince that was promise CANNOT be Rhaenyra. It has to be someone in the modern day cause white walkers havent striked yet (and they dont at this point). Rhaenyra doesnt defeat them. I am sure Azor Ahai is Daenerys... she "took a sword from the flames" (the Dragons) and she fullfills everything we know about the profecy.

Caraxes the Blood Wyrm is my favorite dragon in this show. He’s what a dragon is supposed to look like, serpentine, red, demonic.

This was a breath of fresh air! Love the enthusiasm. Yes, last time you saw that knife it was in Arya's hands. Nice touch of how the citizens of Kings Landing don't even look up when a dragon files over their heads. To them, it is a normal occurrence, much like how we ignore jets going over our heads
I remember feeling somewhat skeptical of the possibility of another show based on a GRRM book being as good or better than the first few seasons of GOT. Most of the fandom swore to never watch a prequel show after the final season of GOT...The first episode of HOTD was enough to pull me back in and the rest of the season did not disappoint. Season 2 is going to be 🔥, literally ❤
One of the things Daemon was known for was the development of the City Watch into a formidable group. He provided them with decent weapons that he paid for himself, and he gave them the gold cloaks that became their trademark look.
The fact that he uses subtitles shows this guy is smarter than a lot of people who react to this show
Now, mine and others’ obsession is trying to figure out how that dagger, originally known as the Cat’s Paw Dagger, went from Viserys I to Bran’s would-be cutthroat a là Littlefinger.
We don't actually know what name might have been given to the dagger (if it had a name at all)... in GoT, it was commonly referred to the "Cat's Paw Dagger" because it was used by the "Cat's Paw" (hired assassin) when trying to kill Bran. It's a dagger that was passed down from king to king, much like the large sword "Blackfyre" was, that we see occasionally with both Jaharys and Viserys.
I love the ironic timing of him saying "Otto is my fav character" and then immediatly after he pimps out his daughter
I mean every character does it. Corlys did it with his daughter, Daemon does it with both his daughters by marrying them to Rhaenyra's sons. Viserys does it to Rhaenyra it's just the way of the world
easily my favorite season 1 of a show; can’t wait for season 2 !!!

This show definitely gets better with each episode. Matt Smith is amazing as Damon! The birthing scene is brutal. I remember yelling "Knock her out!"
I had the same experience of not remembering the HOTD spoilers; the information didn't register or attach itself to a known character, so I went into HOTD spoiler free despite having watched GOT countless times. But THEN I watched a GOT reaction after I had faces for names in HOTD, and did get a pretty major spoiler for later seasons 😭
You mentioned the well trained dragons. Keep in mind, during this period, there was a comprehensive best practice for dragon rearing, taming, and training, which is a framework Dany never has in raising her dragons later on.
The actor that plays Otto also played Luna's dad in HP:DH1

I'm so happy you started uploading this so quickly after GoT! It's gonna be amazing to rewatch this with you. I love how they managed to get the GoT feeling into this but at the same time it feels different and unique. Not easy to do.

What I think is interesting that neither show ever touched upon is when Daemon was given command of the City Watch, there was no organization and they had very little training, so he equipped every one of them with a sword and dagger and some decent armor and gave each a gold cloak, which is where they get the name “Gold Cloaks” that’s persisted to present day. Daemon is also called “Lord Fleabottom” because he was so frequently seen there himself with his men cleaning up the crime in the city. Knowing this you can see why they’re so loyal to him throughout the story
The inclusion of Rhaenyra in the books was already in the later parts so the show didn't mention her being the first Queen Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms but technically, she was. And the mention of The Song of Ice and Fire was something the author wanted to add since it wasn't explicitly mentioned in the books. That prophecy most definitely points to Daenerys.
Yes, this was absolutely the peak of targaryen power. Ill not spoil things but ill try my best to answer any questions you have throughout the series, i cannot recomend fire and blood enough, the book is fantastic and the ending of the first season is the end of a chapter in the book so if you only wanna read whats been shown on screen it stops at convenient points :)
1.) "Do they know they did these crimes" yes
2.) "Oh my god this guy is evil" i thought this too but, having rewatched it a few times because its never not amazing to me, lord hand otto hightower started this round of insults so he kinda had it coming
3.) Viserys wasnt choosing between baelon and aemma. His choice was save baelon or lose both. I still struggle to watch the scene even though ive watched the show 4 times and have watched countless reactions, its so horrific
4.) "Ottos my favourite, i like this guy" *2 seconds later he sends his daughter to seduce the king while in one of her recently deceased mothers dresses*
5.) Yeah, dont go back and watch episodes of game of thrones with house of the dragon spoilers, one of the episodes in season 3 or 4 spoils a huge moment towards the end of the show
6.) "What year did the doom hit" the doom of valyria was about 102 years before aegons conquest, it is now the 112th year since the conquest
7.) Your thoughts on the future of the show are incredibly interesting and i cant wait to see how they change as more happens and gets revealed

