My M800 has been sitting not-quite-reassembled for a couple of years now. Today, I finally watched this video carefully enough to follow the steps accurately--and my 30+ year-old bird is up and running again. Its barrel is cracked, but it doesn't leak, and it writes as well as ever. The crack in the barrel came when I stepped on it, probably, with my 200 lbs. weight. These pens are workhorses.
This video was so helpful in aiding me to reassemble my M805 after unscrewing the piston mechanism while cleaning my pen !! So helpful after I was able to obtain a 7mm mini wrench to do it !! Merry Christmas from New York and stay safe !!
Thanks, I accidentally dropped my pen case, with M800, M805 and MB146 inside, from a first-floor window, a distance of five or six metres. Miraculously all three survived, though the piston unit of the M805 had been jolted loose. After finding a suitable wrench in my local bicycle shop, I followed your instructions to get a perfect result. None of the pens has a scratch and all three work just as they did before.
@@gregorythomashalsey4801 I'm still amazed that my pens survived! I was cleaning out my bag, with pens inside, when the accident happened. Anyway, it's proof of how tough Pelikan pens are ( the MB146 just got lucky).
Very helpful video. I was able to deep clean and lubricate my M800. I am doing a deep cleaning of all my pens; we're in the middle of a pandemic, after all.
Absolutely wonderful pen. Had a m800 demonstrator pen I had to reassemble on the fly without a twisbi wrench available but used a unfolded large paper clip with the curved edge pulled firmly against the metal unit. Many thanks.
Perfect for cleaning and rediscovering my ink laden M800. There are other videos on here about disassembling and reassembling the cap. I had ink trapped in between those two that I couldn't get out with just a water pick tooth tool.
Hi I was hoping you could give me advice. I have the same fountain pen and I recently dropped it. The top black piece (with thin golden ring) separated from the barrel (the green part); everything else is in place - the piston, the nib the screw at the bottom. Can this be fixed?
@@Smooth_Manifold damn anglo-saxons, you don't even have enough brain to figure it out that you can made a tool from credit card or something like that, just cut out the hole 0.7cm in diameter, that's all. You don't have to thank me.
sbrebrown please, is there any way of getting the nib out of the feed? I want to use M150 for writing my exams with Diamine Registrars and I find it a bit risky to do so till I know how to properly clean it. So please, is there a way to disassemble the feed and nib? (after unscrewing it out of the pen)
Hello! Really like your Chanel!!!I startet with improving my handwriting now with my new M805 Demonstrator, which I really like much over my older M605. In the Moment there's no need to disassemble my M805, but in the future it might be useful for cleaning and put some grease on it.Can you tell me, where I can get this twisbi-tool, I do not found a shop where I can buy it (or another that works)I came from Bremen, GermanyGreetings from Andreas
My M600 is inked up right now, so I couldn't turn the piston all the way up; however, from what I could see, this method would *not* work with the M600.
Hi, I found an old Pelikan Souveran belonging to my grandmother. I removed and washed the feeder+nib but I could not remove the piston from the back since it is not equipped with the space to enter with the tool and unscrew... Do you have any suggestion?
I appreciate his video and it’s useful but why be silly on an instructional video where it’s very important to hear each step on how to do things. Why not be silly on other pen videos where it’s less critical?

I liked reading this comment.
So good, so good. Now I can service my pen with confidence. What you've done and keep doing for the community is amazing. Thank you!
Atelier Novotny I appreciate your kind words!
"at least as far as I know. And I know a lot" - ok, this is reassuring. Please go on... 😅
I just reconditioned a 1990 Black M800 with your instructions and now it's operating like new. Thanks Stephen.
Excellent, I'm glad this worked!
Very helpful Dr. Brown. Was able to lubricate my m800 that was getting a bit stiff. Thanks!

Andreas Smith I'm glad this was helpful.
Andreas, you put a flock to the test. But these 'kans are not meant to fly, dude!

Thank you, you saved me. I accidentally unscrewed the piston mechanism of my Pelikan m400 and couldn’t figure out how to reassemble it again.

Thanks so much Stephen. I've fixed my M800 which had unscrewed from the body of the pen and was in my desk draw for 2 years!
Excellent to the point video! Helped me fix my 600. Thank you!
Excellent Video..my m800 is now working like it came from the factory!
Well Done!
Paul Magro I'm glad this was helpful to you!

Love the accent. Nice close with the haggis remark.
Excellent video; so useful. Thank you, Stephen!
I’ve just found your video... many thanks my friend 😊

love your Cockney accent
It's a false scottish one
This is an incredibly helpful video. Thank you very much!
Thank you. I have the same pen. My piston assembly came out and the piston was stuck inside the barrel.
Great, now I need to go out and get some damn haggis so I can see another video.

Hello, dr.Brown. Is there a way to reassemble the piston without the tool? I somehow got it out and haven't got a tool... Thanks!
You might be able to just screw it back in
sbrebrown seems impossible without the tool and I'm afraid of damaging the pen. Do you propose a way of doing it?
Are you a mathematician?

D3adCZE No, in Pelikans, the nib and feed are fused.
Superb video! Loved it!
I love it!
Can you disassemble the nib unit? If so how
why didn't you just leave off the end cap push-in the piston, and then replace the end end cap.

You only get them with TWSBI pens. La Couronne du Comte sells them.
+sbrebrown Thank you. Maybe I should buy one, Pen Paradise in Germany sells them too, a bit cheaper.
Sir, Would you mind to know how to disassemble vintage pelikan 140 ?
I think that one requires heat to dislodge the piston. I'd be very careful with that, or ask a professional.
Yeah..You're right..but It might be hard to ask a professional In my little town...Thanks!
How about the M600? Can it be disassembled the same way?

Ach, too bad. Thank you!

Yes, send it to a professional pen repair person or to Pelikan.
Stephen, your Scottish is terrible, simply because we can understand what you are saying 😂😂

You sounds like. Russian/Ukrainian in disassembly part
