Khorne's campaign is one of the most unique ones. I once summoned Skarbrand to Naggaroth when a Cult popped up over there very early in the game purely for laughs but Skarbrand is a very "get shit done" type of guy, so he just kept piling up skulls until the edgelords' lands were all mine.
@@bighoss1860I also find he's that type of guy but sometimes the game pretends like he can't move anymore and so we have to stall his getting it done to reload a previous turn
When I first played against Skarband in the battlefield. I had my lord behind two frontline units, and he literally plowed right through them and smacked my lord around..., after that he must have felt bored or something because he proceeded to plowed right through another two stacks of units to smack my spellcaster. Never seen any lord do that before lol. I may have won the battle, but at the cost of my dignity.
I like how Skarbrands lore is that he's a Warhammer 40K deamon that tried to sneak attack Knorne. Knorne loved that Skarbrand attacked him, very on brand but was so disgusted that he tried to sneak attack him that he yeeted him through the warp so hard he ended up in fantasy.
N'Kari, Skarbrand, Ku Gath, Kairos Fatweaver, and The Changeling off the top of my head are all TWH lord daemons present in both Fantasy and 40k. It's not really just a Skarbrand thing. It's more just that reality means nothing to daemons so they're everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

I started a Skarbrand campaign the other day using this video as a guide and have been having so much fun. It's ~turn 35 and I have done a loop around the northern Badlands, leaving a trail of blood in a clockwise fashion. I made good friends with Malagor, Skarsnik, and Queek and the northern front is secure (Queek has like 10 settlements over the entire eastern mountain range and is even higher than me in strength rank; Skarsnik, him, and another minor Skaven faction bullied the hell out of the dwarves), and 15 turns after I embarrassed Settra and left him with only Khemri, he gets enough strength to take one of my settlements. Now as my blood hosts finish off the Court of Lybaras on the coast, Skarbrand is currently carving a path through some dwarfs on his way to finally bury Settra's bones for good, save for his skull which will make for a nice trophy. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! MILK FOR THE KHORNE FLAKES! KHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORNE!!!!!!!!!

I would actually recommend teleporting to the north as Skarbrand. In my testing a cult usually appears in the province with Blood Mountain very early on, and you can build a building to send him up there immediately. Once there, conquer the Khorne faction, Slaanesh faction, Sigvald, and then go in on the Dark Elves who are very wealthy. Blood Mountain also has the best unique building for Khorne imo. It reduces recruitment and upkeep for Exalted/regular Bloodletters by 30% and 25% factionwide. Plus there are a lot of ports which Khorne gets pretty good money from, and with the trophy wrack in those settlements you can make even more money.

Something i always did with old useless bloodhosts is disband every troop but the blood host lord and use the benefits of bloodletting until he dies or loses the bonuses of bloodletting. Whichever came first.
Yesterday I started looking for videos to learn how this faction should be played and here you are, with a video exactly detailing how to do it. Thanks.
My biggest hangup with Khorne is tied in with the Bloodletting mechanic. You have to fight a battle EVERY turn, since fighting only sets it to two, so when you end your turn you have to fight another one or it'll hit zero if you end again without fighting. No matter how aggressive I am, I usually just can't reach enemies! Stuff is spread out too far, and that sandy/swampy muck near where you spawn just eats campaign movement like no other. Some settlements are two turns in force march away, and I just can't move around fast enough to keep the meter filled up.
If I may add Do not eliminate thorgrim or ikit....run them down to last minor settlement then leave 4 small army of 1 normal army and 3 blood host...then keep sacking them every turn......replace lord to farm trait when their LL respawn This way after sometime.... in mid-late game you will have so much growth(8 army with max bloodletting) and research rate
By far my favorite faction. Never get sick of playing khorne. I was struggling with immortal empires a bit but khorne is a pretty straight forward faction.
Man, if I could give this video a thumbs up twice I would. I've viewed it so many times i'm going to download it along with the flow chart. Excellent work sir.
Khorne is easily my favourite faction to play just *barely* behind the Empire as Karl Franz. Vanilla Skatbrand is a monster but with the Khorne Compilation mod by Trajann... oh baby it's a riot
Love these you suck videos, just came across the tzeentch one looking for a guide on them and have now binge watched all the warhammer 3 content. Please keep these up for each faction. hilarious, informative and extremely helpful understanding what makes the faction unique!
