Redmax just came out with a new blower that has slightly higher cfm numbers but comes in at approximately $150 more. This was Redmax’s attempt to compete with Echo. I have the Echo PB9010T that I use with my business, and it’s a beast.
@@GarageGear Trust me, the RM9000 is the top dog. I own a lot of different top tier BP's and the new 9000 is much nicer in so many ways than the 9010. Great review. I own the Shindaiwa EB910 (Same as the Echo 9010) and Stihl BR800x. Both are excellent blowers. The Shindaiwa is phenomenal for fall clean ups or when moving heavy debris. It's air volume and power is reminiscent of the small 5 hp walk behind blowers from the 1990s. That's it's niche. However for everyday mow and blow jobs, I found it's way too much. It tends to blow debris up into the air and then back down behind you requiring you to go back and reblow again at times. It's also heavy, noisy, and consumes fuel. You get used to the weight but I've had many compliants from neighbours of customers and the fuel compensation is high. This is where the Stihl BR800x comes in. It's lighter, more fuel efficient, and quieter. It's not as powerful but because it's air stream is more focused than the 9010, it actually doesn't blow debris up and around like the 9010 does. It's also great where you need a focused air stream such as when lifting grass during spring clean ups or blowing snow. During fall clean ups, it does a good job but no where near the 9010's ability. I've had zero issues with both blowers. I've had the Stihl for 5 years and the Shindaiwa for 3 years. Overall, I'd recommend the 9010 for fall clean ups and the BR800x for pretty much everything else. The new Redmax EBZ9000 seems to have slightly elevated the top performer. I wouldn't be surprised to see both Stihl and Echo come out with something that surpasses the new Redmax pretty soon.

Echo is a great backpack blower! Best I've used for fall cleanups. However, I see Redmax just upped the ante by introducing EBZ9000. 216mph, 1245cfm. Specs are close, but more than the Echo. Will be interesting to see some comparisons.
Too late, I bought one of these a couple years ago. So far it's been trouble free but as a non commercial user I've only put about 50 hours on it so far. It really does a great job getting all that crap like the acorns maple seedlings and sticks that are deep in the grass out of the lawn. It turned my weekly leaf cleanup from a 4-6 hour nightmare with a handheld POS into an hour or so job. It's not overkill for a homeowner like myself $650 is very cheap to get your Sundays back!
I remember years ago Kawasaki had a experimental blower with a 125CC machine. The blower tube was 6 inch diameter. That would eat the ECHOs breakfast. But the weight was a lot more. Was told this was an experimental machine. Shame I do not have it. My neighbor ran straight gas in the machine. A total weld job for sure. .

I went with the Stihl BR-800 and while it’s not quite as powerful I feel about the same way you do. I went it as I prefer the 4 mix “low pitched” engine sound. It’s still stupid powerful and way more comfortable than a handheld and the side start is neat. I went from 45 minutes to do fall leaves with my handheld bg86 to about 15 with the 800. Totally worth it. Congratulations on your purchase!
Honestly not crazy about chugging along a 30lb backpack even in my younger days never cared for them specially if you have to pick something up they’re very awkward I’ll stick to my echo X series 10 lb hand held blower after all I only have 2 palm trees in NC 😂 left all those trees and acorns back in Suffolk county Long Island. Great instructional vid thx for sharing 👍
I'm in my 70's and slipped on some mud with this on my back. Now I know what a turtle feels like when they flip over. Great leaf blower. I've got it four years now zero problems.
From my experiences JB, the tube slides into the hole much easier if you compliment it and buy it dinner first....... 😛🤣 That 9010 is a friggin monster. Great vid!
It’s a great blower! But, it’s a bit heavy. Businesses love it. But, I doubt they use it everyday. Little too heavy. Little cumbersome. I hate to sound bias. But, probably the best all around value is the PB-770H/T. Which I have a lot of leaves to deal with Tomorrow. I am a person who loves echo blowers. But, everything else is Stihl. I know weird.
Thank you. Very helpful. So the static wire just sits inside pipes? I got lucky, mine started first time after 7 pumps. It only took two to get gas in ball and then 5 after that. I really did get lucky, I usually have problems getting two-stroke engines to start. Thanks again, Best!
I have the model right below this one…yeah it’s a beast…always use Stihl MOTOMIX all my lawn equipment starts right up. Always buy from a dealer not the big box store they start it up and assemble it for you, my dealer also registered it for me as well.
If it doesn't start and you keep priming it, you're just flooding out the carburetor. In that case, all you have to do is turn the choke off, and it will start. I know. I have one. I haven't had those starting issues so far except for the first time when I hadn't figured it out yet. I did the same thing with my Echo Chainsaw - user error. Who reads manuals? LOL
The oil you use was good info but I was puzzled you didn't also mention the importance of ethanol free gas. I get mine from a gas station that has a dedicated pump. The pumps where you select the grade and the ethanol free is dispensed through the same hose as regular gas can have ethanol in the hose from the previous person. That needs to be flushed into the vehicle first before filling the gas can for the small engines. I have the PB-9010T and it started 2nd or 3rd pull the very first time when new, with ethanol free gas. None of my small engines have problems starting, even after sitting for many months, all using ethanol free gas.
That’s one heck of a blower! It probably could knock you backwards. I’d love to see how much snow it would move JB! That’s definitely a beast! Great video as always JB! Still have the pool open? Enjoy the weekend my friend! GO BILLS!

