Yet still manages to make One Piece feel unique and amazing. Atlas hitting Lilith was like a combination of Gohan hitting Trunks, Goku looking at Gohan before teleporting Cell away, Vegeta sacrificing himself with a bang against Buu ... Other anime/media have also had epic sacrifices, I am sure some of them can also be connected in a way ... I'd say those connections are what Oda does best.
Seeing Emeth attempting his own equivalent of Weapons Left has cemented the idea for me that Joy Boy's crew were parallels to Luffy's. Emeth was his Franky, Zunesha was probably his Chopper.

The government probably changed its policy towards the D name after Garp fought Roger. With Garp as a hero they could connect the D. clan to the government all the while vilifying its pirate origins by making GolD Roger (rather than Gol D. Roger) the villain. So if you start killing D. members again because of their names, you lose the huge PR stunt that is Garp the hero.

I am actually so pissed that Oda killed off Atlas. She was actually my favorite she has chaotic tendencies but shes actually super nice. Not only did Oda pretend to kill her off (or came close to killing her off) like 3 times but he had her be fine after each one. RIP to Atlas the real best satellite
Tbh I like Lilith the most because her personality is the most interesting to me, 2nd favourite is tied between atlas and shaka tho (shame they killed shaka off so quickly otherwise he might have been my favourite, kinda wish we got to see a bit more of him even if he did ultimately die by the end of the arc). Atlas is definitely up there too and I pretty much agree with your reasoning.

He could also just use his devil fruit to transport Saturn away. I clocked the comedic moments from Emeth, but the homies in my OP group chat didn't. I thought the hand gesture was pretty obvious because we've seen it so many times in the story. I agree, it's awesome to get a little personality from Emeth, and it's even better that there's a bit of a silly side. Feels very in line with Oda's style even despite how badly things have started to hit the fan story wise

When it comes to the D.s being purged, I got the sense Clover was pretty young before when his brother was killed. And he was already 81 twenty-six years ago. The mandatory purging of D.s could've stopped 80-60 years before our current timeline. We were all under the impression that the SHs were too busy to hear VP’s message but it’s good to know that Robin is listening. Clou is probably Claiomh. Claíomh is pronounced “Cleave”. It’s Irish. The name probably comes from Claíomh Solais, meaning “Sword of Light”. It’s a common item that appears in Irish & Gaelic folklore. And I think it’s also really interesting that all the satellites are dying in a way that represents either their name or aspect. Atlas died propping up the Straw Hats, the world’s hope, Shaka died doing something good in freeing Stella from imprisonment, Edison died turning on a machine, and Pythagoras died trying to analyze why the seraphim were betraying them.
We may still have time to see another one do it, but either way it’s interesting to note that the aspect of vegapunk that did the trademark will of d death smile was violence.
There's only a few vegapunks that can physically smile. Those being York, Lilith, Atlas and of course Stella. York and Lilith likely aren't dying here, and I'd be surprised if Stella's postmortem message wasn't closed out with a smile during one last big reveal.
Ashuras death hurts me so much. In one instant we got: ashura reliving his worst night, ashura tackling fake oden, denjiro immediately begins to scream and cry. He cries out im sorry and thank you, as he watches his best friend die. I cant handle his death, like ever. It always kills my heart
The World Government probably didn't try to purge Luffy because he was Garp's grandson and they thought he would cause some trouble then get smacked around then they could get him into the fold.
Then once they truly realized luffies threat, the people sent to kill luffy either were charmed, or another obstacle got in the way. Instances include shanks outside of wano getting green bull to piss off, or Kuma yeeting luffy and crew to the four corners of the world to get stronger.

Them letting garp join and rise to a high position in the marines and letting blackbeard become a warlord could be a show of power to the clan like "we've got you on a chain and one of you is our dog" and luffy has had a pretty meteoric rise to power, he may have been a pirate for 2 years but most of that was spent secluded in training so he's gone from a nobody to an emperor insanely quickly. Them not hunting him down could have been a combination of assuming he would die at some point like many new pirates do or just not knowing where he was.

That was cool to see that Denjiro is the Daimyo of Kibi. I really resonated with the History and Emotions associated with Clover. Another D. Clan Member. There might've been 20 vs. 20 @ this point. It was cool to see Zeff and them. Idk if that was Tequila Wolf, but the Slavery scene hit. I really felt Robin crying. Shout out to Atlas for going out like a Real one. I got slight Astro Boy Vibes. Even Sanji and Franky were stoked to see the Robot. Someone needs to start explaining some of this History to Luffy. I know he doesn't care about much of it, but this actually relates to him. Vegapunk is as sus as I knew from early in the Arc. Lilith is gonna accompany the Straw Hats. Shout out to the Straw Hats for just moving like a well oiled machine as a Yonko Crew should. Nami gives commands on the ship. Zoro acts as the Vice Captain as Rayleigh would. Jinbei and Brook were on point. The Emotions from Usopp and Chopper hit. Oda is putting emphasis on the Iron Giant. Vegapunk is only speculating. I figured that he didn't know much.

