    Will You show us, how to model this BMW in Onshape (or other program) using this picture. Thank You. I learned a lot from Your movies.

    What if our picture doesn't perfectly align with the outside bounding box or we don't have those specific dimensions but something instead internal to the image. Fusion 360 lets us draw point to point and tell it dimensions and it will scale appropriately, how can we do that in Onshape?

    • @wolfgang.walden.cad.training
      @wolfgang.walden.cad.training  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to calculate a scale factor and dimension the image accordingly - by dimensioning both lengths.

    This was great, but is it possible to extrude it all and form the solid shape automatically in a simple way?

    now that u've done this how do u convert this into a 3d model?

  • @ofeyofey
    @ofeyofey 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That only works if your image comes to the edge of the page. What if your measurements are in the diagram? What if there's a border between your image and the page and you don't know what it is so you can't just add you border width to say image length.

    • @wolfgang.walden.cad.training

      LOL - you have to scale, cut and edit your pictures with something like photoshop, isn´t that obvious?

    how do you scale a sketch ?

    • @wolfgang.walden.cad.training
      @wolfgang.walden.cad.training  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all - there is no sketch scale command in onshape. You can only scale parts and surfaces.

    • @TylerDurden404
      @TylerDurden404 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wolfgang.walden.cad.training do you have tutorial for scaling parts and surfaces?
      In regards to scaling a sketch..
      what if I find that some parts of the sketch line/drawing is not correct dimension
      how do you fix it?
      If I change the dimension then it may warp/distort the other lines that are connected or throw a constraint error

    • @wolfgang.walden.cad.training
      @wolfgang.walden.cad.training  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to do it in the "right" order, but that is dependent on your experience.

    • @TylerDurden404
      @TylerDurden404 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wolfgang.walden.cad.training can you do a tutorial for doing something like this for a sketch ie resize some part of a sketch and what to do when the constraints appear etc. ?
      I think many people can learn from this since it is a common problem with onshape that many newbies face
      ie changing dimension then get constraint error or it warps entire sketch

    • @wolfgang.walden.cad.training
      @wolfgang.walden.cad.training  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should do only simple sketches without any filets to avoid that problem. Otherwise it is kind of hard to explain, it depends very much on your experience. If you watch my videos you will note that this problem rarely occurs with my kind of sketching. But I will consider it anyway.