Dude they way you explain this whole video is how I played SkarBrand already. I’m just shocked people didn’t know this stuff good video and perfect advice.
Fantastic video dude! I have all of the DLC's , save SoC, and I still only play Khorne. I started the campaign as my intro to this series and have been hooked ever since! I love the fighting and the constant ever search for skulls and blood! 👹
I appreciate this video having done my first and so far, only Khorne campaign with less knowledge to work with, including the Blood Host diminishing returns. I learned to use Skarbrand half-decently, but not THAT well, per the collision damage. Thanks a lot for contributing to community knowledge. I got plagueclaw catapults myself.
Thanks man, your vids combined with some legendary lord lore videos really help me understand how to play the game better. Just started up a Khorne campaign and it's so much easier now that I know when to raze sack occupy etc
Hey dude! LOVED your video, may I use your chart as reference for a completely different OC race I am building? I took mega inspiration from the Khorne campaign mechanics, but holy hell dude, this is really REALLY well done. Love this, and thank you for making this video (and chart!)
Thank you so much for your kind words, they're much appreciated. Please feel free to use the chart I made in whatever way you feel like using it. You can laminate a copy and use it as a table-mat, if you choose. Let me know how the OC race goes.
I have now discovered this channel and must say I approve. Good information, quite enjoy the calm tone and voice, excellent for both learning and calm enough to listen as trying to sleep and soak in information. Still shit at Total Warhammer, but this should help and *maybe* make me start liking Khorne despite really missing ranged, proper artillery, and magic.
Thanks a bunch mate! I didn't want to give up on Skarbrand and that's exactly the video I was looking for! Especially for repeating the essentials throughout the video, great pedagogy right there, it keeps the red ( blood ) line straight :)) The written guide is the cherry on the cake. Now I can waste the entire world, backed by the economy of Greece.
Just noticed I've been watching without subbing... probably because I quickly start new game after watching.... today I've corrected this long-standing mistake... Subbed
I was super happy to learn that I was already doing most of these things, I do still need to be more aggressive, and I should be using my skulls more. But other than that, I'm doing pretty good at not sucking at Khorne! Even though I am late to this video, I was still glad to have seen it!
Thank you! I knew I was doing something wrong. By turn, 6 I was running a +$1000 deficit and unable to see a way to climb out. Sack first changes everything.
First time total war player learning how to play on the shiniest and newest entry. Watched mandalore’s review, and decided to try skarbrand based on his description. While accurate, the finer details were not elaborated on. My first attempt is going poorly and skarbrand is not in good shape in terms of skills. I’m feeling a lot more confident with your guide, showing the key pillars to success. It’s one thing for someone to say “blood for the blood god, always be fighting” and entirely another thing for you to tell me how I should be fighting. Thank you for the succinct and simple explanation. Earned a sub, even if I never touch total war again.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hey, have you watched Killer Sally? I hear it's ok. I haven't watched it yet, pretty hungover and have some wild Sunday dread. Hey, have you watched The playing card killer?

Hey something I want to double check... do Bloodhosts still have HIDDEN supply lines, or did that actually get fixed? Haven't had a chance to check myself, but they definitely used to impose supply line penalties.
I haven't even watched this yet, but I can already tell I'm about to be BLESSED beyond belief. Edit: 12 minutes in, please don't steal my doggo. Not that I have to steal, but if I ever get one, don't steal him or her either.
Wow! What an amazing video, I played Khorne when Immortal Empires came out and I was playing him like a empire-building faction where I occupied every single settlement lol, this type of sacking and razing playstyle (and seeing my upkeep in red) is definitely out of my comfort zone but I will give it a try and probably play with some khorne unit mods on my next campaign!
Id like to reveal another little known gem for skarbrand campaign. By turn 10-15 you will get enough khorne corruption to have a cult pop up in one of the settlements of the northern chaos waste khorne faction. If you teleport skarbrand there via the cult, and take over the northern khorne factions settlements, in one of the minor settlements there is a secret Khorne landmark, that gives 30% recruitment and upkeep cost reduction for bloodletters and exalted bloodletters factionwide. The landmark will allow the player to raise and spam full bloodletter armies crazy fast. and later in the game one of the techs gives bonus replenishment rate for bloodletter units. With the combo of the landmark and replenishment tech you can flood the map with bloodletters. I personaly love cheap full bloodletter armies with the landmark. Bloodletters with their speed, very hard hitting AP and tanky lords and heroes leading the charge can very quickly swarm most armies and cut them to shreds in a few seconds making most manual battles end fast. And you can raise, spam and disband multiple armies all over the world. Using the combo i finished a very hard long campaign at turn 45 and domination victory at turn 80.
