Hi Ryu! I made the Sen's Fortress level (was the 5th level I ever made, and I never played SMM1 so you can tell there are some amateurish elements to it) I came back from vacation and got a notification you had played one of my levels, and was hoping it might show up in one of your vids. I was guessing it had to be endless super expert and i was right! Thanks for the like. I've watched many of your videos, so getting a like is a huge compliment. I'm surprised you died as many times as you did given some of the levels I've seen in this series xD. I was laughing the whole time. For those interested my maker-ID is WD8-CGJ-PYG. I've made a few 'recreations' of dark souls levels in addition to my own. If you're a fan of the series I try to capture a tough but fair dynamic and I hope you enjoy.
@@guillermobiasini3755 supposed to be the iron golem. this level was made before the koopalings (and while i was learning even the most basic contraptions/tricks of making levels). If i were to make it today i'd probably use a large koopaling instead.
That level was very good, and I truly recognized the Fortress! I was just somewhat disappointed that making the "iron golem" fall did not give the key!
@@baconenjoyer oh okey. I thought the Boom Boom was the Iron Golem. That is probably one of the giants on the fortress then. Again, great job man. Gonna open SMM2 tonight for the first time in months just to see your levels.
That sens fortress level was incredible. They really captured the feeling of the level which is awesome considering how massively different the games are. Having the different paths, the basement, the boulders with a way to stop them, the mimic, the bonfire, boom booms as the giants, a bowser you can knock off the side as iron golem, and even just matching the feeling of the atmosphere with the backgrounds and climbing up the fortress to the roof . That level creator was so creative and has a great eye for detail The roof was weird with those jumps but hey, at least they figured out a way to actually make the level as difficult as the real sens fortress on a first attempt haha
The rooftop jump is probably a nod towards everyone who was not in the lowest equip load class that had to (thanks to the horrible jumping controls) awkwardly jump over the gad to reach the Crestfallen Merchant.
The sens fortress one was actually pretty good it wasnt anywhere near an exact replica but they represented each individual aspect pretty good. I enjoy the moles with the chain chomps on their heads to represent the snake dudes.
I will say, the only part I didn't like was the suit check. Dark souls doesn't require damage taken to progress aside from running through lava with a ring on.
We're talking about the Link/Superball level, right? "How was that the entire level. Super expert ladies and gentlemen" He seemed bored by it, as if it was too easy to even have fun in.
I've seen hybrids too, though. Where it starts as never leave the ground, then switches to never leave the air midway through. Never leave the air is still the far more fun version. The hybrids are just a tedious wait before you get to that.
The hard jump is just a reference to the hard jump in the game to get to the tower with the vendor and a chest! It couldn’t really be hard the same way so they made it pixel perfect kinda like the one in DS. Weird that sending iron golem off wouldn’t give you a key though. Also after the flag the grapple thing is supposed to represent the imps that fly you to anor Londo! Really cool level and pretty faithful! Also the boom boom by the key door is the giant that activates the gate, you get there basically the same way through an hidden door from the bottom floor like with that vine.
We all know that this two parter, like many before, will end up with the second part starting out with a level that will singlehandedly take away all of your precious lives.
"I love Dark Souls." *Three seconds later* "I hate Dark Souls!" -most people's reactions when playing Dark Souls Kind of related, if you enjoyed Dark Souls, you should give Blasphemous a try. It's a Souls-like game that's a lot of fun with amazing music!
I'm working to get the rest of the achievements I missed in my first run right now. Mainly "Mediterranean Diet", no flask boss fights, and the bridge speed run.
In the fortress there are actually two big jumps, like in the level hahahah. The one you remembered that gets you to the merchant and the one to reach the first giant, the big boy who takes the boulders and puts them in the mechanism that flings them at you
Yup its darksoul and the boomboom are the giant there is 3 total in the forteresse i think u missed some path. The first Boulder is the ramp on the right of the forteresse with even the magic snake on top. Dude i love that level the super big jumps was not in darksouls...except for 1 hiden place. Yup even the backgroud represent the s'en forteres that u need to climb up its awsome
That sen's fortress level was pretty damn faithful honestly. Every section of the level are really well done and recognizable if you've played dark souls recently, those moles + chain chomps are the lizards, you have a mimic, rolling boulders (even with the lizard getting splattered), the elevator with the spikes at the top, the dart trap at the entrance, switching the falling boulders around, etc.
That hammerbro ending was actually pretty tame as they target you where you are and so you will pretty much always be able to jump over the hammers. It just looks intimidating
I never get tired of these videos. Also, that fight with the Boom Booms and the Bowsers in stage 5 was awesome! 19:22. Furthermore, the multiplayer videos are great too, they are very funny to watch, like the key battles are hilarious. Good luck on S+ pink. No doubt you'll get there soon.
The 2 first levels was just pure greatness from the smb2 one to the dark souls one. And overall this entire episode had pretty good ones overall it seems

Love the mario content. Multiplayer content is on point and great to watch. Only gripe I have is splitting a super expert run into 2 videos as I'd happily sit and watch an hour of these. Whatever the case, thank you for all the entertainment and keep up the good work :)
The end of Sen's Fortress had a pretty sizeable jump to a side tower and there were a few other big jump spots you could get around to areas. None of it was the main progression I don't think. Really awesome recreation.
There is always something intriguing abour your videos. They are always interesting, since you seem very experienced and have a cool attitude towards obstacles. Thumbs up for your content!!
