We had to do the 2021's as we don't get longrow 18 locally. Interesting on the 2022 longrow, the 2022 springbank 18 was a bit "weak" out the gate but keeps getting better as it opens up.
Very timely, my local has one for me but at $300. I thought retail is lower than that - my shop says the bottle cost him $220 so who knows. This sounds like a great bottle. Just got the 10 Year Sherry Wood PX, looking forward to trying that one.
The cost state to state is just so wild on these with one importer and distributors doing whatever they want, these can be wild. 300 is true MSRP for Kentucky as multiple shops did 300. Unlike some others where it's clear a few marked up. But I know some states got it for 260-270.
Just yesterday I bought this year’s releases of 12 and 18. Went into your recent videos to find the reviews, wondering what you guys think about them. Watched your review of the 12CS. And today I get a notification about the 18. What a timing haha. I’m half way through the bottle of last year’s 18, which wasn’t that great at the beginning, but it oxidized and I enjoy it a lot now. Psyched to open this one and compare. Anyways, thanks for your videos! It often feels like your channel is a companion of my whisky purchases lol
Nice review guys, I recently found this bottle for $225 and am quite happy to have it for that price. Agree with all your points and am now nostalgic for the days when this would have been considered too expensive for a Springer 18. This might be my favorite rendition of this classic that I've tried though I need to taste it against the 100% ex-bourbon edition.
After listening to your review, was lucky enough to find a bottle for $299.00 plus tax ad shipping! Its a lot to pay but at the same time hard to come by. I am a big fan of all things Springbank and your review - especially that high score from Dustin - convinced me to look not expecting to find one. Just pulled the trigger and so should get it by the end of the week (fingers crossed). Thanks again...
@@topshelfdustin3060 my bottle of the 2023 18 yo was just delivered - relieved to see the 2023 date stamp confirm it was really the 2023 (was hoping it wasn't the 2022)!
I mean a 92 from me vs a 90 is night and day. And mike was even further apart. This is great springbank with bold casks. That was EPIC springbank with EPIC casks.
Miss the days when you could find these on shelves for under $200
Awesome review. I’m with Dustin on this one. Well worth $300 +. My bottle is disappearing quickly.
Only been able to buy the 15 YO twice in the last 5 years...and love that bottle. This 18 sounds even nicer!
The Longrow 18 from 2022 smoked the Springbank 18 2022. Interested in the 2023 considering the blend.

With you on last years. It wasn't nearly as good out the gate as it is now.

225 is a steal!
Always love watching your springbank reviews. Staying in Glasgow has its perks.
Love all things springbank.
Glasgow hoarding all of the Springbank?

That's awesome man. I'm a huge fan of this one, mike I think was off put by the rum notes. But I'm in love.

Excellent review! How does this compare to your recent review of the Boutique-y Springbank?

@@topshelfdustin3060 thanks for the reply fellas. I gotta get my hands on one of these epic indy SBs!
Bros! I got the 2023 bottle and I'm getting a wet newspaper/moldy note on the finish. Is it just me or you're getting it too?
To some, neck pours can be off-putting at times, or should I say, really funky, lol. Give it time.
That's likely the note I was talking about being kinda wood water that comes through. It's one of those Springbank and sherry cask notes that I like.
Dustin, ‘Sashay’ is Mike’s word 😂
Awesome review. Just curious what is the bottle code on this one?
the date is 11.05.23,, don't have the bottle on hand for the code but that should narrow it down .
