@@everlenaoliver6912 dam right nowadays everything gotta be pc. I remember when gargoyles was on t.v. kids learned a lot of life lessons especially that gun episode.
@@edwardgaines6561 good point. But Disney should return to it's roots like it was back then. Back when they had guts to try something different and branch out.
The 2nd episode, I was trying to like it cuz it was GARGOYLES... but inside I was secretly saying, "this again..?". (tired clone which-is-which scenario/trope)
Most of the bad stuff is from the Goliath Chronicles, the third season effectively, which was made for a lower budget and rushed production and not helmed by the same people. The original creator of the show has disowned and considers it non-canon.
lartrak but let’s not forget that even the original gargoyles series had bad animation at times. I think people are too hard on the Goliath Chronicles despite it being non canon anyway
@@Esgles The original series had bad animation in some epsidoes, but I would say they were very few and for most unimportant episodes. Chronicles shouldn't have been made and it's a true look at the business vs the creator. the love and effort was sucked from it the moment Greg left.
Star-Child true and not true. I think this episode(seeing isn’t believing), dying of the light and the one where Goliath considers not being a Gargoyles are worthwhile entries to an otherwise awful continuation. What do you think?
@@Esgles Definitely disagree. The only worthwhile Chronicles episode was The Journey. As other posters said, all the love and effort that went into the unique first 2 seasons was sucked out. And replaced with a bootleg X-Men.
This was the only episode to use a different animation studio, and it shows. It just looks...off. All the movements look exaggerated and loose, and the facial expressions are just so danged goofy. It's the only episode of the series that really disappointed me.
I love the:
“Did you ever doubt me?”
“Never!”
“That’s Proteus.”
He knows his girl.
LMAOOOOOOO.
Disney doesn’t have the balls to do cartoons this great anymore!
No they don't 😏
Because Disney has gone soft. I remember when Disney was the MTV for kids they weren't afraid of making original action cartoons.
That's for dang sure.
@@everlenaoliver6912 dam right nowadays everything gotta be pc. I remember when gargoyles was on t.v. kids learned a lot of life lessons especially that gun episode.
@Gabe Stein i feel you on that pal. Man i bet if they put reruns of gargoyles on xd it would be watched like crazy.
For a Disney spot this show had so much depth to it. One of the greatest storylines
Proteus seems to enjoy being Elisa lol.
A bit too much, wouldn’t you say?
wouldnt you?
Almost like Ras Al Ghoul enjoyed being Talia in _Batman Beyond._ 😏
I like how they just wanted to animate Elisa being seductive/sexy and just used Proteus shapeshifting into her for that. lol
I see it more as Proteus catfishing Goliath
Fastest way to find out who Elisa is
"What's your brother's name?"
"Derek."
"Alright. Shoot the other one."
GloomilyCute - i don’t get it...?
Here’s another one
“What’s your favourite Pizza?”
“Pineapple Pizza”
“Shoot this one”
@@ladydnavarone3447 Derek is Elisa's brother real name before he took on his mutated name Talon.
@@lochness5524 What about pineapple pizza?
Had Proteus stayed disguised as Elisa, he would have made a clean get away.
Looking at the thumbnail, it never occurred to me that Elisa looks alot like princess Jasmine from Aladdin. Lol
Same animators for the Aladdin television series did some scenes so she probably looked similar because of that! :)
Yeah, in the comics Elisa dresses as her for a Halloween party.
more so in season 3, I think they changed the animation style a little
I noticed that when Proteus/Elisa was flirting with Goliath. I think I also saw a hint of Jessica Rabbit.
Fun Fact : Elisa is voiced by Magali Barney (Jasmine's French voice).
I like how the voice work is done by the actual character actors, who proceed to sound way off from their usual roles.
the animation of s03e12 was so much fluid and great
#KeepBingingGargoyles
Elisa's face in this episode is one of the most terrifying things I have ever seen.
3:25 Remember watching as a kid screaming at the TV like, HEY HEY!!!!
Disney should make shows like gargoyles again.
Disney owns Star Wars and has rendered it fecal matter. No thanks.
@@edwardgaines6561 good point. But Disney should return to it's roots like it was back then. Back when they had guts to try something different and branch out.
1:47-50 Goliath’s landing is so cool!!!!
I miss shows like this
Season 3 seemed to really love turning Elisa into Jasmine. I get the animators probably had style preferences but come on.
You know they had fetish for Jasmine.
@@edwardgaines6561 At that time, who didn't have a fetish for Jasmine?
@@Xeranx Jasmine *IS* considered to be the sexiest Disney princess.
@@edwardgaines6561 I figured that. I was just playing it safe.
Elisa looking very Jasmine-like in the second one.
Same animation studio that worked on the Aladdin series, I guess.
@@Hewylewis
If so, then they probably mixed up which series they were animating for.
"Which are you?" Well I'm not a guessing gal but to throw like that Elisa would definitely have to benching over 180 lbs. XD
I guess that a weak explanation is that a Gargoyle would do a throw like that easily ^^
@@ImperativeGames A Gargoyle, yes. But not a normal human. Even with Martial Arts Training it should not be THAT easy^^
Roddy McDowall was THE man! May he rest in peace. :)
Ohh. . he did the role as Cornelius and Caesar and Galen from Planet Of The Apes Series. Now I'm surprise to found out LOL
And Snowball in Pinky and the Brain
He didnt change his voice when he said "Who is that guy?"
3:14 he just tossed her with ease and you still don’t know!?!
Best way to catch your girl 😯
Proteus is HOT as Elisa.
karabrice i know he gave her a touch of Jessica Rabbit
karabrice Elisa is always hot. Proteus or not.
@@milessmiles9289 - Proteus-Elisa is hot in his/her own way, but real Elisa is hot as real Elisa.
always is, but Proteus resorted into THOT-TERY tactics tho
@@chrisrj9871 Proteus over-acts as Jasmine IMO. 😅

Season 3 was a let down but Greg was no longer in control and I think several writers were swapped out.
The ol' switcheroo plot.
Goliath: Elisa! What’s your Taco Bell order?
Proteus: what’s Taco Bell?
Goliath: that’s proteus! Fire!
So what was up with the animation in this starts off good then gets weird
