Translation: The old lady had reserved a seat for yesterday's train but chose to ride today. As all seats were taken, the attendant requested her to move to the un-reserved seat section. But since the old lady would be deboarding at the next station, she was allowed to sit in the empty seat till her stop.
Glad you got to ride the Shinkansen! But the delay scares me since I will be there soon and have a pretty tight schedule>

Once upon a time, due to a station staff's mistake, I was given a ticket for a day other than the one I had requested, and I sat in a reserved seat without realizing it.The memory of that moment comes back to me and I am embarrassed.
