Hey man I have two questions if you don’t mind! 1 - at what levels of input do you usually record at? Instruments and vocals! 2 - what are the vocal chain used on this track? Can you briefly explain what effects and approach did you used?
I love your channel, I am learning alot lol. I dont play guitar irl but the ideas you sharing really helps a lot. Hope I can see you do a song in style of Molchat Doma or like some retro style postpunk :D
It’s used to clean up and shape your vocals in a mix. A basic vocal chain is comprised of compression and EQ. You can also add some saturation for warmth and texture and even some effects like reverb or delay-Depending on the vision or production of your song.
such a cool vibe i get from this video! Always Banana Labs really knows how to surprise Do you usually record with one guitar only or do you experiment different tones from different guitar styles ? Hambuckers, single coils, p-90s or those gretch stype pickups thx
Thank you! Hmm, that’s a good question. I would say a Fender Stratocaster can me more versatile. But if you want something more on the bright/almost jangly side, then a Danelectro guitar would be a good fit. I use both!
@@bananalabs thank you for the recommendation! I was looking at a squire jazzmaster, I know you said fender but I’m on a bit of a budget, have you messed around with squire at all?
Those are great!! Yes I’ve owned a few squires. And to be honest, I’d prefer a squire over an American made- I used to work for Fender and the quality in the Squires are just as good as an American made. The only difference is the name pretty much 🤫😉
@@bananalabs that’s good to hear, I’ve been pretty obsessed with the way they look and I actually took up the courage to go try one out yesterday and I really liked it, I should be getting one soon and I’m going to watch more of your videos for inspiration!
Those vocals sounded really good. We need a video on that if you haven’t already
Amazing how that comes together! Love the vocals!
Definitely giving big beach fossils vibes
Can you make a video how you got those exact vocals
yes !!
Would like to see this particular effects chain.
In the meantime there is this: th-cam.com/video/6npXl6fqKu4/w-d-xo.html
This was sick! I could also see this fitting great in an Interpol / post-punk type track.
I was thinking the same! Thanks for watching!

Thanks, Rodrigo! Right now I’ve been obsessed with the Danelectro since I just got it. But yeah sometimes I’ll change it up
👏
Great video. Just thinking about getting an electric guitar to mess around and make dream pop songs, any guitar you would recommend?

If you lived in Maine I'd be trying to start a band with you.
Yo, I live in Maine and am super interested in this type of music.
