Thanks for the post. My wife and I were newly married and saw them at a park for $5.00! This song was just starting to go up the charts for them at the time. The same piano player as in this video was playing and he wore a cape and was a riot. We have seen them perform a number of times over the years, but always remember this song and seeing them for $5. They were great and we were glad to see their careers take off. Love their harmonies and energy.
Every time I hear the Oak Ridge Biys it takes me back to the late 70s- 80s at Six Flags over Texas. They played the amphitheater there a lot. Good times 🎉🎼
Joe, Joe, Joe💕 I went to so many Oaks concerts, and you were the one whose voice could put a chill down my spine. I’ll always adore you. And when I play my OAK RIDGE BOYS albums(yep, still play my vinyl), or the CDs, or stream…yours is the voice I concentrate on. And tenor is the part I sing too.💕🎶💔
Thank you for this video. My younger brother and I are on opposite sides of the planet right now and we reminisced about our childhood, which included this song.
Outside of William Lee Golden leaving the group for about ten years (from about 1987-1996) These are the same four Oaks that have been together since 1973. Left to right: Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen, William Lee Golden (has the long gray beard today), and Richard Sterban. Usually on stage in that same order today. Golden and Allen have been with the group since the 1960's, when they were primarily gospel singers. Shortly after Sterban and Bonsall joined in 1973 they switched to Country and Gospel.
It wasn't the African American Donna Summers to whom he was engaged. It was a completely different individual. This was addressed in one of the books about the ORB in which they discussed how the rumormill and various "gossip" publications had hurt them at different times in their careers.
Mobile Alabama loves The Oakridge Boys...especially William Lee Golden...a PROUD Brewton Alabama man... Brewton Alabama is about 70 miles north of Mobile Alabama.
RIP Joe Bonsall. Country music will never be the same.
These Boys are my most favorite group of singers! Love Joe (may he rest in peace) Duane William and Richard!
Y'all come back saloon, sail away and Kenny Rogers She Believes In Me are 3 country songs I could hear over and over and never grown tire of.
The Oak Ridge boys are the reason I Started listening to country music

The oaks are great, nothing like that today
Joe with a fro, Golden with a very short beard, and not a touch of gray in any of them, this has to be before I was born (1979)
@hoff1967 That's Johnny Gimble on fiddle (wrong Texas Playboy; Tommy was the singer). Johnny played fiddle on the record of this as well.
Was this whole show on video>?
Nice drum set
The song is "Y'all Come Back Saloon"--not "She Played Tambourine". Give me a break.😒💒
What happened to country singing groups
About any male in the crowd could have been "Cowoy", by the way what is: the Late Night Benadiction to the Ya All C ome Back Sallon?
This is the same concert when they sang their Grammy winning hit Just a little talk with Jesus.
I'd love to know who is playing the piano.
Great song! Great group!😊💒
Garland Craft is the keyboard player. He is a wonderful man! He and I had lunch together about a year ago. What a precious man with a godly heart!
I wonder if the drums are pearl
