I love how close your post-analysis always puts the fighters in Smash Bracket and Crossover Colosseum, gives a lot of respect to both of the characters and makes it feel more fair and enjoyable to watch for everyone. That animation was also incredible, and the pre-analysis was also edited very nicely. Excellent work as always, one of your best videos yet!

The fact that they have a better understanding of Archie Sonic here compared to Death Battle is just so respectable.
@@e1iteyoshi998 They lowballed the shit out of Archie sonic in this fight and actually made things up about the story. Like they played off the fate thing that sonic has as something that was meant to be literal. But in DB they actually bring up that it’s part of the story that fate bends to sonic. Also the lowballing of both characters shows that they really should have waited until they did complete research on these characters. Instead we got a star level Paper Mario that somehow is stronger than Archie sonic. And Archie sonic is on panel rewriting the entire multiverse. Also they say that Archie is split into 3 different versions even though they are still the same character. Like the panel that they show for the edgy sonic literally confirms that he is the same sonic as the OG sonic. They didn’t have any actual understanding on Archie sonic and it’s only a way for people to misunderstand the character. Hell Base Archie sonic has better feats than what they gave paper Mario in this. Keep in mind they also lowballed Paper Mario and proved they misunderstood Mario by bringing up dimentio and not understanding that his character is literally bare minimum universal. The only thing that they focus on more is there personality which were on point for the most part. Yeah say what you will about DB but they handled Archie Sonic much better.

Mario is Honestly having the Worst luck (Despite that stat when fully leveled up that makes him dodge attacks 97% of the time i think). He gets blasted through a building and the worst beating and eventually sent to a Prison Dimension on his BIRTHDAY. Hopefully he will find a way out.

That was such a wacky battle, it felt so unreal towards the end. Loved every part of this. Hope Crossover Coliseum grows just as much as the Smash Bracket.

This was really well done. Archie had way more history behind him than I ever thought he would, and that ending clash was hype as hell. Really looking forward to the next time!
You know, one thing I would have to give the most props to is the Voice actor for Sonic. Damn, it sounds so good and I could tell he went for a more "Jason Griffth" soundling voice for Super and Ultra Sonic.

Yeah, with some other versus series they sometimes ignore personalities and what the character would actually do for the sake of a death
Holy cow, this series is back with a BANG! It's not perfect but the amount of effort and passion from everyone working on it really shows! From the editing and how in depth the analysis is, to the animation having great use of Paper Mario's powers (albeit limited) as well as great visuals, a solid track, and Sonic's speed and voice acting being well executed (though I would've liked just as much use of his powers as Mario), to the post analysis covering not just stats but the characters' personality and tactics. Overall a solid 8/10. If it was a season finale it would've been even better, and definitely outdid Sephiroth vs Bill by a fair bit. Great job, and looking forward to the next episode.

BUT FAIR! I felt both characters were done extremely well, I love the dude who narrates this, and the animation is great!
Genuinely surprised some things for Archie weren't mentioned that tilted the fight even more in his favor, like the Cosmic Interstate speed feats, the billion ring aura that would've protected him from transmutations, the various multiversal level opponents, the dismissal of Fate Manip would probably drive a lot of people crazy, and Ultra Sonic's matter manip was scarecly touched on, etc etc. I think the fight is a lot less fair than it was depicted here, but regardless, the animation came out really fun and enjoyable, the writing for the analysis sections are also paced decently as well, your series' are definitely improving as time goes on.
This is something I was curious about: does Sonic have any other instant kill moves aside from the Zone of Silence?

@@DreamcastGenesai As mentioned in the video, wish granting has its limitations, but defeating Mario is way less than rewriting the universe, so it's a bit grey. I can see how the others would work though.

@@rickalbuquerque595 Yeah, that statement was a bit faulty because Wish Granting using Chaos Energy has basically always worked within Archie. The only "limitations" it has is it isn't really within Sonic's character to use it
This is such an amazing episode! You’ve definitely improved A LOT on editing and it was fun to watch the analysis on both characters and the animations was FANTASTIC, you do not know how satisfied I am with this episode!
This may be one of the best premieres in all of Vs show history. I loved how wacky and insane the fight got, and the gradual progression of the fight felt so right. I can't wait to see what the rest of Crossover Colosseum looks like!
This isn't the premiere, Sephiroth vs Bill Cipher was, it was just on the Smash Bracket channel and they just changed the name to avoid the WWE coming after them.

