I definitely appreciate that 3 was the only campaign where the story actually slightly changes based on if it’s solo or co-op, the rest felt like you were just forced inserted for game purposes so it created a bit of a disconnect for player 2 but 3 actually incorporates player 2 into the story so that you both feel like two unique characters fighting against every odd imaginable
One thing I miss is grenades setting each other off. The cataclysmic chain reaction detonations you could get was hilarious. Be nice to see it return, perhaps as a skull or forge option. Also, the OG Halo PC flamethrower had both ammunition and an overheat system, which I think was kinda cool. The plasma rifle in Halo 1 had a stun effect that slowed people who were getting repeatedly hit by it, which could make it unique enough to justify its return even with the new repeater type guns. Also the alien design of Covenant/plasma weapons. Now they're just fancy rifles.
I thought the Plasma rifle making return in Halo 5 on memories of Reach ? I still miss the jet pack because it always help me reach overkill every match and now it gone.

The coolest and saddest two for me was assassinations and proxy chat. I always enjoyed walking up behind an enemy and hearing their muffled voice under their helmet. Only to assassinate them and hear their muffled scream. Good times.
For the flood, they should have a side campaign like spartan ops which faces the flood or do it like black ops zombies and try to survive a long time against the flood
7:01 technically the plasma rifle was still in the game and was available through the req system and eventually made its way into some maps. Although it was referred to as the Brute Plasma Rifle.
I really want them to bring back Flood mode by fusing it with Infection. Combat forms have been able to use almost every Covenant/UNSC weapon so the restriction on weapons made no sense, and if you change the infected to be the Flood it opens the possibility for some interesting tweaks to the game using preexisting Infection rules like Alpha Zombies and adding some flavor with the Flood like the possibility to use different Flood Forms other than combat maybe even have the "Alpha Flood" being a Tank form or the cut Juggernaut, maybe even having a rule for when someone is killed by the flood instead of spawning in the normal random location on this first death they transform on the spot like in 2&3 having a handful of rules like how long it takes to transfor or if they get buffs or nurfs compared to normally spawning Flood
I class Spartan Ops as a campaign, it has a story unlike firefight and directly impacted the canon Edit: the Plasma Rifle is supposed to be a significantly updated Plasma Repeater hence its rarity in Reach's campaign
The Scorpion's co-axial machine gun. That was removed after Halo 3 and it gave the tank some anti-infantry utility, rather than have someone just hop into the turret. Also the Missile Pod from Halo 3. Unfortunately replaced by the rocket launchers in later titles.
One thing is missing from the list, the ability to see your own legs. It seems to me like they removed this thing so that people without legs would not be upset
I remember being a kid and being so hyped about reach and 3 with playable elites and forge, I'd thought that in the future when halo gets bigger and better due to new technology we'd see huge forge maps with flyable pelicans and phantoms and even other playable races like brutes, grunts, jackals and stuff. what a god damn disappointment

Halo combat evolved 2001, xbox: You can change your spartans colour to any primary colour you want. Halo infinite 2021, xbox series x: That will be 8 dollars per primary colour and 20 dollars per colour change per vehicle thank you. Gee I wonder where the game went wrong after 343 took over :think
Even tho it was in the campaign of H5G, I wud luv to see custom huds make its way to multiplayer. I thought it was really cool to see what each character see from inside their helmets. And if 343 went that far for 8 characters why not do the same for all the helmets in multiplayer? Idk jus my 2 cents
A simple fix to the Flood game type would be to have the Spartans change but still be able to use the base weapons... Kind of like the Flood does in the campaigns.
I feel like very few even remember or know but in CE riding passenger in the worthog was placed into first person and just really enjoyed the feeling of actually being inside the worthog.
a halo waypoint style system would be nice. it would serve as a way to connect mcc with infinite. i remember unlocking armor for reach through waypoint so it would be nice to see something like that return for infinite. so for example, getting achievements in halo 3 odst would give you odst parts in infinite.
