That part where Tanner realized that the achievement for assassinating to break your fall wasnt in the MCC is the same way I felt when i had finally done it after 267 tries (yes i kept count sue me).
@Snamwiches It was nice that he got the experience. Some of the salt that I feel is the fact that I didn't realize it wasn't there and kept trying thinking it had to be a specific elite. So some of those tries were actually resets to get a different armored elite 😅.
Plus you specifically have to trigger every single spawn on two betrayals and can't just skip the level. I'm commenting again because I can't edit since the newest amazing TH-cam "update"
LASO is pain and suffering, at a certain point you just let your invincible Spartan teammates just beat down the elites for you and then you just headshot them. This is what i had to resort to because the elites are pure torture.
Even on easy these split lips are frustrating including instakill face kicks and they just don't make it easy for you (they just keep dodging and have surprisingly good accuracy and bulk)
Bait melee, rotate around, back smack. Or abuse tough luck by shooting a needle rifle into an elite to make him go into armor lock, then get behind and back smack him
This video brought back so many memories for me! When Halo: Reach came out I was an active part of the Mythic community (Mythic is what we called LASO, with a couple additional rules). I took part in the race to be among the first in the world to beat the game solo with these settings, and managed to secure the 6th spot. Seeing you guys struggle to figure out the first few levels and adapting strategies from the chat really reminded me of that race, where each of us participating in the race would share the tips, tricks, and strategies we discovered along the way to progress through the game. Personally, I was able to figure out and contribute the timing and strategy to slip past the opening battle of the second level and get to the target designator, making clearing the enemies from the courtyard much, much easier. Around when Halo Infinite came out, I started going through the LASO playlists in Halo MCC. I finished all of them except Reach (figured I'd save that one for last since it was the one I was most comfortable with) and now I'm feeling kind of inspired to go back and finish it off. Cheers!

The comparisons I'm seeing only 25 minutes in between this and the AH LASO of Reach is hilarious! That elite on the 3rd mission had front back! After getting a "checkpoint" we were filled with "confidence" - Checkpoint confidence!!

I was never able to complete the game on legendary when it first came out so I tried it again this week. I managed to do it with a lot of cheese. I didn’t even feel good about it afterwards, just stressed.

I must have spent an hour and a half trying to get into that damn ship. That and the final firefight are the only two areas I remember having crazy amounts of trouble with

When I did my SLASO runs, Reach and ODST weren't too bad, and with a guide CE and 3 weren't too much of a nightmare (aside from the Library and the Ark... never again). 4 and 2 destroyed me though, but they are possible. You got this, brother
if it makes you feel a bit better, my friend and I completed halo CE laso only to realize we beat it on THE WRONG PLAYLIST which doesn't count towards completing all of the games on laso.. so we had to do it again on the correct playlist

Lmao. Was just going to suggest the post-it in the screen. You can also keep one person back to keep your checkpoints so you can keep respawning. Not sure if that works on laso. I would definitely go in with a friend (I did all this on legendary) however, for this.. plug in another charger to avoid restarting. Keep them at spawn
Two things. If you play coop it adds extra enemies. The number of enemies doesn’t change between 2 to 4 people, so the more people the better. Second, you couldn’t get into the pelican turret because it was destroyed by an explosion. You can stay in it if you are already in it, but if it explodes but can’t get into it.
Yep! Want to duo through it all though because it makes it a harder challenge and it gives me an excuse to collab with people I’ve wanted to forever. Also had no idea about the turret LMAO, good spot there!

About a week ago, I started playing the LASO playlists on MCC with a buddy and we’d also gotten locked at a checkpoint. It had just auto saved the checkpoint like half a second before he’d hit the death barrier for falling out of bounds. It kept reloading the checkpoint and he’d kept dying for like 8 or so times before it rewound and loaded the next oldest checkpoint
So fun fact about that Falcon interaction in the beginning. You can actually wedge yourself in between the drop ships the covenant uses' inner section and have it take you out of the level, completely skipping that first portion with the marines. Back in the day when I ran LASO we would use a plasma pistol to bring the falcon down and fly straight to the satellite array.
Wow good job going for these :D I'm a huge Halo fan and played all Laso campaigns twice, honestly it was super fun and made each cutscene more enjoyable to watch 'cause you take the Covenant threat more seriously. It was awesome. My personal opinion on hardest to easiest campaigns would be Halo 2 - Halo CE - Halo 4 - Halo Reach - Halo 3 - Halo 3 ODST Top 3 hardest missions would probably be Halo 2 - Gravemind Halo 2 - Regret Halo CE - Truth and reconciliation Hope you enjoy the Laso experiences! I just remember going to Halo 2 on easy afterwards to trash talk some grunts, good times lmao
It probably doesn’t help that in Halo reach and other older halos the crosshair is not exactly in the middle of the screen it’s actually a little further down from the middle 😂

Use middle of the screen shower, its an online webpage. After that mark the dot on your monitor with WATER based marker - NOT alcohol based. Water based marker can be just wiped away with a wet napkin and wont hurt the monitor. Now you can basically see where you are aiming.
I've been wanting to see you do this LASO master achievement. I've done every single LASO myself, even Infinites, glad to finally see you attempt it Snam
You can restart a check point in the menu for master chief collection, If you restart check point quickly around 10 times it will automatically reset to an earlier checkpoint. This only works if you spam ot as fast as possible.
Me and my mom did this when it first came out. It was a fun 3 weeks; of about a mission a day for about 2 hours. Me and my mom also did this with the other Halo games before hand.

I remember the hardest thing for me on Reach was getting the achievement and armor for doing the hoard survival game with certain settings on. Every time we came close, something would happen, whether it was the internet cutting or enemies glitching.
Good fucking god damn fucking luck when you get to halo 2. Youll need it. Im on the mission Regret right now. You could basically make one video for the first level, one for mombasa to the arbiter, one video for arbiter through delta halo, and then regret is probably one whole video. On the bright side halo CE is not bad. I would recommend doing halo 2 last. Truth and Reconciliation is hard, but besides that its not terrible
the largest draw back in regards to the black eye skull is how open Reach's campaign maps are. CQB encounters in previous titles allowed you to just wait around corners and pop a grunt in the face, not on Reach though.

It took me 4 hours in the original Reach, but in MCC i got it on first try. I was astonished and little pissed at the same time.
You both getting the Falcon as a miracle is pretty much Reach's version of Johnson arriving with the Scorpion tank during Halo 2.

I have the ‘Monument To All Your Sins’ achievement for beating campaign on legendary solo and that enough was hard as hell for me

MCC messed up the AI so they pretty much got aimbot. Playing that level on legendary was the first time I ever raged in a Halo game

The 7th mission Snam only beat Tanner by 1 death. This was also the mission Snam killed Tanner for content.

I remember the hardest thing for me on Reach was getting the achievement and armor for doing the hoard survival game with certain settings on. Every time we came close, something would happen, whether it was the internet cutting or enemies glitching.

On the bright side halo CE is not bad. I would recommend doing halo 2 last. Truth and Reconciliation is hard, but besides that its not terrible

the largest draw back in regards to the black eye skull is how open Reach's campaign maps are. CQB encounters in previous titles allowed you to just wait around corners and pop a grunt in the face, not on Reach though.