Marauder Horsemen absolutely own early on. You need the recruitment building anyway for Cultists and Halbs and these dudes are shockingly effective in melee for a skirmish cavalry. Friendship with doggos has ended, now Brothas in Bloodlettin' is my new favorite friend
First faction I tried, it's literally the easiest if you are naturally really aggressive and find holding back a sin in real life as in gaming. This faction plays EXACTLY like you would feel it should.
A.I. "Smart" enough to focus him. Do you mean Cheap enough instead of Smart? (because A.I. focus firing Lords and spell casters is a real problem when most there missal unites should be helping front)
So in warhammer 3, I mean smart enough. They focus fire high value targets if they're a large entity, so they can easily pop skarbrand. Even a few orc arrer boys in the early game present a significant threat if you leave skarbrand in combat without moving him.
I used skarbrand more as shock cav rather than a chariot- but you're right. His mass is high enough that punching through to hit stuff behind like a chariot is something he's probably better at. I never bothered with Chaos Warriors. Bloodletter will take most early to mid game things in 1v1. So I made sure every bloodletter unit I had was facing off against one of the enemies units. I mean, you both have 20 units- just make sure they can't wall anyone behind a back line. Go full encirclement. Fast movers were usually used to go after- not archers or artillery- but enemy cav. Swap to exalted bloodletters ASAP. And spam the *shit* out of bloodhosts. There is no reason you shouldn't outnumber and outgun the enemy in every single engagement. none. And since bloodhosts are short lived no matter what you do, don't bother trying to preserve them. Crushing them into enemy defenses, send them charging into gunlines. They are completely expendable- so give them all the high casualty jobs while your main force of elite skull-takers comes in for the kill. Honestly, fastest and easiest campaign victory I ever got. Khornes crazy tempo and extreme strength let's you just roll up everyone before they can even find their footing. Literally completed the campaign in about a third of the time it took me with other factions. I mostly just used my provinces as speedbumps. The garrisons are actually strong enough where, with some Micro, you can win against your average army- but by late game they'll get folded. Then again, by late game you've probably already won.
Khorne was one of the first armies I tried and I adore the feel of it. It's where I learned auto resolve hates daemons, everyone hates Skarbrand, and how much I hate any unit that's not actively in combat. There shall be no rest
@@BlakesTakes420 Thanks for the reply! I'd say they nailed it too, I found myself actually getting frustrated with enemies running away. There's not nearly enough war to support my wartime economy

Raze settlement with blood for the blood God, blood hosts have a guaranteed chance of having a bloodthirster with a certain tech. Blood hosts can get high tier units in them.
What's your highest settlement level?
@@BlakesTakes420 it got sacked by the AI so I'm back to tier one lmao i haven't played Khorne campaigns yet, doing like Archaon immortal atm with the same goal, kill all skavens lul
now THIS is a proper in depth guide, cheers for making this!
You're very welcome!
As a Slaanesh Main, please... do her next. I am curious if I can improve my gameplay with the help of your guide after finishing 3 games with N'kari. There can never be enough excess and perfection, we need to aim higher and faster.
Katarina is next but Slannesh will see her time in the sun
Something i always did with old useless bloodhosts is disband every troop but the blood host lord and use the benefits of bloodletting until he dies or loses the bonuses of bloodletting. Whichever came first.
It's a good way of doing it, if you can remember to check the bloodletting bar!
Yesterday I started looking for videos to learn how this faction should be played and here you are, with a video exactly detailing how to do it. Thanks.
You're most welcome, let me know how the campaign goes.
Head to the desert, there's lots of enemies down there sir
Ah skaven always helping out my favorite armies
Auxiliaraties in this game
Globadiers in mordheim
Love me auxillaratties
If I may add
Do not eliminate thorgrim or ikit....run them down to last minor settlement then leave 4 small army of 1 normal army and 3 blood host...then keep sacking them every turn......replace lord to farm trait when their LL respawn
This way after sometime.... in mid-late game you will have so much growth(8 army with max bloodletting) and research rate
I'm not crazy about defeat trait harvesting, I know it's very powerful, but it's pretty high dairy for me.