From the way that you proved that this was way closer than most thaught, from the amazing animation and different use of their abilities. Well he kind of didn’t prove it was way closer than people thought in my opinion he kind of had to grasp as straws to even mean this battle fair once he got sonic to 390 billion times faster than light and Mario to barely lightning speed it was over at that point mario could literally never touch sonic ever and when he goes super form it was definitely over at that point cuz his speed in super sonic literally can not be measured this was a slaughter

So basically a fat plumber made out of paper completely destroys a blue mutant hedgehog's lunch, but then he gets sent to a dimension were only darkness awaits. And to make it worse, it was paperboi's BIRTHDAY.

Can I just say that I enjoyed this more than I thought I would? It's really nice seeing a fight like this where the outcome isn't solely decided by stats alone. This is some good work, especially for a small channel like this one!
That was such an amazing fight. I think this is the first VS show that actually made Sonic have personality and seem like a real character. All of that time spent editing paid off a ton, great job.

An absolutely stellar battle! The usage of arsenals, choreography, amazing animation and just fun of this fight is fantastic with some beautiful music. I genuinely learned so much more about Paper Mario and Archie Sonic, Paper Mario especially had like WAAAAAY more stuff then I could possibly imagine. I loved Archie Sonics voice and character portrayal it was perfect and genuinely sounds damn near like Jason Griffith, especially the “you’re gonna have to go faster than that!” Line because it’s just gives such werehog energy and I love it. This channel is honestly something that can rival and definitely surpass that of DEATH BATTLE! (and I love death battle!) This is genuinely leaps and bounds above Archie Sonic Vs Wally West. A beautifully well crafted battle, fantastic music, an informative and fun analysis and post analysis, and it was just an absolute joy to watch! 10/10!

While I mostly agree with most of your statement I'm still saying death battle did Abit better because they actually include the feats that really make him a powerful opponent not only in his forms,but in his base as well and you gotta admit that "Don't mess with the hog's dogs!" Is a better line but either way loved this video

I'm genuinely impressed with how good this came out. It has some issues and I feel like this could have gone a little greater in scale but its very good.

The amount of effort you guys put into these videos is amazing. The animation and choice of character design was great. I think that the choice of technique for each character was completely accurate and that the personality of each character was perfectly representing the way that they fought. Bravo.
The fight animation was great, though the highlight for me was Sonic's puns, so cheesy yet still hilarious. I loved how you kept Sonic punning and cracking jokes for a lot of the fight, too many fight animations on TH-cam tend to focus on combat only and don't really show the combatants personalities that much and how they would play into a fight.
This was an amazing episode, you guys. It had a great and thorough analysis, and the fight was top notch. Also props to the voice acting for Sonic, because when he said “You’re gonna have to go faster than that” it sounded exactly like Jason Griffith

Now this is how you analyze characters. Death battle still has a long way to go but they kept messing up sonic and Goku and Superman and many more. But we are all human and it’s ok to make mistakes. Also deathbattle never added Sonic and Mario’s personalities when doing their videos, they only look at stats. But as I said they are learning from these mistakes and have been a joy to watch.
Sonic's voice is an amazing interpretation of jason Griffith.

Regular mario did the events of paper mario, ttyd, super paper mario and it just been written down in a story book which so happen to retell it in paper form if that makes sense (if you want sources) there's alot of references and easter eggs and mentions that paper mario experience the life of regular mario. And a simple answer is. It been written down it can't exist if the story never happened
I like how they mixed the personality’s like at the beginning sonics personality was gag sonic when he was in super he was like try hard sonic and at the end he was like I forgot the name of the final stage

The analysis was done fine enough for me. However, I don't like the idea of Mario surviving the Void in base form. Mario supposedly actually getting hit by it happened off screen, so Tippi could've very well teleported the heroes to safety like when Mario was suffocating in outer space without a helmet. Not that Mario can't have those stats though, since he can be empowered by the Pure Hearts (although he didn't keep them), which are the counter to the Chaos Heart.

Paper Mario could escape the zone of silence easily by just flipping out into another dimension. I'm pretty sure he was going easy on archie sonic, or just decided to let him win at the last minute. He's a nice guy so it's something he would do.

