I honestly feel that's why Daemon has never had to give a command. They are equals that are normally thinking the same thing.
Corlys is such a badass, it's fitting he has the best looking armor in the show, my jaw dropped seeing Velaryon armor on screen for the first time. The fish scale mail, sea shell shaped helmet and he actually fights with a helmet on, that's an achievement on its own, we never see that for the main cast.
Caraxes is indeed the coolest dragon ever. Also noticed when Daemon was shot with arrow in starting of episode, Caraxes also felt his pain and flied off.

This episode made made me fall in love with Caraxes. It shows his true nature as a creature who loves to burn, a dragon most true to his nature. Also, Daemon is my favorite character.
You hit it on the money in the edit, but you missed an important detail: Daemon also didn’t want Viserys taking all the credit for the Stepstones, when he’s been the one battling the Triarchy for the past 3 years (Aegon II is 2; Alicent’s 9 month pregnancy; and he was presumably conceived at the end of spring).
As Corlys said in ep 2 in last scene, they as "seconds sons" have to make their own worth, and that's the whole reason they went to battle the crab feeder, they want to be seen as the heroes, and receiving help from the king, losing the credit for the winning would make their 2 - 3 years of effort worthless, so Daemon's reaction
When I first saw Arya's white horse it reminded me of Chavez's Spirit Horse from Young Guns II. When Arya rode away, I felt there was a chance she was riding into the after life after getting killed during Drogon's attack
Lady Johanna Swann was the daughter of the head of one of the Stormlands Houses; the ship she was on was looted by pirates and she was sold off to a brothel in Lys.... and in time became so powerful that she ended up practically ruling Lys in all but name. Not that we're likely to see any of this, but it's nice that they included this little tidbit in the show :)
I love so much the way this show decides what to show and what not to. Always good to remember in the opening scene of the show rhaenyra says “the only thing that could tear the house of dragons apart is itself” we don’t see Damon kill the crab feeder because in the big picture they were not a threat. The show really uses this symbolism a lot and it’s masterfully done!

For the hart, it symbolises that Rhaenyra is the true heir. It showed itself to her. She didn't have to chase or hunt it, and she let it go. It was a very beautiful moment.

Daemon's sword Dark Sister is extremely light and efficient and was actually made specifically for the hands of Queen Visenya Targaryen, who was well-known to be a great warrior. Daemon easily slicing those men off makes a lot of sense considering what Dark Sister can do.
There's a lot of time jumps in the first season because they need pieces out of a long bit of time to give you the proper background before the Dance of Dragons begins in earnest next season (I think? Just a guess on my part.) They couldn't drag out several years worth of time, so they did time jumps and jumped past the unimportant stuff.

Rhaenyras frustration and attitude are perfectly understandable, but her smug and entitled behavior, and the habit of antagonizing the great houses and other powerful lords and ladies, will come back to bite her one day.
Three kills this episode important about the characters : 1. Viserys only killed for his status as king, missed a few times. Didn’t get blood on him, just a very “had to for everyone” kill. Just a very forced one. 2. Rhaenyra - killed for her own protection and also using it as a way to let out her anger and pain. And 3. Daemon - wanted the kill as revenge and a way to prove a point. Enjoying it and taking power.
Im pretty sure the reason Vaemond said that Daemon was the reason they are losing was because of Viserys and Daemons falling out, could be wrong though, another explanation might be Daemons need to seek glory which could be putting the rest of the Velaryon forces at risk

