The 2023 Genesis GV70 Electrified Is A Near Perfect Blend Of Luxury, Speed, & Tech

  • When the excellent #GenesisGV70 came to market about two years ago, it was one of the best compact luxury SUV's in the segment and #Genesis has made it even better by going electric, with the 2023 #GV70Electrified! Despite the confusing name, the company has made this completely #Electric and it uses the same electric motors and battery from the #GV60Performance, which means up to 483 HP in Boost mode and slightly more range at 236 miles. Although the #ElectricGV70 could use more range, it does have the ability to charge from 10-80% in just 18 mins, making it one the quickest charging EV's on the market today.

      I owned Genesis G70 before I sold it at about 4000 miles due to poor gas miles and inconsistent acceleration. Test drove ioniq 5. I did not feel like seat in an electric car, and too expensive, IMO.
      I went for Tesla 3! The acceleration is mind-blowing. One-pedal driving is an excellent idea. Software updates over the air and charging network are great and convenient.
      Material quality might not be compared to GV70 E for sure, but I think the reason for Tesla getting popular is the driving experience. It is not only fun to drive, but it also makes you feel like you are actually in an electric vehicle!

    I bought one back in early April. It wasn't out on the dealership lot. I asked when they were arriving and they said they had one somewhere in the back. There was no markup but there were a couple of unnecessary dealer added options. They knocked a couple hundred off those because I complained. I got the Advanced trim. Same car with fewer bells and whistles but certainly nice enough and about $10k less than the top spec. Overall, love the car. Smooth, comfortable, fast. Complaints are few: understeer, cramped rear seating, and only boring colors available. I have yet to see another one on the road.

    • @AllyMcLesbian
      @AllyMcLesbian ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Not happening. Hyundai and Genesis have been superior to Toyota and Lexus counterparts for years (I have a 2009 Genesis that still runs like a dream at 315,000 miles / 500,000 km), but people who buy Toyota/Lexus do NOT cross-shop, they just match their budget and needs to whatever Toyota makes and that's it. There is a reason why the Lexus RX, which is no more than a jacked-up Camry wagon at double the price, is the best-selling luxury SUV.
      And yes, both companies have made their share of lemons - whether the tinderbox Theta II engines from Hyundai or the gasket-eating V6's in the Lexus GS. And before low-end Hyundai/Kia models were known for being easy to steal with a few TikTok challenges, Toyota products had runaway acceleration issues.
      And then there are products from other companies that either blow any equivalent from Toyota and Hyundai out of the water (i.e. Honda Accord) or do not have a Toyota or Hyundai equivalent (i.e. Mazda Miata). But then neither Honda nor Mazda make luxury models...

    If you owe $1000 at the end of the year, you will owe $0 but will not get the difference as a refund.

      I agree. Better on paper. The G70 looks better and has a nicer interior though, imho. I got it instead of the Y because it has switches and knobs and gauges in front of you. You don't have to do everything through menus in a screen that's off to the side. Also in my area, everyone has a Tesla. So I wanted something different and special.

      I disagree. If car buyers did their homework and actually knew what they were buying, then Lexus wouldn't stand a chance. But people who buy Lexus and Toyota products do NOT function that way - they will not even cross-shop, they will simply pick whatever model from the Toyota umbrella that fits their needs and budget, and simply buy that. There is a reason why the Lexus ES and RX continue to be the best-selling luxury sedan and SUV respectively, even though they are nothing more than glorified Camrys at double the price. For my money, give me two normal Camrys any day - or better yet, give me two Sonatas or two Accords.