It did start as emotional comfort. But over time it became somethng more. The initial plan at least is to support him at his darkest hours, so emotional comfort is actually correct to predict here.

Yup Syrax is one of the calmest and well tamed dragon. But she is like a princess she loves getting pampered.😂 She loves getting spoon feed and hate hunting and if i am not mistaken she is also one of the swiftest she can easily outrace Caraxes at very young age.
Imagine how you feel, when you waited 4 years to see the king's landing and that music is playing in the background in the first scene.

Daemons one good quality is that he is loyal and loves his brother. Sadly the people on the council never trust him and so neither does the king

Dance of the dragons is basically the time in which most of the Targaryens turned against each other splitting into different sects of houses. Also in the first shot of the dragon flying over kings landing you could see the old Dragon pit where they selected the new King at the end of GOT but its still intact and not destroyed, little info i thought you'd like "Sir Fusion of The TV Watch".

The Doom occurred roughly 110 years before Aegon and his sisters conquered Westeros. Viserys is the 5th Targaryen monarch, and its roughly 100 years after the Conquest.
I'm not saying Daemon is a good guy but he can't be called evil for the conversation about wives in the small council meeting. Otto was the one who brought up Daemon's wife first. What business is it of Otto if Daemon is spending time with his wife or not? He shouldn't dish it out if he can't take it.
Viserys and Aemma were first cousins. Remember Targaryens practiced incest to maintain their dragon riding blood. Viserys' parents were brother and sister and Rhaenys' parents were nephew and aunt. Their grandparents (Rhaenys, Viserys, Aemma and Daemon are all first cousins) are King Jaeaherys and Queen Alysanne (we saw Jaehaerys in the first scene). Jaehaerys and Alysanne were brother and sister too.
Jaehaerys outlived all his children (he had three sons and six daughters. All, including his wife Alysanne, died in his lifetime from war, childbirth and illness. Well, except two but one daughter ran off to Essos and was never heard of again and the third son became a maester so had no children and presumably died later).
Also, Aemma was dying regardless. So the choices were leave it to the Gods and let both die or save the child. Viserys was right in his choice but wrong in failing to tell Aemma.

They definitely outdid themselves with this one I love the small details like I personally prefer the dragon saddles it makes way more sense, Caraxes is my favorite dragon he’s supposed to be deformed since he has the long slender body which makes his super agile, I love his weird roar lol and he’s the most unpredictable dragon fits so well with Matt Smith character of Damon just so bad ass.

you watch and enjoy and avoid spoilers, just know that there is no evil or good characters bc all of characters are grey and capable of both great good and evil and they are almost realistic, this is what makes the show interesting alongside the great plot and story, there is so much great characters you have not seen yet and you will be introduced to.
hotd is based on a book thats already finished so there will be spoilers online. its very fun to see people watch it and having predictions knowing how it ends lol. also if ramin djawadi didnt do the music there would have been riots

I heard a reactor a while back mention that it was interesting that from an aerial view the jousting arena is the shape of a vagina, perhaps suggesting that child birth is a violent and potentially deadly battle that women have to endure in that time.

Viserys, the seer, was right...to the misery of all involved.
King Viserys wife Aemma was going to die no matter what. The maester said that the choice was to save the babe OR lose them BOTH. Most reactors miss that and think he had to chose between his wife and the baby