That actually exists already. Collection Conquerer, where you complete 3 of the 4 main series MCC titles on Legendary, gives you a unique emblem for Infinite and reaching max rank in Halo 5 gives you a special armor coating too. My brother and I got an original xbox for Christmas and we didnt even know what an xbox was lol are dad also got us halo CE for it and we didnt know what that game was either but my little brother was IN LOOVVE with it and i would play with him when i was bored over the course of halo CE - Halo reach. ODST story, firefight and soundtrack hit me in a way that no other halo did so thats my favorite lol but even with the little bit of play time i had with halo i still remember all the guns, skulls, weapons, characters, vehicles, Easter eggs, glitches etc. Wow....goes to show that you dont have to be a hardcore fan to keep up with good times and nostalgia. The OG halo community (The Bungie games) will always be one of the best gaming communities of all time. Gaming back then was light years more fun than today. I may not be a hardcore halo fan but if someone says "whats so great about bungie and the older halo games?"....have a seat...cause i got some stories you wouldnt BELIEVE! Lmao ggs boys
You forgot the older Halo's being rated M, now everything in rated T having less blood, lack of t-bag physics, and watered down explosions it seems haha.
the physics that halo 3 had were something else. the fact that you could do some wonky glitch or play around with the physics and end up with a whole new aspect to halo. also miss the pregame and post game lobbies. these are probably the most important thing mentioned here. halo just hasn't been the same without it.
All the time being spent trying to hold out against the marines in the beginning of halo 3's crows nest was so much fun (and sometimes being called out by cortana or whoever at that moment when you kill enough) ; basically the marines not being static and often very limited in fights. fighting the flood anytime they were on screen and seeing them reanimate after shooting them, the hilarious death screams when masterchief or your reach spartan character dies, The FREAKING ARBITER and you get to play as him, or at least you play as someone other than the chief like in halo 2 and the worse version halo 5, legacy weapons such as plasma rifle, brute shot, or even the more niche weapons like the mauler or focus rifle are no longer supported, pre halo 4 gauss hog with its deceptively fast fire rate, destroying anything that moves, the halo reach banshee being stupidly janky and often times overpowered (I sometimes would get 20 kills on 1 banshee compared to every other iteration) There were so many really cool scenarios you could put yourself in in the single player (bungie era) games, like how they took into account if you tried to teamkill your marine buddies, giving you a big open area to use whatever weapons to effectively kill the covies like when you reach your marine buddies in CE's assault on the control room, you're given a warthog with ai companions (assuming they don't die to wraith mortars) Sniper and a Rocket, after pushing on a bit you get a scorpion tank. it's one of the best examples of how you'd want to face an obstacle by giving you options, on top of fun, unique enemies that correspond to eachothers actions. I care more about the single player experience rather than the multiplayer, the latter rather being draining on my senses having to deal with 1000's of theoretical scenarios against other human players, rather than having to come up new strategies against ai in a predictable pattern, but hey..... that might just be me lol
Plasma rifle got added to Halo 5 multiplayer and I feel like the Lich in 4: Reclaimer and the Kraken in 5: Enemy Lines were basically the same thing from a gameplay perspective. Also there was that one scarab on Kikowani Station and plenty in both Wars games if theycount.
As I elite player, I am hurt by the lack of playable squid faces and no lore explaining their history as a species. This is why it needs a covenant only halo
I always thought that they should’ve just changed how the plasma rifle functioned rather them replace it with a new gun completely. It’s such an iconic weapon and I wouldn’t mind if they tweaked it to fit the current Halo’s sandbox
Okay, to add some more pointers: Spirits, Falcons, The ability to carry more than 2 grenades, [4 grenades for CE & 2, 3 grenades for ODST] Firebombs from Halo 3, and that's all I can think of rn
I missed using the airstrike gun in halo reach. It's a gun that summons in an aorstrike it was used in the second level. it was in forge mode for a while and then got removed in forge mode sadly
343 keeps saying taking out these small fun features doesn't matter or make a big impact, or something like 'we don't really need it' up until it's not even a halo game anymore or what it use to be. stripped down bone dry piece by piece and tricking us into thinking we don't need these little things until it's all gone.