The 9010 is no longer the most powerful. That would be the Redmax EBZ-9000. The 9010 is a great unit tho. I’ve had mine since February. No issues. Cold starts take 2 pulls every time.

Buying Echo for my business for 17 years Bought the 8010,, lasted 2.5 years Forced to buy another blower, i went w the 9010...lasted 2 years Plenty of power...no reliability Tomorrow morning, I'm buying a Red Max
The EBZ9000 has 1245 cfm but I still will take the Echo over it because the blower is $800 vs $649 for the Echo. Also Husqvarna has a bad track record recently for reliability with new products but the Echo blowers will last and last.
@@jodyjo_gd3 this is absolutely true and it really makes me wonder how well those new redmax's and husqvarna's will sell given the very premium price. Also I know what you mean with husqvarna, I've been hearing alot of longevity problems with the 500 series saws and even defects with certain 300 saws. I've also heard that the still pretty new 8560 and their orange counterpart seem to literally grenade after so many hours likely dew to just how hard they're making the same motor that was in the original 8500 work to achieve the specs in the 8560. That's why I'm going to hold off for the first year before buying one of these new 9000. Because we all know the trials and tribulations of the 8010 and 9010 when in their first year.

Figured it was a good deal, especially since we can't buy them next year. So my fiance has his Christmas present already 😊. Can't wait for the snowblower video!!!

@@briantii that side start is a super nice feature! Thanks Brian!

Same here pit! That blower is heavy. My 770 is a little lighter and easier to carry around

@GarageGear i didn't know what it was, so I just tied it off ha , i planned on figuring it out later, but I got busy all summer, so just remembered!
The 9010t by the way has similar performance to the ebz 8560. They recently launched the Redmax ebz 9000 and it is now the most powerful blower.

It’s a great blower! But, it’s a bit heavy. Businesses love it. But, I doubt they use it everyday. Little too heavy. Little cumbersome. I hate to sound bias. If it doesn't start and you keep priming it, you're just flooding out the carburetor. In that case, all you have to do is turn the choke off, and it will start. I know. I have one. Oh yeah buddy first comment 🎉🎉🎉. Thats one hella blower 😂😂. Did you figure out why it was so hard to get started on the first start up?
ROCK ON GARY! Sure is! Not sure why exactly. Must have just had trouble getting fuel through the carb. Now it starts on the first pull everytime!

Plenty of power...no reliability
Tomorrow morning, I'm buying a Red Max
@@chrispappas1766 thanks for sharing
0:01 redmax would beg to differ
Hahah those are good blowers
I have a older redmax slightly modified before they sold out to Husqvarna, mine came with different size nozzles. But this echo is no joke for sure