I never imagined Paper Mario would be this big of a threat for Archie Sonic. I don't like comparing this series to Death Battle but I really like the use of personality for Archie Sonic here vs how DB did their Archie Sonic video. It really shows how Serious Archie Sonic is when he comes out with how quickly he takes Paper Mario out of the fight. The next fight is going to be a greedy battle for sure. I'm super excited for whenever it comes out.
Tbh this video downplayed archie sonic due to not mentioning many super huge feats. Some of which would end the fight in an instant, which i guess is why they left it out in the first place. Still a really great video though

You really put a lot of dedication on the analysis and battle. The music choice and puns were done with a lot of care. I think the explanation at the end could have emphatized that Sonic has fate protection and ways to end the fight that counter Mario's superior power, but overall a very good episode.
Thanks for the kind words! The fate protection was mentioned in the analysis. It is a misconception taken from characters either being clinically insane or misattributing curses. I’m glad you enjoyed the fight!

@@crossovercolosseum680 However, it was said by one of the smartest character's in Archie Sonic multiverse. Don't really think it a misinterpretation.
Come to think of it, "Defense Piercing" DOES NOT work on Bowser when using the Star Rod (plus a number of other enemies), so chances are not even his most powerful set of badges could dent Super Sonic... HOWEVER, the Star Beam might just be enough to deactivate the form... much like Star Rod however, the Chaos Emeralds would retain all of their power, and so, Sonic could just pop back into Super after a while. It looks like a minor interaction, but every decision matters in a matchup as volatile as this one, where both opponents could easily dispose of one another.

It's crazy how I'm finding this series just now. I feel like compared to how Death Battle handled Archie Sonic's feats and stuff you guys have a better understanding of how the Archie verse works as opposed to Death Battle when they had Sonic fight the Flash. I'm definitely subbing to this channel now. By the way I'm more of a Paper Mario fan than Archie Sonic but i know Archie Sonic was gonna win just cause of how broken he is.

This series is WAY better than death battle! You research is three times more thorough, the explanation for who wins and why is much more thought out, and you take their personalities into account! (Which is actually against the rules of death battle in some ways.)

But I want to admit that Sonic have high speed then Irrelevant, while he absorb power of Chaos Emeralds he have an ability to broke every Law of Entity, even if we remember how he warp the reality by only running, Super Sonic have omnipotent power ( as it mentioned in Sonic Guidebook), and Super Sonic have power of imagination, he can create, destroy or rewrite everything what he want, as he even beat Solaris ( which one is transcendence and existing in everywhere and nowhere in the same time ) and he easily destroy SpaceTime and Space Continuum with single attack, Sonic have a FateHax and he can the whole dreams from GameVers ( which was shown in Sonic Shuffle), just compared power of Sonic to whole Archie Cosmology, where every single univers have sets in sets, it is like infinity in infinity in infinite times, plus Sonic pretty good at close combat, he is genius and pretty unpredictable, just remember how Mohol punch Sonic ( and Mohol destroy infinite Multiverses with his hands ) but he can't hurt Sonic, Sonic even can erase everything from existence or use his imagination as a weapon ( the only limit for Chaos Emeralds is user imagination). Sonic beat the Void which one is stronger then Archetype, that put Sonic on Boundless level and Tier-0. Sonic beat Erazor Djinn with no difficulty, bl Erazor in his base was absorbing the power of the book and had absorbed 100 out of the 1001 stories, Each story being a universe arguably. He also was relative with infinite who you can get from anywhere from star level to like uni+. And Was going to utilize Chaos Control to revert the effects of the Super Genesis Wave and were going to warp the multiverse's dimensional matrix, which has over 11 dimensions which is comprised of infinite universes, consisting of “infinite variations on infinite possibilities”. Sonic beat Merlina ( Eternal, unchanging, ideal, Immortal are all parts of Plato’s Forms. Merlina, the “creator of Forms” would likely scale up to this or even above it being the creator of it all. Sonic would follow/top up since he has beaten her in battle. Take victory against Enerjak, after all, Sonic can trap Papper Mario in Chaos Emerald, Mario have no chance to escape that one ( even without Sonic use Zoni Silence).