I'd like Halo Infinite to have the option for a custom colour palette thing. Like say, 5 premium currency or whatever to get a blank template, and when you select it, you can pick colours from the existing palettes you own, so you can customise your colours more, and unlock more colours as you get more palettes. Some of the missing Halo features are features that have been in general removed from FPS Multiplayer matckmaking altogether for unknown reasons. Map Vetoing was something that Call of Duty also used to do before they changed it to simply having Map Voting with two/three options of what map to choose for the next match (which Halo Reach and 4 did have too), only for Map Voting to also be axed entirely in both Halo and Call of Duty in favor of just having the map decided for you and having no way to veto it or change it for another map. Player lobbies remaining the same with no need to disband them after each multiplayer match was also a thing in Call of Duty, until it stopped being a thing and now (just like with Halo MCC, 5 and Infinite) Player Lobbies disband entirely every time you search for a new match.
You know what I want? Storm The Castle, I know it was just CTF on a custom map, but it was still so fun to play on Reach, having to cross the No Man's Land that was the bridge, and then get inside the enemy castle, grab their flag, and get back out and across the bridge without dying.

I also thought it was really cool that players 3 and 4 elites in H3 were prominently featured in the Hunters in the Dark novel
We need scarabs in Infinite, what a missed opportunity. The only cool banished vehicle we got from HW2 was the chopper 😅
I was just about to type a comment about this, there was multiple instances where a scarab could have shown up and it woulda been awesome
We should have had Skiffs showing up and severely cutting back on the Phantoms, giving battles a more dynamic feel
@@Espartanica agreed, having all the enemies get dropped of by phantoms got old real fast.
That’s what 7 years of development gets You, disappointment
That party up with teammates feature you mentioned at the end of this video was so so so good
I definitely appreciate that 3 was the only campaign where the story actually slightly changes based on if it’s solo or co-op, the rest felt like you were just forced inserted for game purposes so it created a bit of a disconnect for player 2 but 3 actually incorporates player 2 into the story so that you both feel like two unique characters fighting against every odd imaginable
Another thing thats missing is the ability to see your own spartan or elite in the lobby, including other players
I mean- Infinite has it?
Hard to believe that dual wielding was only in 2 halo games.
I love hearing about differences between games and I was just thinking about this
thank you for uploading this
I thought the Plasma rifle making return in Halo 5 on memories of Reach ? I still miss the jet pack because it always help me reach overkill every match and now it gone.
I tried to defend infinite back when the hate started a few weeks after release. Then I realized if I personally made a modern halo game, it would have been completely different. I would have brought it back to square one, and worked from there
I miss playing with my small cousin halo 3 campaign as arbiter, and I really miss in general playing as an elite, its just like a different way to be than the others that makes you identify yourself with than spartans
Wish they come back soon, thats why I just stick with halo 3 multiplayer even if I suck playing, its pretty fun dying as an sangheili lol
The coolest and saddest two for me was assassinations and proxy chat. I always enjoyed walking up behind an enemy and hearing their muffled voice under their helmet. Only to assassinate them and hear their muffled scream.
Good times.
7:00 you forgot the Brute Plasma rifles of H2A and H5G
Man, we really didn't know how good we had it in Reach
For the flood, they should have a side campaign like spartan ops which faces the flood or do it like black ops zombies and try to survive a long time against the flood
Remember when the covenant for a short time no longer were understandable? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Wasn't that when Chief didn't have Cortana? I seem to remember such a thing.
@@MisterLongShot_Official it was in Reach and 4
@@ODST_Walker plot twist: cortana is what the chief uses to understand the covenant
I class Spartan Ops as a campaign, it has a story unlike firefight and directly impacted the canon
Edit: the Plasma Rifle is supposed to be a significantly updated Plasma Repeater hence its rarity in Reach's campaign
MCC supports this classification
Playing as an elite with my spartan friend made me feel more at home
Something that took me a while to realize is that Halo 2 is the only Halo game without an assault rifle.
Funny how we have progressively expected less and less features and are still disappointed with each release.
Technically the plasma rifle is in 5, but it's not the standard version and only appears in multiplyer
I just want one thing, one simple item that wouldn't be hard at all to include. One not a lot of people at all even talk about anymore
The SMG, just the SMG. I loved it, I was a beast with it in past halo games, it was so amazing
I did this youtube rewind thing I found online and you guys were actually my 4th most watched channel thanks for the great content this year
I forgot all about multi team and post game lobby. But those would be incredible to have again.
