- Dollywood is set to announce a very large attraction that is coming to the park in 2026, and in this video, I share why I predict this new roller coaster will be for thrill seekers and not families! Dollywood currently features 10 roller coasters, with the longest being Big Bear Mountain. Dollywood has been rumored to be building a major roller coaster for quite some time now and 2026 will be that year. I share with you where in the park it will be located and how large it would be!

Oh absolutely, like SDC.... they have some awesome ones that get close but not through a forest...the view from wildfire was amazing

Personally I’d like to see Dollywood build either a Mack/Vekoma hyper as there is already 3 B&M hypers within a 4-5 hour drive from Dollywood.
KEEP DOLLYWOOD DRY! the absence of alcohol at the park was such a delight.
I kind of agree.... though I love an adult beverage... it can be problematic for those who cannot responsibly adhere from a drunken mess.
And also...who loves cleaning vomit also who remembers kings island horror on intamins flight ride due to passing out from alcohol. Alcohol has its place
As a person whom has Dollywood as their homepark, I’d love to see either a hyper from B&M or Intamin. Also, love to see a Mack Extreme spinner since I loved Time traveler when I went up to Silver Dollar City back in 2022. Personally, I think the next coaster will utilize the remaining portion of land behind Big Bear Mountain. I saw a channel mention that there is a Bridge over the final drop of Big Bear that leads to an area that has a preview fence blocking off the undeveloped land behind Big Bear, and it could be for maintenance or the Drone show staff currently. However, as immersive as this land will likely be, and the fact that Dollywood wants to make this their signature area in the park, I think they have something grand planned for back there. I think this is prime real estate for a B&M hyper. The land behind the train tracks gives me DiamondBack vibes from Kings island, where the first drop and subsequent camelbacks go over top of the train there and out into the woods. I’ve also seen in past years riding the Dollywood express that there seems to be minor signs of clearing towards the land on the opposite side of the train tracks going towards the undeveloped woodland area across from the loop surrounding wildwood grove.
To address the the Mack extreme spinner, given that Time traveler has that iconic drop out of the station and where it goes into a ravine, that area that formerly was occupied by the Mountain Sidewinder was very hilly, and could make for a fun Xtreme spinner layout. They could do inversions like the 95 ft tall loops on Time Traveler, Corkscrews, a tophat like Ride to happiness has, and be kind of cool to see a stall of some kind since a lot of modern coasters with inversions tend to be getting a stall element in one form or another. I think hyper goes on the remaining land behind wildwood grove and Xtreme spinner gets built on the former site of the Mountain Sidewinder. Next coaster after those 2 additions I think will be a new version of blazing fury by RMC, similar to the new Fire in the Hole over at SDC. I envision the area where they have event space below Wild Eagle that was home to the old Mack Rides Splash battle becoming where they build it since it’s right across from Firechaser express. Doing this would open up some space down below Tennessee tornado and other attractions for future development.
would LOVE a more unique b&m hyper with tunnels, theming, and terrain elements, maybe even more than an intamin. we saw that as a wing coaster which makes me hope for the best. intamin hyper is a safe bet for an extreme ride, but after the failure of lightning rod i would imagine b&m would provide the safest bet if dollywood is ready to spend. take a fury style ride, put it on a 250ish foot hyper, make it thrilling, and you have a world class ride! always been a theory of mine, happy to have it validated by someone else haha. also, a mack extreme spinner would be GAME changing.
Herschend has worked with mack in the past, so i think a mack hyper or xtreme spinner would be awesome
Yes good point and time traveler is the most amazing experience I've had on a coaster so thank you for working with mack.
I think they should do something they've never done before by working with Intamin and having them built America's own version of Konda at Walibi Belgium (not the same layout obviously) in the space on the mountain not occupied by Wild Eagle, preferably where Mountain Slidewinder used to sit.
But before that, they should add a new slide complex to Dollywood's Splash Country since they haven't added anything new there since Tailspin Racer in 2018.
I predict America's version of konda to go in at sea world san diego!
This is an interesting topic. Now, out of all the coaster types that are available, I think that Dollywood would add a Mack Rides Extreme Spinner as their next thrilling coaster.
I could imagine the Extreme Spinner being added as an expansion to the park’s Wildwood Grove area.