How many PX production faculties can there be? Egghead being destroyed caps the World Govs strength and this operation has seen at least 30 small-medium ships destroyed already, VAs stocks plummeted this arc as well
Thoughts for next week's cover story - I think Yamato is going to flip on Denjiro and show a soft side to win the kids' trust that way. Her arc in the cover story has to be one of her earning people's trust, not other people stepping in on her behalf.
Mhhh yeah but, she wouldn’t want to act a way that would paint Denjiro as a bad dude either. Punishing bad behavior is essential (if you don’t teach kids that way, the real world will do it when they’ll be adults and they’ll be dissoriented) but afterward you need to show compassion and reassure the kids you don’t hate them for making a mistake. They’ll make it right and the kids will understand Yamato is a kind person.

I think the purging of D Members stopped somewhere after Ohara. My guess is the WG thought, with Ohara gone, there was no way anyone would ever figure out the significance of the Will of D.

I think the “D” stopped to be a major concern to the world government when Roger was executed. They covered his name and connection to the clan by calling him “Gold Roger” and then over time people seemed to forget the reason they had the name or something along that lines. They made a pretty big effort to cover up anything that had to do with a “D” member unless they were in the WG like Garp and even Law when he was a warlord. So they felt the threat was neutralized when the will was splintered and, non unified.
Not many pleasures can compete with reading a story about fictional pirates, but listening to well-spoken Australian man talking about fictional pirates is one of them.
Jinbe is the helmsman on and off the battlefield. He keeps an awareness of the big picture at hand, and fills whatever role he needs to achieve the crew's success. It doesn't surprise me that he understood Atlas's sacrifice, and played into it to honor her. Steering the Straw Hats to Victory 😉

I am actually so pissed that Oda killed off Atlas. She was actually my favorite she has chaotic tendencies but shes actually super nice. Not only did Oda pretend to kill her off (or came close to killing her off) like 3 times but he had her be fine after each one. RIP to Atlas the real best satellite
Tbh I like Lilith the most because her personality is the most interesting to me, 2nd favourite is tied between atlas and shaka tho (shame they killed shaka off so quickly otherwise he might have been my favourite, kinda wish we got to see a bit more of him even if he did ultimately die by the end of the arc).

Imu might be providing support but she also fully grasp her pawns(5 elders) life in return of restoration. It might be contract power the moment she designated them under her power, like sugar does when a person turns into a toy. Imu can bring their hp back in full but can take it away, when they display betrayal.

My point is more that in order to get to Imu, who likely also has a similar buff, at least Luffy and Zoro will need to learn something else. Scopper Gaban is always brought up, but Marco is also a legendary devil fruit user who heals and we know he was headed to find Vegapunk last time we saw him so it also fits.

Is that really a twist, we already know he's as good as dead. Kuma tackling Saturn one more time to get him off the Elbaf Ship seems like its the obvious play here.
He could also just use his devil fruit to transport Saturn away. In fact, he use that rocket booster that was added in his cybernetic body to fly out and head straight for the elders, transporting each currently present away to different locations, like he did with the Straw Hats back in Sabaody. This could be how dies for real, but that's just a prediction.
I’m hoping we get a dramatic moment where Kuma uses his giant memory bubble as an ursa shock on Saturn to give back all of the pain he caused to ruin Kumas life

If Emet goes kaboom, then it's highly likely Kuma will sacrifice himself by dragging Saturn along with him towards the explosion. And given we're shown the robot can visibly damage the 5 Elders...
I clocked the comedic moments from Emeth, but the homies in my OP group chat didn't. I thought the hand gesture was pretty obvious because we've seen it so many times in the story.
I agree, it's awesome to get a little personality from Emeth, and it's even better that there's a bit of a silly side. Feels very in line with Oda's style even despite how badly things have started to hit the fan story wise

When it comes to the D.s being purged, I got the sense Clover was pretty young before when his brother was killed. And he was already 81 twenty-six years ago. The mandatory purging of D.s could've stopped 80-60 years before our current timeline.
We were all under the impression that the SHs were too busy to hear VP’s message but it’s good to know that Robin is listening. Clou is probably Claiomh. Claíomh is pronounced “Cleave”. It’s Irish. The name probably comes from Claíomh Solais, meaning “Sword of Light”. It’s a common item that appears in Irish & Gaelic folklore. And I think it’s also really interesting that all the satellites are dying in a way that represents either their name or aspect. Atlas died propping up the Straw Hats, the world’s hope, Shaka died doing something good in freeing Stella from imprisonment, Edison died turning on a machine, and Pythagoras died trying to analyze why the seraphim were betraying them.

We may still have time to see another one do it, but either way it’s interesting to note that the aspect of vegapunk that did the trademark will of d death smile was violence.
There's only a few vegapunks that can physically smile. Those being York, Lilith, Atlas and of course Stella. York and Lilith likely aren't dying here, and I'd be surprised if Stella's postmortem message wasn't closed out with a smile during one last big reveal.