HUDs should be based on the color of the visor and the helmet worn, to give them an extra layer of familiarity
Good lord I had a stroke trying to read this
A simple fix to the Flood game type would be to have the Spartans change but still be able to use the base weapons... Kind of like the Flood does in the campaigns.
Aww man you can’t fly the pelican in halo infinite anymore as a glitch😢
It's still going through Waypoint to unlock this content, but it could use some expanding upon
What have I learned. Bungie: these guys found something fun to do in a glitch that's awesome let's keep it in there. 343: These guys found something fun to do in a glitch let's patch it out they're not allowed to have fun.
When times were simple.
No pay to win, no battle passes.
Just endless hours of fun with no sweats ruining the joy from it.
Why don't they just put everything from every HALO in one game
I barley played any halo games and i love this channel.
Lmao
ggs boys
You forgot the older Halo's being rated M, now everything in rated T having less blood, lack of t-bag physics, and watered down explosions it seems haha.
This is going to be a great video like always!
the physics that halo 3 had were something else. the fact that you could do some wonky glitch or play around with the physics and end up with a whole new aspect to halo.
also miss the pregame and post game lobbies. these are probably the most important thing mentioned here. halo just hasn't been the same without it.
All the time being spent trying to hold out against the marines in the beginning of halo 3's crows nest was so much fun (and sometimes being called out by cortana or whoever at that moment when you kill enough) ; basically the marines not being static and often very limited in fights.
fighting the flood anytime they were on screen and seeing them reanimate after shooting them,
the hilarious death screams when masterchief or your reach spartan character dies,
The FREAKING ARBITER and you get to play as him, or at least you play as someone other than the chief like in halo 2 and the worse version halo 5,
legacy weapons such as plasma rifle, brute shot, or even the more niche weapons like the mauler or focus rifle are no longer supported,
pre halo 4 gauss hog with its deceptively fast fire rate, destroying anything that moves,
the halo reach banshee being stupidly janky and often times overpowered (I sometimes would get 20 kills on 1 banshee compared to every other iteration)
There were so many really cool scenarios you could put yourself in in the single player (bungie era) games, like how they took into account if you tried to teamkill your marine buddies, giving you a big open area to use whatever weapons to effectively kill the covies like when you reach your marine buddies in CE's assault on the control room, you're given a warthog with ai companions (assuming they don't die to wraith mortars) Sniper and a Rocket, after pushing on a bit you get a scorpion tank.
it's one of the best examples of how you'd want to face an obstacle by giving you options, on top of fun, unique enemies that correspond to eachothers actions. I care more about the single player experience rather than the multiplayer, the latter rather being draining on my senses having to deal with 1000's of theoretical scenarios against other human players, rather than having to come up new strategies against ai in a predictable pattern, but hey..... that might just be me lol
I love how someone in your lobby got genuinely pissed at you for honking the mongoose😅😂
You forgot FUN. 343 dropped that in favor of copying modern FPS trends and making a focus group game, not a Halo.
Well I would agree with halo 4.. but I still had fun with each halo game from 343. Now if you were talking about a original art style I would agree.
@@Ghostman223 if your idea of fun is feeling like apex, titanfall and cod, then sure. But it's not HALO fun. Facts.
The older I grow, the more I realize halo 3 was some of the best gaming in history.
Overrated game. Its multiplayer was unbalanced as hell and its story was trash tier

Plasma rifle got added to Halo 5 multiplayer and I feel like the Lich in 4: Reclaimer and the Kraken in 5: Enemy Lines were basically the same thing from a gameplay perspective. Also there was that one scarab on Kikowani Station and plenty in both Wars games if theycount.
rocket sloth its very sad to see that you've turned into a scammer.
Infinite hints at a large flood containment on the halo ring
I don’t understand why no halo games brought back dual wielding as a campaign only feature so it wouldnt break multiplayer balance
the warthog run from both Halo CE and Halo 3 with the music blaring in the background is another feature I haven't seen in any other halo game
As I elite player, I am hurt by the lack of playable squid faces and no lore explaining their history as a species. This is why it needs a covenant only halo
buggers/drones. i missed them a lot today. also, the halo 1 pistol
I always thought that they should’ve just changed how the plasma rifle functioned rather them replace it with a new gun completely. It’s such an iconic weapon and I wouldn’t mind if they tweaked it to fit the current Halo’s sandbox
The best part of waking up is Rocket Sloth on your dash at 75mph!

