Today I take on the first of six Halo LASO campaigns in my journey towards the Halo Master Chief Collection's Hardest Achievement. As someone that hasn't played a LASO before, how hard is it actually? Well, as someone who went in without a guide... pretty hard lol.

Apparently the order of difficulty of the Halo LASOs are 2 - 1 - Reach - 4 - ODST - 3, so there are somehow still two more that were harder than this one lmao

I'm determined to bring a vehicle as far as I can through the mission.
That part where Tanner realized that the achievement for assassinating to break your fall wasnt in the MCC is the same way I felt when i had finally done it after 267 tries (yes i kept count sue me).
Haha I did the exact same thing when MCC Reach came out so I had to give him the true Halo experience
@Snamwiches It was nice that he got the experience. Some of the salt that I feel is the fact that I didn't realize it wasn't there and kept trying thinking it had to be a specific elite. So some of those tries were actually resets to get a different armored elite 😅.
Welp, now I know to stop trying… :(

@@fpsgoku4207I feel like two betrayals is way worse. You have a sniper for the majority of T&R which makes it a lot easier.
Plus you specifically have to trigger every single spawn on two betrayals and can't just skip the level.

LASO is pain and suffering, at a certain point you just let your invincible Spartan teammates just beat down the elites for you and then you just headshot them. This is what i had to resort to because the elites are pure torture.
Even on easy these split lips are frustrating including instakill face kicks and they just don't make it easy for you (they just keep dodging and have surprisingly good accuracy and bulk)

I have the ‘Monument To All Your Sins’ achievement for beating campaign on legendary solo and that enough was hard as hell for me
I was never able to complete the game on legendary when it first came out so I tried it again this week.
I managed to do it with a lot of cheese. I didn’t even feel good about it afterwards, just stressed.
This video brought back so many memories for me! When Halo: Reach came out I was an active part of the Mythic community (Mythic is what we called LASO, with a couple additional rules). I took part in the race to be among the first in the world to beat the game solo with these settings, and managed to secure the 6th spot. Seeing you guys struggle to figure out the first few levels and adapting strategies from the chat really reminded me of that race, where each of us participating in the race would share the tips, tricks, and strategies we discovered along the way to progress through the game. Personally, I was able to figure out and contribute the timing and strategy to slip past the opening battle of the second level and get to the target designator, making clearing the enemies from the courtyard much, much easier.
Around when Halo Infinite came out, I started going through the LASO playlists in Halo MCC. I finished all of them except Reach (figured I'd save that one for last since it was the one I was most comfortable with) and now I'm feeling kind of inspired to go back and finish it off. Cheers!

Halo Reach's LASO isn't the most unforgiving. Halo 2 LASO is. That is an absolute nighmare with all the snipers and angry brutes.
I love Halo legendary, especially Reach. Every new level bringing you more pain is suffering while knowing the basics what to do... I wish you the best as you continue the journey 🧡

if it makes you feel a bit better, my friend and I completed halo CE laso only to realize we beat it on THE WRONG PLAYLIST which doesn't count towards completing all of the games on laso.. so we had to do it again on the correct playlist
The comparisons I'm seeing only 25 minutes in between this and the AH LASO of Reach is hilarious! That elite on the 3rd mission had front back! After getting a "checkpoint" we were filled with "confidence" - Checkpoint confidence!!

So fun fact about that Falcon interaction in the beginning. You can actually wedge yourself in between the drop ships the covenant uses' inner section and have it take you out of the level, completely skipping that first portion with the marines. Back in the day when I ran LASO we would use a plasma pistol to bring the falcon down and fly straight to the satellite array.
On screen cross hair would be so nice. Like the ones built into the monitor. I've seen people use dry erase markers. Put a little dot right in the middle.
When I did my SLASO runs, Reach and ODST weren't too bad, and with a guide CE and 3 weren't too much of a nightmare (aside from the Library and the Ark... never again). 4 and 2 destroyed me though, but they are possible. You got this, brother

You can restart a check point in the menu for master chief collection, If you restart check point quickly around 10 times it will automatically reset to an earlier checkpoint. This only works if you spam ot as fast as possible.

I now know this is not a good idea though, will be doing some research ESPECIALLY with Halo 1 next…
Two things. If you play coop it adds extra enemies. The number of enemies doesn’t change between 2 to 4 people, so the more people the better.
Second, you couldn’t get into the pelican turret because it was destroyed by an explosion. You can stay in it if you are already in it, but if it explodes but can’t get into it.
Yep! Want to duo through it all though because it makes it a harder challenge and it gives me an excuse to collab with people I’ve wanted to forever. Also had no idea about the turret LMAO, good spot there!