Thanks for your comment :)
Very good video my fellow tea drinker. Can’t wait for the next video 👍
Get the kettle on.
By far my favorite faction. Never get sick of playing khorne. I was struggling with immortal empires a bit but khorne is a pretty straight forward faction.
so the thing about Khorne is...
MAIM, KILL, BURN! MAIM, KILL, BURN!
0:25 My campaign will no longer be forlorn, it will be for khorn!
That's the spirit.
I'm a vanilla man myself, but I do love the creative mods coming out at the moment.
Love these you suck videos, just came across the tzeentch one looking for a guide on them and have now binge watched all the warhammer 3 content. Please keep these up for each faction. hilarious, informative and extremely helpful understanding what makes the faction unique!
You're very kind for saying so
please don't steal my dog
You've nothing to fear...
*if* you've subbed.
@@BlakesTakes420 i have, i swear
I've been playing since the release of Warhammer 1 and these are without a doubt the best guides I've seen. Cheers!
Thank you for your kind words friend!
Yeah uhm… i just wanted learn some tips, i didn’t need you to describe my entire life while talking about diminishing returns 😅
Sorry man.
lol it got way too real way too fast
Dude they way you explain this whole video is how I played SkarBrand already. I’m just shocked people didn’t know this stuff good video and perfect advice.
Thank you for your kind words
Bro might be Khorne💀
Fantastic video dude! I have all of the DLC's , save SoC, and I still only play Khorne. I started the campaign as my intro to this series and have been hooked ever since! I love the fighting and the constant ever search for skulls and blood! 👹
Thank you sir!
Radious mod1-4 just adds so much more flavour for him some of what u said I already figured out and some I had not. Great video
Glad you enjoyed it sir.
Plague claw catapults? A man of culture, I see.
@@BlakesTakes420 Arigatou. I try.
I got this game purely for Khorne and Skarbrand, I have never been near any War Hammer game in my life. This video was incredibly helpful.
Glad to be of service sir. 🎩
Bro you helped me out with nurgle. Now I move onto khorne knowing nothing about him but knowing I must try to be a big scary red lizard now
You got this man. Go get those skulls.
Thanks man, your vids combined with some legendary lord lore videos really help me understand how to play the game better. Just started up a Khorne campaign and it's so much easier now that I know when to raze sack occupy etc
Glad to be of service sir. I wish you good fortune in the wars to come.
I am glad to see that silhouette artists aren't getting replaced by AI anytime soon. :)
God bless Silhouette artists and their craft.
Thank you for this Video, I just started with this game and chose Khorn. Your tips on Troups and Buildings realy helped me
I love to hear it! Glad it helped!
The bit about Skarbrand's collision charge is absolute gold, also the student handout is incredible
Glad to be of service sir!
Watching these animations made me realize something. Skarbrand and others like him are just BALROG's without the fire.
I am a servant of the secret fire, wielder of the flame of Arnor, the Dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udun.
*Go back to the shadows*
I have now discovered this channel and must say I approve. Good information, quite enjoy the calm tone and voice, excellent for both learning and calm enough to listen as trying to sleep and soak in information.
Still shit at Total Warhammer, but this should help and *maybe* make me start liking Khorne despite really missing ranged, proper artillery, and magic.
Thank you so much for your comment, really appreciate it! 🫶
Thanks a bunch mate! I didn't want to give up on Skarbrand and that's exactly the video I was looking for!
Especially for repeating the essentials throughout the video, great pedagogy right there, it keeps the red ( blood ) line straight :))
The written guide is the cherry on the cake. Now I can waste the entire world, backed by the economy of Greece.
use this knowledge to lacerate the world.
Just noticed I've been watching without subbing... probably because I quickly start new game after watching....
today I've corrected this long-standing mistake... Subbed
Thank you sir!
I was super happy to learn that I was already doing most of these things, I do still need to be more aggressive, and I should be using my skulls more. But other than that, I'm doing pretty good at not sucking at Khorne! Even though I am late to this video, I was still glad to have seen it!
These videos are god tier. Plz keep at it.
Total war warhammer 3 is sick but it’s impossible to find informational content.
More on its way 🔜
Thank you! I knew I was doing something wrong. By turn, 6 I was running a +$1000 deficit and unable to see a way to climb out. Sack first changes everything.