Halo also felt like a fun party game when you played it. Now it’s competitive based.
Don't forget excessive amounts of blood and the ability to kill allies and have them turn on you.
Ah yeah friendly fire on marines and them trying to kill you. Did that even make it out of Halo CE?
Okay, to add some more pointers: Spirits, Falcons, The ability to carry more than 2 grenades, [4 grenades for CE & 2, 3 grenades for ODST] Firebombs from Halo 3, and that's all I can think of rn
ASSASSINATIONS WERE THE BEST WAY TO EMBARRASS SOMEONE
There’s nothing like sneaking up on a enemy and assassinating them, while they can’t do anything but watch
W... was that the Megaranger theme used in the intro? I LOVE IT! One of the best Super Sentai theme songs.
Not being able to vote on multiplayer maps ruined multiplayer.
Halo 5 did have the plasma rifle, just not at launch and it was only in warzone and Fiesta.
infinite added firefight back eventually right? I remember playing it with my brothers.
Mannnn, a big thing of the new CoD is Proxmity chat, but they don't even KNOW about the Halo 2 days...
Great times back then.
Infinite has lots to stand on, a really solid foundation for the gameplay loop. Especially with the new Forge
@@Espartanicatook 7 years and 1 more post launch to have a half decent game. Below bare minimum, 343 shill detected
@@halogod0298 Yes yes he is calling everyone who disagrees with him a Bungietard. Sorry, but the Bungie games are just bad. On steam allow Halo 4 is mixed with only 60% positive and they didn't even bother porting Halo 5 which just shows how much people hated it the multiplayer was the only good part. and halo infinite is 7 years of development for a sub par halo game which is just marginally better than Halo 4 and 5.
Now,the splitscreen is a removed feature!
I'd like Halo Infinite to have the option for a custom colour palette thing. Like say, 5 premium currency or whatever to get a blank template, and when you select it, you can pick colours from the existing palettes you own, so you can customise your colours more, and unlock more colours as you get more palettes. The system seems almost _built_ for that. Or hell, give it out for free and have premium be the way you get more blank ones. I just want the nice colours I have in a different order :T
I can't believe during Reach we didn't have, or I didn't know about the Jumper Jumper option, where you can simply press jump while midair to jetpack
9:41 Damn that recreation of MW2's "Highrise" is fantastic
There's nothing quite like invasion, man I miss that so much, imagine playable brutes/elites for invasion, or just make everything playable, battlefront II style~
So im not the only one who wants halo with battlefront gameplay its my dream to play such a game becouse in halo you have more vehicles that needs cooperation to be effective like this new razorback or falcon
@@poczujZbyszka Exactly, big team battle/invasion/warzone hybrid fits right in with this kind of sandbox, so I was hoping for something like that for infinite, one can dream I suppose
14:50 you were just unlocking the same cadet coating again as part of the Winter Update where they made the MK V [B] core free to get in the Winter Update BP. They then later just gave everyone all of the cores... They added the cadet coatings to them all too though, so that's nice
I miss having a free color palette, having my melee register was nice too
"MORE customization"
5.59$ for the color light cyan...
One other thing to consider is that basic unaugmented humans were last playable in Halo 3: ODST.
18:34 assassinations did not effect competitive, they only play if you hold the button, just pressing it caused a back smack.
A few things I’d like to come back are Spartan-IIIs (my favourite Spartan program), new spin-offs, duel wielding, assassinations (even if it’s just PvE), some old vehicles, and perhaps some Halo Wars vehicles in the fps games too
Plasma pistol is basically plasma rifle from CE, I still wish its model was in the game, as a super variant of the plasma pistol.
Little faster and Full alto instead of the charge feature. Apearing in rare instances for the pistol slot in MP.

one of the little cool touches in Reach was encountering an elite dual-wielding plasma rifles. Perfect mix of lore and gameplay
