Good reference. The RC F side of the house surprisingly isn’t covered for the campaign. I made a video a few years ago talking about the process of a “goodwill” replacement via consumer services. The key really is going through corporate for leverage. Covered or not.
Great video Scott! I have a 2018 but my vin is not apart of the ZLZ program. Did the same process but Lexus only wanted to credit me $1k if I replaced 5k worth of the delaminated trim. Finally got them to do the worst piece but also the cheapest. Wish there was a class action for this. Maybe in the future Lexus will be held accountable for faulty manufacturing of these pieces. Seems like it’s happening the older the cars get and you are luckier to have it covered if you are the original owner
Thankfully my 2017 hasn’t had the issue due to being garage kept and out of the cold. I know some folks remove the parts and take them to body shops to have them recleared.
Kinda makes me wonder if the new part should be PPF'd prior to installation!? I was really tempted to get an F when I bought my 18 F-Sport new. This issue would drive me crazy, I guess worst case scenario would be to try and find a decent CF wrap!?
Absolutely. It's a direct swap. The only difference is you have to move over the black part on your shifter console because it has an additional button for the TVD modes.
Nice work Scott.

Absolutely. And also no consistency as to who gets goodwill and who doesn't!

Keep it out of the cold for sure. You're one of the lucky ones!
Informative video, Scott! Would ceramic coating these trim pieces prevent them from delaminating?
I highly doubt it.
Is there a write up on how to remove all the CF trims?

That's actually what I've done to my current one until I install the one I'm holding on the video.
Hi Scott my GSF 2016 still doesnt have this issue luckily. Im curious if you can use the trim from the GS350 as another option

You forgot the 4th trim option. Cant forget the blue carbon trim!! 😂
Of course! The Anniversary edition!