I remember getting all the achievements for Halo Reach and god was it a pain but I felt like a spartan at the end when I got this one lol

My favourite moment is when Noble 6 says “ you are the halo reach” and immediately Lasoed everywhere
It’s even better when he tells the Covenent to Reach for deez nuts, it was a truly symbolic and most essential part of the entire game imo
I remember the hardest thing for me on Reach was getting the achievement and armor for doing the hoard survival game with certain settings on. Every time we came close, something would happen, whether it was the internet cutting or enemies glitching.
I'll never forget getting the Halo 3 two for one spartan laser achievement in lone wolves. What a moment when I finally got that legit.
It was on high ground, active camo tunnel. Good times.

Hilariously enough, not too long ago, I was trying to do Reach in co-op with a friend, and he plays only on Legendary, so we went to do that. The 2 Hunters, the Shade Turrets half of Nightfall, and then the start of the next mission was the roughest points we went through so far. Though that was also were we ended up giving up for now, because we kept getting slaughtered for no real reason, that we could figure. Its a rough start but I am not entirely sure why it was so bad for us.
Lmao. Was just going to suggest the post-it in the screen. You can also keep one person back to keep your checkpoints so you can keep respawning. Not sure if that works on laso. I would definitely go in with a friend (I did all this on legendary) however, for this.. plug in another charger to avoid restarting. Keep them at spawn
As someone who grudged through each of these slaso, reach and odst are by far the easiest, you can also check what weapons/abilities you had out by pressing the back button

I think the worst part of Nightfall here is that; factoring in the game just outright giving you the middle finger and sabotaging you at 3 different areas, you could have beat it in 24 minutes if you'd done the avoidance and door skip.

I went and got all the achievements to the master chief collection about two years ago, and it was hell. Halo 1 LASO was a complete nightmare. Good luck.

@Snamwiches learning all the speed run strats saved me alot of sanity while doing this. Me and my buddy might actually do the Chinese version of the game just to say we did 700 achievements twice 🤣
@@Snamwiches If you can get thru Halo 1, the rest is not to bad. Halo 1's skulls are pure evil and the speedrun skips are difficult to pull off consistently. Truth and Reconciliation, The Library, and Two Betrayals are probably the hardest levels for LASO in all of the Halo series. While Halo 2 is worst to a lot of people, there are so many speed run skips you can do, that skip entire sections and even some that skip entire levels. Halo 3 has some tricky parts, buts its not to bad. ODST is easy. I beat it in one sitting. 4 is also really easy, other than the last level.
@@MiloHatesYouthe hardest part of Halo 2 is honestly just gravemind like f that level but the rest is surprisingly manageable although long as hell compared to other laso campaigns probably doesn't help it has the most missions.
Halo 1 I would say Maw was hard for stupid reasons part of that being the driving section.
Library was surprisingly easy compared to T&R, Maw and Two Betrayals
I did LASO as a kid on Halo 2, Halo 3, and Reach. It was such a slog, but the pay off felt so good.
The first mission is easily a 12 minutes on lasso if you hijack the Falcon then use the spirit to fly all the way to the outputs

You could basically make one video for the first level, one for mombasa to the arbiter, one video for arbiter through delta halo, and then regret is probably one whole video.
On the bright side halo CE is not bad. I would recommend doing halo 2 last. Truth and Reconciliation is hard, but besides that its not terrible

Me and my buddy did all of mcc its on of the best experiences and accomplishments I'll never forget it
So when i went through and did my laso run with a friend, it was like 2 or 3 games into a legendary run through all the games, but l mid way through halo 2 decided to make it a drinking game. So think playing laso reach, taking a drink every start and end of missions, every reset, and every time something stupid of funny happens. Good times.
Also even more challenging for 3 was must find any skylls and take them to the end, and if a scarab shows up we must kill it with the skull.
We only got through 1 or 2 levels a night.

The Elite hopping into the Warthog's gun and using it is actually against the lore at the time. In the book The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund, it has a line that even if its available, the Covenant wont use human weapons. So the one elite that took out Tanner, was breaking the rules.
Edit: The normandy section as you call it has nothing on the saber space battle.
