I just got my PRD-717 and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I guess Im going to have to get that 627 as well! But i ordered my 717 about a week ago and i used your discount code and it actually saved me 12% and brought my total down to $267USD shipped. UNBEATABLE performance at that price point. Better than my Tekna ProLite and my Sata 5000b RP in my opinion. I was thinking about getting the MP needle set for the 717 but i'll definitely be picking up a 627. Super fan of the split nozzle spray pattern. Great video as always! CHEERS PETE!
Hi Mate, they are good, aren't they 😁, it will be worth getting the MP tip set as it really makes it another gun again, it's makes it a Sata 5000 RP but even faster, which is a real blast to use, excellent fun 😀 It's good to hear the code helped , cheers, mate 👍
for panel wipe.. I buy denatured alcohol in 5L bottles. Mix it 75/25% with distilled water.. and pour it all into a 25L barrel... I can make 25L barrel of it, for around £25... Which isnt bad, Considering the price of pre-made solvent cleaners for panels... :) As for clear coat.. I personally love the OSCCAR HS 916... Comes as a package with Slow hardener. and seams to really hold its gloss amazing!
Hi Buddy, Yes, the speed of the hardener normally makes a difference. The slower the better normally for gloss retention. I use a similar concoction for my pre wipe, the main difference I find with panel wipe and alcohol/water mix is with painted decals and the like, the alcohol wipe can remove some of the base coat when cleaning up after airbrushing, panel wipe doesn't so I often use than rather the the alcohol mix, cheers mate, thanks for the information 👍
Hi Lesli, What's good about this is it's different from the 717, not loads but it is there, it's a great reason to own both 😀 😂 , cheers mate, thanks as always 👍
Thanks Scott, it needed a de nib and a polish, which I did afterwards, looked really nice afterwards, but it looked lovely straight off the gun as you saw in the video, cheers mate 👍
Hi Pete hope you are keeping ok mate, the PRD627 really laid the clear down nice on the tank I couldn't see hardly any peel in the clear which is good for a gun finish that was very impressive mate👏👏 I noticed your name on the gun handle which must be a nice touch for your collection, I'm really pleased Porphis did that for you Pete👌I could see a bit more peel in the wing you did at the lower pressure but as you say there is nothing wrong with that as it's a good OEM finish and it's good that the 717 can lay the clear better at the lower pressures as it makes both guns different so now I know I can get both guns and like you have a good excuse for having two of them😁 I've just had some expensive bills to sort so I'm not sure when I will get one of these atm😧😠 thanks mate👍
Hi John, I was quite happy that this was a little different from the 717. It just makes it more viable to have the pair, then, when you add the 625 or 715 setup, it gives you loads of options. Yes, it was nice of Porphis to put my name on the gun, I have a few with my name on now, which is great , thank mate 👍
Hi pete that yamaha petrol ⛽️ tank what a lovely colour mate all thease phorpis 717 1.3 is that a base gun so do there do a clear coat paint gun pete is that phorpis 627 1.3 split nozzle a clear coat paint gun 🔫 😊
Hi Andy, The 627 is either, so it will happily spray base or clear coats. The 717 will also do either, but as I explained in the video, they are a little different in the way they go about it, cheers mate 👍
Hey Pete I'm having trouble laying down both clear coat and waterborne base coat with this gun. What pressures do you recommend. The clear is laying down a bit too peely and chunky and I'm getting a bit of mottle in course metallic grey colours. Coming from sata sprayguns which lays everything nice and smooth for me
Hi Mate, Have you tried the pattern on some paper or similar, just to make sure it's laying down OK? For HS Clear Coat applications with this gun, I have been using anything between 1.3bar and 1.8bar, the latter being the best for finish, and it's capable of great finishes when you find the sweet spot. Basedcoat has many variations, I mainly use solvent basecoat, the settings vary from 1.3 bar to 1.5bar, fluid anything between 2 1/2 and 3 out, I also hold the gun further away, for base around 175 to 200mm, for clear around 125 to 150mm
Thanks for replying, I have tested the pattern on some masking on the side of a car and it did seem normal and even. We use uhs clear at work and I’m thinking this gun might not be suitable for it. My sata 1.2 o atomises the uhs clear super nicely I will give the porphis another try though
I would like to know as well, I was using the PRD717 1.3 yesterday, comparing it against the WS400 osb and WS400 clear series 2, the Porphis is so easy to use and can go really low in pressure without problems, difficult to see how you can't get on with it
Hi Mate, it's a custom color that I buy. Unfortunately, I don't have a code, so I can't mix it, I bought it here, nuagane.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/nu0101_0000.jpg

15 cfm is quite high air consumption
Hi Buddy, It's only 15cfm at 2 bar/29psi. Most of the time, this can be used at less than that, so the consumption comes down
Great job, mate!
Cheers, Ben, much appreciated 👍
que trabalho de profissional meu Deus
Thank you 😊, much appreciated 🙏
Hey,do you know what blue is this one? Paint code?
Hi Mate, Yes, It's Yamaha DPB, which is Deep Purpleish Blue, some versions are a 3 stage, depending on the system its mixed from
@@peteshobbies5383 thanks mr Pete,it sure is dpb but there’s a lot, seems to be dpbse but not sure about that
DPBMC is the version in my system

@JMMedia Let me know how you get on, I think it will just be a matter of what settings work for you with the materials you've using
@@JMMedia Did you ever get it figured out?

My friend Pete, I am a good follower of yours. You should give me one of these weapons as a gift. You have an arsenal, man 😅
Hi Mate, I will do a giveaway one day, maybe when we get to 10,000 subscribers 😀
@@peteshobbies5383 😒
Get a job bud
I'll use any excuse too convince myself to buy another gun 😂😂👍
I know that feeling only too well, mate 😂