I think the land where Mountain Sidewinder was is the location for the next coaster. It make sense as it's in the middle of the park and that area really needs some love. I think a B&M would fit great there, but could also see the spinner going there as well. Part of me really wants a large scale S&S Axsis coaster, but I'm not sure if they would go for that

Seeing a Vekoma Hyper being built would be very interesting. They have done some succesful layouts and I think it is time to go hyper for them.
A Vekoma over Intamin or B&M would be amazing! Not that they don’t make great hypers, something new is just needed in the United States lol.
I’m a local am I have thought that Dollywood needs more loopers. Three isn’t enough. Build me a B&M floor less or a hyper
I could see a gerstlauer infinity coaster with a beyond vertical drop and maybe a launch come to the park.

Realistically, Blazing Fury will be rebuilt by RMC in the old place of Mountain Slidewinder. Then the spot of Blazing Fury could be used up by a flat ride or nice restaurant for the back of the park.
I also foresee an Intamin Rapids Ride like Mystic River Falls to replace their current rapids ride.
Fire in the hole’s fifty anniversary is in 2028 which would be a good time to rebuild the ride like sdc
I've heard that Vekoma comes in threes, so with Dragonflier and Big Bear Mountain being Vekoma coasters, I'd guess another Vekoma will be coming soon...
All I could think of is how great that flat piece of land would be for a outdoor concert venue. There's 2 things I love doing right there. 😅

Absolutely Loved Dollywood, every 1 so NIC and my absolute favorite coaster that I went on 41 times was Thunderhead. ONLY 2 Complaints but huge for me. 1 no fireworks for there Rocky Mountain Christmas. 2 No places in walking distance to go eat and save 50%% OR more OFF food bill. Absolutely Outstanding From Start To Finish
Heres my theory..you said big bear was supposed to be a b and m hyper. .i think the park said lets just do another family coaster and save the b and m for 2026 to give us more time for that project....
I would go with B&M for a hyper because of there smoothness take a look at Candymonium or Mako and they are high capacity rides

Unpopular opinion. The get a vekoma hyper coaster. Dollywood has a good relationship with vekoma lately. And they can build a terrain coaster on the hill side
Im saying now they need some new huge standout coaster since Lightning Rod has fallen out of the “world class” coaster lineup it used to be. They need another enthusiast/gp magnet, which is great for a hyper/giga.
An Axis terrain coaster going through the mountains and into tunnels/channels like Nemesis does would be insanely cool. I'd love to see something really unique like that there as a thrill ride. It could be a hyper coaster and check that box off as well.
Dollywood also doesn't have an inverted thrill coaster. could we see them bring the the first Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster to the US or potentially the Vekoma Flying Coaster. or maybe a Vekoma Hyper.
Dollywood’s last two coasters were family coasters. Their last major thrill coaster was Lightning Rod in 2016. It’s time for them to get something large (although Big Bear Mountain was a $20M+ investment).

I found something interesting about carowinds they have on the app saying opening click on it and it says experience 60 ride included there water park BUT carowinds only has 58 what is carowinds hiding.
I love to see a Mack Spinner as tbat would be awsome. Or a dive. But one area that needs some love is the County fair section. Like Maby add some more rides or something

I mean any of these options would be incredible but for me personally I want a Mack Extreme Spinner like Ride to Happiness. Time Traveler is cool but I hope for something that’ll arguably be a top 5 coaster

There are so many good coasters Dollywood could benefit from. B&M Dive, B&M Hyper, Mack Extreme Spinner, Vekoma or B&M Flyer just to name a few

I doubt on Dollywood getting a B&M Dive since SFOG is 4 hours away and Carrowinds being 3 hours away. Those parks can benefit having that in their lineup. A B&M Hyper on the other hand makes much more sense as it was intended to be added to the park last year before becoming Big Bear Mountain

If they want high capacity and longevity, then you should have a mack coaster. Either mack hyper coaster or mack spinning coaster. What would be even better is the new striker coaster that Macks are currently building in their own park in Europa Park.
B&M are good rides, but do we really need another B&M? They have boring layouts. Sry to say but there is nothing much happening beside speed and hights.
Dont get me wrong, i love b&m hypers, but the layouts are not very creative. Compare any b&m hyper with any intamin or mack hyper. They lit. They thrilling and awesome.