Thanks for the tips man also your comedic side was pretty funny bro nice video. This game is a lot to learn but it's very fun and atmospheric
Glad you enjoyed it sir. I wish you good fortune in the wars to come.
Earned a sub, even if I never touch total war again.
what a lovely comment. The total war franchise has a lot to offer, despite my critiques of it - I do hope you stick around. ;)
Thank you for the sub!
You had me absolutely rolling with the dimishing returns rat race bit
Glad you enjoyed it.
Hey, have you watched Killer Sally?
I hear it's ok. I haven't watched it yet, pretty hungover and have some wild Sunday dread.
Hey, have you watched The playing card killer?
ah, just realised it's Monday now - guess it's no longer Sunday dread, and just "week-long dread" now.
16:35 I noticed a cannon ball bounce off the front of the skull cannon and appear to flatten a bloodletter from behind. I didn't even know that was possible.
Good spot. Yeah they really upped the physics on the Cathay cannons I feel.
Bloody brilliant video! Definitely entertaining! Are you using any mods for this video?
Thank you so much. No mods I only play vanilla. Some footage I use Nvidia geforce to edit aesthetically
@@BlakesTakes420 all good! I wanted to know how you got the demon prince of Khorne Lord for your army? Is that unlocked through Champions of Chaos dlc?
Hey something I want to double check... do Bloodhosts still have HIDDEN supply lines, or did that actually get fixed?
Haven't had a chance to check myself, but they definitely used to impose supply line penalties.
I think it was fixed a couple of patches ago, don't quote me on that though.
I haven't even watched this yet, but I can already tell I'm about to be BLESSED beyond belief.
Edit: 12 minutes in, please don't steal my doggo. Not that I have to steal, but if I ever get one, don't steal him or her either.
You're too kind 🫶
This channel is great! Keep the videos coming and you are going to grow it really fast.🙂
Thank you for your kind words! Much appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed it!
first video ive watched on total warhammer 3 that actually makes me feel like im learning to play the game thanks
@@fuccix you're very welcome sir.
Are you planning to do this type of content on every playable faction ?
Hopefully! If there's appetite for them.
Beautiful analysis ! we want more
Thanks for the sub! Much appreciated, and welcome. ❤️
Your best video yet, well done sir. Absolutely brilliant!
Very kind of you to say so, thank you
I've played to campaigns with Skarbrand and i've never really used Soul Grinders or Bloodthirsters because rarely do i reach tier 5 buildings.
Diminishing returns bit hits a bit too hard... love it tho. Thanks for the great stuff!
Glad you like it! Thanks for the comment.
fantastic video.... very informative and quality use of memes, that dont over do it and dont distract too much from the video.
Thank you for the kind words. 🙏
Marauder Horsemen absolutely own early on. You need the recruitment building anyway for Cultists and Halbs and these dudes are shockingly effective in melee for a skirmish cavalry. Friendship with doggos has ended, now Brothas in Bloodlettin' is my new favorite friend
I don't even play immortal empire, and yet i thoroughly enjoy theese episodes
Thank you for your kind words, they're much appreciated!
Loved diminishing returns explanation, so great!
Thank you for your lovely comment friend. Appreciate you!
OK, watched several videos of your my lad, but from 21:20 you did it, you conquered me, suscribed
Glad to have converted you sir. 🫶
Skar's charge is the same as Lu Bu's charge. Always aim for the unit behind
Mhmmm
It’s a great play depriving the economic power araby provides. All those ports and landmarks too.
First faction I tried, it's literally the easiest if you are naturally really aggressive and find holding back a sin in real life as in gaming. This faction plays EXACTLY like you would feel it should.
Unlimited power.
Aye, I live grabbing some rat pets for my khorn campaigns.
Love that you recommend it.
A man of culture, I see.
I love this video - really helped my Skarbrand campaign
Thank you!
Awesome video and a good balance of information and funnyness. Also I like your voice.
Thank you! More coming 🔜
They really nailed thd theme I think. Thanks for your comment.
@@BlakesTakes420 Thanks for the reply! I'd say they nailed it too, I found myself actually getting frustrated with enemies running away. There's not nearly enough war to support my wartime economy
Dude this is such a good video. Absolutely hilarious. The diminishing depression solidified the like and sub lmao
Thank you sir, really appreciate your kind words.