I'm glad you didn't bring up plot manipulation as so many do, because sonic doesn't actually have that. People claim that sonic "writing his own comics" shows he has plot manipulation, but in reality that just makes the comics fiction within fiction

I'll go easy cause this episode is like a year old, but as a massive Archie Sonic fan (I could legit go on about it forever lmao,) there _were_ a few details I found off in the analysis, between more minor details like how "Robotnik" and "Eggman" were two separate entities and Ultra Sonic isn't a separate personality, Sonic just refers to the form by that name, or things I feel were more major like how two geniuses, one of them being an expert on Chaos energy, came to the conclusion that Sonic was aided by fate (mind you, this is also generally accepted to mark the start of Eggman's return to sanity as he returns to his old self after making this conclusion,) and there's nothing truly to indicate that they're wrong, (whenever Sonic _has_ "lost" it was always something that he could fix,) or how Sonic Man's ignoring of Time Stop isn't indicated to be an effect of his Roboticization, he is just that fast. (Hence *"YOU'RE - TOO - SLOW.")* And does that make sense? No, absolutely not. But that's just how Archie Sonic be. I want to stress however that I did enjoy this episode overall!!! I very much agree with the result (though I would note that there's a possible chance of the Billionth Ring Aura partially resisting the effects of Transmutation abilities, although I do think it's a slim chance so not really a big deal,) and I thought that the animation was _super_ good and paid both fighters a lot of respect. I've been meaning to get to this series for a while now and this really was a great first episode, I'd have to say. Excited to watch the other videos and for any new ones!!!

Definitely a fun episode and am excited to see what the future holds for this channel, but I feel the conclusion could have been fleshed out just a bit more.

I certainly think Archie Sonic wins this matchup, but the only win condition brought up in the conclusion was sending Mario to the Zone of Silence where it would take him out of the fight. I just kinda wish there was some address of the Return Pipe which I'm confident could take Mario out of the Zone of Silence into Flipside. I'm assuming by the rules that there wouldn't be a way to go from Flipside to the universe where the fight happened and thus Archie still wins, but the animation and conclusion both seem to imply that Mario is just trapped in the Zone of Silence with no way out. I trust the research of this series enough to where I'm sure you took the Return Pipe into consideration for this episode, but without bringing it up in the conclusion or bringing up another win condition it feels like the whole conclusion is missing the big red ribbon to tie everything together.
I feel like I'm probably making a huge deal out of something that doesn't really matter since I agree with the outcome, but I'm used to feeling completely satisfied with conclusions done in the Smash Bracket due to pretty much all bases getting covered while this one felt like it missed a critical part of the debate. I know the episode is really long already, but a 20 second section on how Mario could escape the Zone of Silence with the Return Pipe but couldn't go from Flipside back to the battlefield would have put the conclusion at the level of all other episodes that the Smash Bracket has done.
Still a great video though.
The Zone of Silence wouldn't really have any land that Mario could use the Pipe on (most likely). Plus Sonic has the capability to keep Mario trapped via non-stop sending him back until Mario's Energy is drained by the Zone itself.
And Sonic could just go into the Zone of Silence with Mario and kill him there while the Zone drains Mario of his energy and make sure that he doesn't get up to any funny business. And getting trapped isn't a problem for Sonic since he could come in and out of any Zone as he pleases

Everything else sounds valid, I just wish the video itself had something about how the Zone of Silence gives Sonic the win even if Mario could theoretically escape it since they seem to imply he's trapped with no way out.

@@WrongJoke06 that sounds like a out of character move but it is likely paper mario could able to escape the zone of silence (via the gentle pull) which is a concept of no matter where you are in the universe. You'll always bw able to connect to your special one which was stated by rosalina and a Big role in super paper mario
@@TCBlueFire I'll accept the fact that Paper Mario has the potential to escape it but Archie Sonic could keep him in there via getting rid of the methods of escape temporarily until the Zone of Silence kills Paper Mario.
Also sending him to the Zone of Silence is a last resort move so it ain't out of character

You never mentioned how Ultra Sonic has Fate Manipulation, Boundless, you also forgot to mention his Greatest feat, Running accros Infinite Multiverses in just 1 Day, and surviving a blackhole throw that slammed him into a planet, and survived with NO SCRATCHES, how dare you not mention it
Also, can't forget the time beam feat. Archie Sonic was playing and casually outran a beam that was time itself, being blasted into the Mobius. This would grant him immeasurable speed, and beyond.

@@beeeeeans4867 Also Hyper Sonic Doesn't exist in Archie Comics, it was never used or mentioned ever in it's 270 issue long run. the only person to go Hyper was Knuckles, but all it was was his Super form, they just called it Hyper so kids could differentiate Super Sonic and Super Knuckles.

Just found this series from Brandon Yates doing a track on this fight itself, Yall do everything you need to with flying colors. Sonic's VA especially is done extra well! Overall, 11 outta 10!
My main hope is they use more of archies arsenal than the death battle
