I don't see David as villain he complex because he ends up being a good guy at the end to be honest he just reminds me of a rich guy going through midlife crisis LOL😏
I never understood why this guy was considered a villain, what he did to Derek was cruel, but that was the only real bad thing he had done in the whole show.
It was but as a result, Derek was able to do things he couldn't do as a normal human. He gained strengthen and reflexes, speed, etc that rivaled the gargoyles themselves.
Don't forget giving Demona access to pack media studios. Although he had truly no idea what Demona had in mind....he still should have been on his guard.
He tried to kill the gargoyles with his first batch of steel clan robots, also created both Thailog and Coldstone (the latter being especially cruel with the cybernetics and multiple personalities) to defeat the gargoyles, tried to capture one of the Loch Ness monsters, used The Pack against the gargoyles at least twice, capturing Coyote hoping to make himself immortal...Xanatos has quite the rap sheet.
Xanatos hands down. While Lex is smarter and better scientist, Xanatos doesn't have Lex's most overwhelming flaw and weakness his ego and Xanatos is just better planner, heck even when Xanatos loses he usually gains nearly as much as his enemies how beat him or sometime more.
Gotta love #1 moment. I don't think that was his top moment though -- that honor belongs to when he went up against Oberon, knowing that he had absolute no chance, all to protect his son, esp when Oberon dusted all his weapons, so David did a jump kick on him. Close #2 is when Fox asked why David isn't getting revenge on the Gargoyles, and David replied, "it's such a waste, and revenge is so beneath me." And it turned out he was right, because Gargoyles did so much for David (mostly unknowingly to the gargoyles), and David was able to find true happiness because he didn't resort to stupidity like revenge.
@@FireLordJohn3191 Right. He also said in one of the previous scene -- Owen pointed how easy it is to find and destroy Gargoyles during the day, but David replied with something like, "Yeah, but it seems like a waste."

He only a villain or hero when it suited him.
i was just gonna say he's an evil tony stark, i call that "great minds think alike"
1:47 He actually says "hell"? I just barely remember watching this show in the early 2000s, so I didn't know but knowing this was a Disney show, I'm surprised!
Xanatos may be the physical embodiment of JUST AS PLANNED. Tzeentch would be proud
Man literally has a trope named after him, Xanatos Gambit
the music overlapping 'the edge' speech at the end. they LITERALLY do not make kids shows like this anymore.
I think Gargoyles is more suited for an older audience like young teens to adults. There were a couple of scenes I didn't think was suitable for children.
Yo that comment about growing old actually got to him
I don't see David as villain he complex because he ends up being a good guy at the end to be honest he just reminds me of a rich guy going through midlife crisis LOL😏
I haven't seen an episode of this show, but this guy seems like the ultimate villain.
1:50 Beverly Crusher?
No but given all the Star Trek cameos, I bet she was an inspiration.
Oh hell no! That number 8 gave me the chills!
THIS IS A "BEST VIDEO", I LOVE IT!😆❤😁
1:48 Best part.
I’d pay good money to hear Jonathan frakes voice Tony stark
The only guy who is more interesting and have more screen presence than the heroes - also had his ficitonal gambit become mainstream.
Xanatos vs Lex Luthor
Xanatos hands down. While Lex is smarter and better scientist, Xanatos doesn't have Lex's most overwhelming flaw and weakness his ego and Xanatos is just better planner, heck even when Xanatos loses he usually gains nearly as much as his enemies how beat him or sometime more.
I’m only here for Owen
im here to out vogel, the vogel
I love him
Marvel is owned by Disney. Xanatos x Tony Stark is a possibility
Iron Man vs David Xanatos.
Oberon's Children + Gargoyles vs Avengers
Mcbeth vs Batman
Xanatos reminds me of Tony Stark
great villain in the tv
great villain
Ah, redoubtable commander Riker.... :D
He says, "revenge as they say is a sucker's game."
@@FireLordJohn3191 Right. He also said in one of the previous scene -- Owen pointed how easy it is to find and destroy Gargoyles during the day, but David replied with something like, "Yeah, but it seems like a waste."
tbh disney should make a live action gargoyles movie and cast rdj as xanatos since he is basically evil tony stark
An evil Tony Stark well said
"An evil tony stark"... owwww that gives me a great idea. A match between Xanathos in his Steel Clan Armor, vs Tony Stark in his Iron Man Armor. Hwo will win ^^
best villain in the tv
Is Xanatos a villain? I don't think he is, even from the start, because he would never harm the city (in fact, he would go out of his way to protect the city). He is an antagonist (someone who stands in the way of the protagonists).
He’s basically Seto Kaiba.
Should have let 10 go on for 2 or 3 seconds.
1 and 2 are my favorite
Is that Jonathan Frakes as Xanatos?
Yes
Jeez, he's just evil Tony Stark. Can we get RDJ to play him in a live action Gargoyles movie?
Nah just a un heroic Tony Stark, More arrogant sure.
Dear Disney,
1. Live action
2. Robert Downey Jr
3. NO WOKE BULLSHIT
Wanting Gargoyles not to be woke is like wanting the X-Men not to be woke.
"We're genetically compatible"
Sounds funny, but later on in the series you find out her parents are wisps and they created an abomination half breed child 😅
This guy would curb stop Lex Luthor!!!!
Not to mention that Owen is also based off Picard, Riker's superior.
Disney allowed a character to say "Hell" in a kid's show and they got away with it?
Back when "safe space" nonsense didn't exist. Kids will face greater challenges than a few bad words when they grow up.
Maleficent said “Hell” in Sleeping Beauty, and it was said in 101 Dalmatians.
There a joke that Xanatos is so rich he paid off the censors so he could say hell.
