Should I even mention that I was 6yrs old when this was filmed.... This music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. LOVE these guys! God bless them & theirs!
In the late 1970's, the Y'all Come Back Saloon, on Hennepin Avenue, in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, use to play this song every night at 1AM closing time. It was time to get my drunk ass home.
Mikey-B, Donna and Matty Boy this one's for you ! Didn't we have a grand time singing it way back when !! What memories ! I love you. THANK YOU OAK RIDGE BOYS !!. A.N.
@flowerpotent if only we could relive such memories am i right. would be nice. back then things were so much simpler. im 20 now and i still listen to the classics.
OK. I just got a huge laugh watching the guy in robes with the sword. What the heck was that all about?!?!?! These guys ROCK. I saw them at my county fair last Summer and I've been hooked ever since. Don't know how I missed them all my life, but MAN they're awesome.
I never would've guessed that they played the Montreaux Jazz Festival. This song was an integral part of my childhood--everywhere I went. I still get it stuck in my head all the damn time. You can't deny how effin' good it is.
The "Burger King" was their piano player for a long time. He was part of the show as well, when you saw them in Concert. He died from a heart attack just when they were making it big. I saw them perform for the first time in 1977 and 50 times more through out the years.
Does anyone remember the guitar payer in white's name???? He is so gorgeous!!!!! I have loved these guys since I was a teen and I'm 52 now. Saw them at fanfest in the early 80's but I cannot recall this man's name and it's driving me nuts!
@musicguy4fun.....Could be true .....My late wife and I used to dance to this , we loved them .......Now I find out that we were dancing to un-engineered sound .......O the shame ....P.S. We never did drug's .
@Rusty3659 I always wished he kept this look. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the oaks. I first saw them when "Elvira" came out> He was just starting to let his hair/beard grow. He couldn't hanged his image w/out all of that IMO>
Amazing how Dwayne Allen's look changed in just a few years. He was a hip, disco-looking guy in this video and morphed into a mountain man. Great sound, though!
THIS is country music. All these tigh jean wearing momma boy queers who think their singing country today with their telecasters and the amp distortin wide open should look at this and get a CLUE! AWESOME SONG!!! 5**********!
this song really gives you the difference between William lee golden and who ever took his place. their harmony was off with out William. im glad he came back
+kemmererkid That was Steve Sanders who was a fine singer. He was with them when William Lee Golden was too - singing back up. Then we they fired him for refusing to groom himself among other things, Steve Sanders simply stepped to the front and replaced him. Until his unfortunate suicide.
This country tune from my childhood is more rock than anything that’s been on the radio over the last three decades.

Love these songs by The Oak Ridge Boys
this was the title song to their 1st all country recording. it was a great album and sent the oaks into another class as country artists.
This is just a timeless, badass song, i don't care who you are!
I forget about this song until I hear it again on a Classics station--just heard it again today.
I've seen them 4 times. They put on a great show even if you don't like their music
My LP Mickie choreographed a brilliant modern/contemporary piece to Y'all Come Back Saloon
Reminds me of my dad's favorite music, which is a compliment actually.
Love it!
Thanks!!
George Vreeland Hill
Welcome to real country! Gotta love this!!
Wow, forgot about this one. Great tune.
The happiest years were the ORB YEARS 1983-1987...miss those guys...singin' (my ❤️ ) 💔don, Pete, esp skip ❤

