@@CatSchool Hi again! I was just wondering, do you think the acrylic sided backpack (same backpack you use in video just with acrylic sides) are just as good? I heard that the cat has more stability around the top when leaning on the top edge . . . because he may want to lookout while I'm walking.

My cat has no problem entering or leaving the backpack, but she is freaking out when closing the backpack or hearing any sounds out of the corridor because we live in an apartment and our door is right next to the elevator. I will practice confidence with the backpack open and taking her to familiar places around the place and in the balcony. Thank you for this in dept video, you are amazing.

Thank you for all your work. I used some of your tutorials to train my Furkot, and they all worked great. Most of all I love that you teach all this additional information, like what can motivate a cat, how to make it comfortable and interesting to them - thanks to that I was able to come up with some tricks of my own :). From this video I got information that is new to me - I can motivate my cat with his toys! I just made an experiment and my Furkot did all the tricks he knows while having fun with his willow withe! I have I feeling, that I finally find a way to get his attention during our walks. Thanks!

We sometimes just place it in the house with the back extended for them to play as tunnels😂 Good to know that you recommend this too!! Thank you!!

Watching some of your vids for new trick ideas! Figure 8 through legs, roll over, the jump through arm loop are being added go my list, and a stay command would prob be helpful!

Could pleaaaase make a video about the process?🙂 Also, we have the same backpack... do you have any advice on how to teach our cat to sit on top of it/ our shoulder? Thank you for these amazing videos. I just adopted a 1yr old abandoned kitty off the street. I decided I want to train him because he seems to be a very smart cat. I was wondering, would I need to have two different carriers for him for going to the vet and going out on walks/hikes? Just wondering if he will be less inclined to get in a backpack if he associates it with the vet.

Fortunately I didn't need to train my cat to jump into the backpack. She started doing it on her own since the third time I took her for a walk, but she was three months old. The thing I never tried doing is keeping the top of the backpack open like you do because my harness didn't feel too safe, maybe when I receive my Kitty Holster I'll try. What do you use to extend the leash? How long should it be?

I have the same backpack except that it has the window feature. My cat is comfortable in it at home, and she loves the extended feature, but if she sees someone while in the backpack she is more scared than she is in my screened in porch.

    • @MS-dm7gg

i have the window bag as well, and felt it left my cat too exposed to feel safe - i used velcro and fabric to cover the window, so that he can crouch and hide if he needs to. he's still not super confident outside but that's because i haven't spent a lot of work training him

    • @laurenfromatlanta

I just started training my cat about 4 months ago and have successfully gotten her to sit and to jump over my leg (which we practice every day) but I noticed lately that she's been trying to bite my finger instead of putting her nose to it or following it. I tried to go back to stage one of training and just trying to get her to follow my finger with no other added instructions, but she'll still try to bite it. I also tried using a chopstick instead of my finger since I don't have a target stick and she'll try biting it after 5 or 6 times of putting her nose to it. I'm not sure if there are ways to get her to stop doing this? any advice is super helpful!
