    To anyone watching this , i suffered for years with this and usually get a really bad outbreak after a sickness like a cold or flu or even food related illness. Nothing in the united states worked for me and i tried medicine in multiple different countries i traveled too. One thing i have found that is not sold in the us which is basically a super fast healer/pain relief for these is called pyralvex . Its very rare to find something that actually heals them not just covers up the pain. But that truly worked for me. I apply it every hour on the areas and it usually heals by the next day. Avoid tomatos and spicy foods, bread, chips, anything that you know will irritate it. Definately Avoid citrus juice and fruits. You most likely have to order online from another country but its worth whatever it cost

    I am from India. For the last 14 years I have been suffering from Recurring apthous ulcer. I had been diagnosed Functional bowel disease. After curbing down sugar, gluten, package foods, cold drinks etc I recovered a lot but whenever I have to take Antibiotics, they keep coming. Can't stop antibiotics because it may leads to antibiotics resistance. At present i am going through that period

      I guess any trigger like antibiotic use can bring it on. Roflumilast has been used successfully in aphthous ulcers of any underlying cause.

      The use of roflumilast can be considered by your own dermatologist. If you live in the UK, we can see you in the clinic here.

    I am in US and have been suffering from chronic recurring mouth ulcers for a couple years. They hurt so bad and always come back after healing. Is there a treatment available in US that is effective?

    • @DiscoverDermatology
      @DiscoverDermatology  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The usual treatments for aphthous ulcers in the UK if topical agents are ineffective include oral colchicine or dapsone, bot of which are available in the US too.

      Roflumilast and apremilast seem to be quite useful for this condition and is worth considering. No one can claim to cure it, but it can be well controlled, as explained in the video.

      You could order it from reputed online pharmacies. Some of the patients in the Uk get medications from abroad in this way. @@gavharoyganiyeva-l6n

      I am not sure if roflumilast is available in India or not. Apremilast, which is closely related to this medication, is freely available in India and could also be considered but should be assessed by your own doctor first.

    So all in all the Otezla (apremilast) can help on cancer sores? ( I have 4 and im feeling so bad) :(

      @DiscoverDermatology  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, there are reports of apremilast being helpful for apththous ulcers. It is quite expensive in Europe though and hence not used unless other medications fail.

    Hi. I am having ulcers on side of tongue at center on both sides for 3 years. No normal gel worked. Doctor suggested Kenelog steroid cream and it worked but ulcer appear again in about 4 months and same cream used. 3 months ago the appear again and cream is short in local market. I was given steroid medicine as gargles by one doctor and to eat by other. It's been 6 weeks now that the ulcer go away when I take steroids and as soon as I stop taking steroids it comes back again. It changes shapes as well. Sometimes it looks like canker sore and sometimes as if the tongue is cut and sometimes shape of tongue from side becomes wobbly. No clear diagnosis yet. Any idea whether this is aphthous stomatitis and what should be done. Does this mean I have to take steroids for rest of my life?

    • @DiscoverDermatology
      @DiscoverDermatology  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oral ulcers have various causes and any recurrent ulcer could be canker sores but other ulcers are also possible. If steroids are used long term and there is a recurrence, then roflumilast is certainly an option.
