Thank you so much for your insight, I've so many times googled about reoccurring mouth ulcers. I have them at least once a month and they are so painful and change my day completely. I've been on a plant based diet for 2 years but the ulcers have been an issue long before that. I took lysine supplements for some time but they continued, my doctor isn't concerned It's an issue but it's so uncomfortable. I may fall under the category you mentioned, menstruating and stress. Thank you as I'm writing to you this very moment with my tongue full of mouth ulcers😖😞

I had reoccurring mouth ulcers for 20 years now have NONE. I was deficient in B12 or B vitamins or folate or Iron or zinc, or all. Also now have zero sugar as it may interfere with absorption of vitamins, and help ulcers form. I eat Marmite 1 or 2 times a week, which has all the needed vitamins.
Hey I am curious you said that you had ulcers for 20 years I've been dealing with these tongue ulcers I got them started in July of 2018 and I thought it was cancer and they heal up sometimes they're worse than others they always come back in the same two spots on my tongue they'll start off like a white dot and then it'll spread to like a roundish white type Circle and it'll be red in the center and the white part will kind of be tender to the touch also the red part and some days they heal up fast that I switched up my diet I haven't been drinking no pop with caffeine I've been drinking a lot of lemon water and trying to eat healthier fruits vegetables matter of fact I'm going to eat some apple with some yogurt tonight but I've been trying to take tests the last 3 years one of my tests came back immunoglobin e kind of high that was 3 years ago just took test again I don't know all what was done but they checked all my vitamin levels and I was low in B12 and about a year and a half maybe 2 years ago I did some tests and I was low in vitamin D or K I believe I think it was D so they suggested thousand milligram Vitamin D supplements if I have an issue with milk one thing I can say that I'm going in now and I'm having the doctor check for all food allergy tomato banana strawberry any of that I drink coffee everyday a cup of coffee I've been drinking it for years and never seems like it makes a change whether I have them or I don't I don't eat much sugar throughout the day matter of fact I don't eat much throughout the day unless I'm hungry I'll eat a bagel or yogurt or mainly water mainly a coffee is what I go to every day and then I don't eat till later on in the day and sometimes I'll eat some fruits or a salad or something if I'm hungry I try to stay away from heavier type foods cuz especially when it's hot it doesn't agree with me and I was drinking pop for a while like Pepsi and Coke but I just cut down with that and haven't had an over a week and I've switched on and off from all natural toothpaste without nothing in it over the past 4 years and it never really seems like it makes a change I've been to multiple ears nose and throat doctor I've been to two different allergy doctor I've been to about four different dentists and one specialty dentist that said that I could live with it the rest of my life or try to take some ointment and put it on it when it comes on but there's a lot of side effects so I'm taking now a test I'm going to be taking for celiac disease which is blood test I'm going to be taking tests for food allergies which have already done most of them like nuts certain grain certain fishes and seafood I was a little allergic to shrimp that was over 4 years ago when I did them tests and I've also done another test through a Rheumatology doctor which all came back negative and I was fine they say all my red and white blood cells look normal but the allergist doctor that I see does not perform an LTL test which is Metals allergic to metals and fillings and prosthetic teeth or prosthetic joints within the body or anything metal which could also be causing a reaction on my tongue even though I don't have metal in my tongue I have old fillings from over 25-30 years ago one or two fillings and I have false front teeth which be can become alkaline and cause the body and sense that there is an issue now you would think that the teeth that would be an issue in the gums but maybe my tongue is signaling that I have an issue within my body and it's in within the oral cavity I have thought it's cancer for a long time cuz I'll get better and then it'll come right back about a week later I think the longest I've gone is about nine days with no ulcers and that was back in 2019 so I'm doing more tests I got about three or four more tests I believe I'm going to do and it's been very hard finding the right doctors and I've been researching this and going through this the past 4 years of my life all these doctors want to do is just look at you and give you some type of medication and push you out the door instead of getting to the root of the problem but I was low on vitamin B12 from what they seen the funny thing is I eat quite a bit of fish I try to eat salads not every day cuz they're expensive I eat cucumber tomato onion I don't really have no allergies with any of that stuff that I know of and I don't really eat a lot of shellfish I'll eat regular fish like cod or catfish and the pink fish whatever that one's called but I eat bananas and apples when I can also not everyday but I have issues with my gut so I'm going to be going in soon to see a gastrosinal dockter so from what I know celiac disease behccts disease rumitory arthritous sijrone sndroum animea. There is about several to eight things that can cause it but finding the right doctors to give you the proper testing is what's very difficult good luck on your journey and I'm glad that you fixed your problem do you think drinking lemon water and eating and all fresh fruits and vegetables diet with no Meats and no pop would make a difference thank you so much

My doctors at the time wanted to give me antibiotics and anti inflammatories , which never worked. My dentist told me to eat B12, folate, Zinc, Iron. And it worked. I have always eaten pretty healthy as well (lots of fruit veg). B12 is in eggs (which I didn't eat much, but now do), organ meats (like pate on crackers), dairy etc. I think some people can have trouble absorbing B12. I purchased methylcobalamin (B12) drops from the local pharmacy (no prescription required, one drop under tongue each day). I think methyl B12 is absorbed better than cyanocobalamin B12.
Perhaps you should try changing your diet to try and see, maybe add lots of eggs for a while and see what happens. You would think if you are eating lots of fish your B12 levels would be good, but perhaps you have an absorption problem. You should ask your doctor.
If I was you I would go to the pharmacy and ask for methylcobalamin (or B12) drops and try it for a few months. If your doctors say you are low on B12 then that could be the problem. Some yeasts are fortified with it, Marmite has it and all the other items my dentist said (good on toast with lots of butter). I'm not what was wrong with me but ever since I ate marmite then mouth ulcers stopped. Although these days I eat hardly any sugar as well.
It is a bit of trial and error I think, maybe I was just lucky. I think if you try something you have to stick with it for a while to obtain good results. Stress could all so be a factor I guess, you probably want to do moderate exercise everyday as well. Good luck.
@Kamyaa Sharma Try taking a B12 supplement, often people that are deficient in B12 have mouth ulcers. Take it for a couple a months and see what happens.