we need the time jumps because otherwise the story will be difficult to understand for non book readers, i wont say how much time there is between episode 1 and 10 but its definitely some years
His biggest mistake was not crowning Rhaenyra before his death. He knew he was sick. When he felt himself losing his strength he should have realized it was time to handover the realm to a full-bodied monarch that can handle things better. Viserys never controlled events he just trusted that things will proceed as he wished after his death. It was really naive
Otto's suggestion isn't that mad in this circumstance. Both Rhaenyra and Aegon had a valid claim to the throne, one through kings' word and the other through tradition and precedent - it isn't mad to unite them. Obviously there's a risk of Rhaenyra not having kids until then - but then, again, thats why Alicent's children exist lol And anyway they both fucked and were fucking like rabbits by the time Aegon was having bastards, so the idea would've been useful and with good results.
Get used to the time jumps, the whole season time jumps episode to episode then recasts main characters half way through, but the dance takes place over 2 years and we have another 2-3 season to come so big time jumps should be over now
Whilst there’s no doubt Otto wants Aegon named as heir to see his own blood on the throne. He still raises valid points about a woman stepping over a firstborn son to ascend the throne. Westeros excepting Dorne has never enacted equal gender succession. At this point Dorne is independent. Whilst Dorne proves that it’s possible. Given that it’s new to Westeros as a whole mostly and unknown, you have to see the bigger picture in a sister becoming queen over her brother. It opens the doors to succession battles between siblings all over Westeros. Political marriages to first born daughters and now heirs if gender equality has been enacted. Her accession brings with it chaos, namely because Viserys hasn’t structured the equal gender succession. He’s essentially changed the law, but hasn’t really - he’s not written or drafted any legislation or supporting laws. Otto dances around that subject, but people tend to just see his ambition.
In the books, Aegon II is way better. He's a drunken but not a whore at least like his elder sister. Viserys was a fool not naming Aegon. He saw a dream, then after 10 years he suddenly didn't care. Rhaenyra and Aegon just doesn't fit to be monarchs.

Three kills this episode important about the characters : 1. Viserys only killed for his status as king, missed a few times. Didn’t get blood on him, just a very “had to for everyone” kill. Just a very forced one. 2. Rhaenyra - killed for her own protection and also using it as a way to let out her anger and pain. And 3. Daemon - wanted the kill as revenge and a way to prove a point. Enjoying it and taking power.
Im pretty sure the reason Vaemond said that Daemon was the reason they are losing was because of Viserys and Daemons falling out, could be wrong though, another explanation might be Daemons need to seek glory which could be putting the rest of the Velaryon forces at risk

In terms of where I stand, i do believe viserys shouldve named aegon heir but i accept his decision to name rhaenyra his heir
we need the time jumps because otherwise the story will be difficult to understand for non book readers, i wont say how much time there is between episode 1 and 10 but its definitely some years
viserys only ever affirms rhaenyra’s claim in private or in one-on-one conversations, never before an proper, vast audience
His biggest mistake was not crowning Rhaenyra before his death. He knew he was sick. When he felt himself losing his strength he should have realized it was time to handover the realm to a full-bodied monarch that can handle things better. Viserys never controlled events he just trusted that things will proceed as he wished after his death. It was really naive

Otto's suggestion isn't that mad in this circumstance. Both Rhaenyra and Aegon had a valid claim to the throne, one through kings' word and the other through tradition and precedent - it isn't mad to unite them. Obviously there's a risk of Rhaenyra not having kids until then - but then, again, thats why Alicent's children exist lol And anyway they both fucked and were fucking like rabbits by the time Aegon was having bastards, so the idea would've been useful and with good results.

Get used to the time jumps, the whole season time jumps episode to episode then recasts main characters half way through, but the dance takes place over 2 years and we have another 2-3 season to come so big time jumps should be over now

Whilst there’s no doubt Otto wants Aegon named as heir to see his own blood on the throne. He still raises valid points about a woman stepping over a firstborn son to ascend the throne. Westeros excepting Dorne has never enacted equal gender succession. At this point Dorne is independent. Whilst Dorne proves that it’s possible. Given that it’s new to Westeros as a whole mostly and unknown, you have to see the bigger picture in a sister becoming queen over her brother. It opens the doors to succession battles between siblings all over Westeros. Political marriages to first born daughters and now heirs if gender equality has been enacted. Her accession brings with it chaos, namely because Viserys hasn’t structured the equal gender succession. He’s essentially changed the law, but hasn’t really - he’s not written or drafted any legislation or supporting laws. Otto dances around that subject, but people tend to just see his ambition.
I think Daemon has the Worst Dragon, it's Neck is too Long for battle's with other Dragons. 👍

In the books, Aegon II is way better. He's a drunken but not a whore at least like his elder sister. Viserys was a fool not naming Aegon. He saw a dream, then after 10 years he suddenly didn't care. Rhaenyra and Aegon just doesn't fit to be monarchs.