love this song
By the end of 1979 ---they went country in 1977--- the Oak Ridge Boys had a new band.
Belongs to my absolutely favourite song of the Oaks. It is such funn to listen too. Thanks for the
upload too.
yea this song rocks
The "Burger King" was their piano player for a long time. He was part of the show as well, when you saw them in Concert. He died from a heart attack just when they were making it big. I saw them perform for the first time in 1977 and 50 times more through out the years.
Garland Craft is alive and well.
Great song.
Music, country or nor; Pure music
Does anyone remember the guitar payer in white's name???? He is so gorgeous!!!!! I have loved these guys since I was a teen and I'm 52 now. Saw them at fanfest in the early 80's but I cannot recall this man's name and it's driving me nuts!
Other than being older, the boys still sound the same now as they did then. It's also weird seeing William without his signature long hair, and beard.
Indeed. He didn't start growing it out until the 80's
I like old songs like that this one
in the late seventies, they would play the song on the juke box a dozen times.. pool player. Bham. ALABAMA
Y'all Come Back Saloon - Lake Wales, FL
This is as good as it gets.
awsome
The lead guitar players name is Skip Mitchell. He has a Facebook page.
@MrDesperado91 Youre damn right. We should treasure these classics
I knew a lady that called me "cowboy".....once upon a time..
Thank you so much! :)
ur welcome
your welcome
I first saw the boys when Golden was just letting his hair/beard grow. Lookin back I wish he hadn't grown it out. He looks better this way.
A guy at Subway told me to listen to them, I dig it. Even tho I'm more of an Indie and New Wave girl.xD
@cellpals2 Yeah, just look at the way he stands back from the mic and leans forward at the waist to sing. Nobody else does that.
The oaks, and the statler brothers, nothing like it
@coconutcharlie Same here. I cant get it out of my head at all.
wow, I had to lmao about that. Thanks I needed it.
I've watched this several times, but I just noticed something at 2:44, Did Richard do the first unofficial "MIC" drop back in '77?
What Richard Sterban dropped was a tambourine, not a microphone; actually, he didn't drop it, he tossed it onto to stage.
Great tune. Creepy Keyboard dude.
"losers evening prayer" Brilliant! Four part harmony at its best. The Oaks are the greatest.
AAA+++. The best.
No, that's Joe Bonsall, the tenor singer for the Oak Ridge Boys.
@gatech42 ....I think you are referring to William Lee. He's the one who grew his hair and beard out.
c bon sa :)
So hip!!)))
@musicguy4fun.....Could be true .....My late wife and I used to dance to this , we loved them .......Now I find out that we were dancing to un-engineered sound .......O the shame ....P.S. We never did drug's .
@mrjakedog07
He sure is. He's standing between Duan Allen and Richard Sterbin. It was back when he looked human.
@Rusty3659 I always wished he kept this look. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the oaks. I first saw them when "Elvira" came out> He was just starting to let his hair/beard grow. He couldn't hanged his image w/out all of that IMO>

I am Starting To Like Richard Sturban.
@gatech42 You're thinking of William Lee Golden
Is that freddy mercury on the end with the blue shirt and scarf?
THIS is country music. All these tigh jean wearing momma boy queers who think their singing country today with their telecasters and the amp distortin wide open should look at this and get a CLUE! AWESOME SONG!!! 5**********!
Yes indeed. it is William lee. :)
@donneythejedi ...Thank you for the info.I believe I could do without ....Now it's there in my mind I will have to come to term's with it ....DUH .
haha, he's there sans the beard!
@vseas3 I imagine the voice of God sounds a lot like Richard Sterban hitting a low note.
Joe Bonsall looks Melungen , an ethnic group native to Tennessee.
from the wiki "found primarily in northeastern Tennessee, southwestern Virginia, southeastern Kentucky"
@gatech42 You mena William Lee?
is bill golden in this video I don't remember him without all the hair
i put in the christmas song its snowing here
@ThePBRlover ....That was only 'cos he was so drunk he forgot where he parked his horse .
this song really gives you the difference between William lee golden and who ever took his place. their harmony was off with out William. im glad he came back
+kemmererkid That was Steve Sanders who was a fine singer. He was with them when William Lee Golden was too - singing back up. Then we they fired him for refusing to groom himself among other things, Steve Sanders simply stepped to the front and replaced him. Until his unfortunate suicide.

@musicguy4fun well the music is not as bad and the way they are dressed, surely with the money they have made they could dress better
What was Burger King doing there? Anybody else see that?
cocaine is a hell of a drug
Fucking half breed never could just fucking stand still. Always got to me.
But they didn't get rich! All their money is in a bank in Beverly Hills in some body else's name!
That would be The Gatlin Brothers.
Alexander Pataki Thats the Gatlin boys!
Wrong band. You're thinking of the Gatlin Brothers.
This must after the time they screwed William Lee Golden