Ashuras death hurts me so much. In one instant we got: ashura reliving his worst night, ashura tackling fake oden, denjiro immediately begins to scream and cry. He cries out im sorry and thank you, as he watches his best friend die. I cant handle his death, like ever. It always kills my heart
The World Government probably didn't try to purge Luffy because he was Garp's grandson and they thought he would cause some trouble then get smacked around then they could get him into the fold.
Then once they truly realized luffies threat, the people sent to kill luffy either were charmed, or another obstacle got in the way. Instances include shanks outside of wano getting green bull to piss off, or Kuma yeeting luffy and crew to the four corners of the world to get stronger.

Them letting garp join and rise to a high position in the marines and letting blackbeard become a warlord could be a show of power to the clan like "we've got you on a chain and one of you is our dog" and luffy has had a pretty meteoric rise to power, he may have been a pirate for 2 years but most of that was spent secluded in training so he's gone from a nobody to an emperor insanely quickly. Them not hunting him down could have been a combination of assuming he would die at some point like many new pirates do or just not knowing where he was.

It was cool to see Zeff and them. Idk if that was Tequila Wolf, but the Slavery scene hit. I really felt Robin crying. Shout out to Atlas for going out like a Real one. I got slight Astro Boy Vibes. Even Sanji and Franky were stoked to see the Robot. Someone needs to start explaining some of this History to Luffy. I know he doesn't care about much of it, but this actually relates to him. Vegapunk is as sus as I knew from early in the Arc. Lilith is gonna accompany the Straw Hats. Shout out to the Straw Hats for just moving like a well oiled machine as a Yonko Crew should. Nami gives commands on the ship. Zoro acts as the Vice Captain as Rayleigh would. Jinbei and Brook were on point. The Emotions from Usopp and Chopper hit. Oda is putting emphasis on the Iron Giant. Vegapunk is only speculating. I figured that he didn't know much.

I feel like the voice of all things is a way of communication between allies of joyboy, the ones we see it use are luffy, Roger, oden, momo, sea kings and now iron gaint all related to joyboy in some way.
One thing I thought was funny was Sanji geeking out over Emet like the other goofy boys of the Straw-hats. Correct me if I’m wrong, but we’ve never seen him get excited like that before (except with cute women).
He looked like somewhat hyped back in Thriller Bark when they did the Pirate Docking thing only to realise the scam. Also a bit later when he shot up the Pirate Docked upper body half (Franky, Usopp, Chopper) he was looking hyped up for what they were gonna do only to see them do useless stomping on Oars forehead. He do get excited like a little kid sometime.
The Rumbar Pirates were a entire crew of D's. They went out singing and smiling.

Thoughts for next week's cover story - I think Yamato is going to flip on Denjiro and show a soft side to win the kids' trust that way. Her arc in the cover story has to be one of her earning people's trust, not other people stepping in on her behalf.
Mhhh yeah but, she wouldn’t want to act a way that would paint Denjiro as a bad dude either. Punishing bad behavior is essential (if you don’t teach kids that way, the real world will do it when they’ll be adults and they’ll be dissoriented) but afterward you need to show compassion and reassure the kids you don’t hate them for making a mistake. They’ll make it right and the kids will understand Yamato is a kind person.

I find it interesting that Clovers surname Claiomh is referred to as "The Sword of Light" in the real world.
A lot of awesome stuff happened this chapter, and a lot of revelations for us as readers and for the world, but that backshot of Lilith right before she gets flattened by Atlas is, in my opinion, Oda's best buttshot of the arc. His goal to improve at butts is coming to fruition.

I think the purging of D Members stopped somewhere after Ohara. My guess is the WG thought, with Ohara gone, there was no way anyone would ever figure out the significance of the Will of D.

Bro, let's just set this straight: World govt could never send an admiral to purge Luffy because of they were always afraid of the big three- Garp, Dragon and SHANKS. No admiral or even a gorosei could ever defeat them. Luffy never had a threat to him from the world government.
I think the “D” stopped to be a major concern to the world government when Roger was executed. They covered his name and connection to the clan by calling him “Gold Roger” and then over time people seemed to forget the reason they had the name or something along that lines. They made a pretty big effort to cover up anything that had to do with a “D” member unless they were in the WG like Garp and even Law when he was a warlord. So they felt the threat was neutralized when the will was splintered and, non unified.
The final incident has got to be the unmasking pf the five elders to the world. Maybe vegapunk set up a camera or something

Not many pleasures can compete with reading a story about fictional pirates, but listening to well-spoken Australian man talking about fictional pirates is one of them.
Jinbe is the helmsman on and off the battlefield. He keeps an awareness of the big picture at hand, and fills whatever role he needs to achieve the crew's success. It doesn't surprise me that he understood Atlas's sacrifice, and played into it to honor her. Steering the Straw Hats to Victory 😉
That could be why GARP joined the Marines, to save his son and his grandson from this purge of the D
