I have the GLS and i agree. Not just driving but the little things such as seat comfort, easy entry, Burmester speakers, massaging seats, and just the MBUX is simply superior. You don’t feel it, but when you drive something else (namely a cayenne under $100k), you’ll miss those features

I have a GLE 350 4Matic and it rides very well! The interior is amazing it is comfortable and steady. Mercedes understands class and comfort like no other. I will try the 450 to see if the 6 cylinder really makes a difference. I know my 350 does very well on the HWY as I commute long distances to work and have no problems at all.
Please note that the engine is not the only difference between the 350 and the models above it. The 350 gets a lower-end AWD system, that has an open differential that splits power 50/50, and then uses the brakes of the car for power apportioning away from the slipping wheel. The 450 and above models, get a totally different AWD system, called "Torque on Demand" by Mercedes, and typically drives with a majority of the power going to the rear wheels, but can do 0/100 and 100/0 power apportioning from the front to rear and vice-versa. This rear-wheel biased default power split, gives a different dynamic than the understeer prone 50/50 split of the GLE350.
Just love that interior color, including the brown leather and the brown walnut wood. Thankfully it is not the horrible black that makes the interior look small, funereal and claustrophobic.
Subscribed in part for the comment that all the dealers have is black and white (or grey). Man, we used to make fun of "Soviet Fashion Shows" with every woman dressed in grey. There are many used Mercedes in grey, but only 1 in 50 red or maroon.
They forgot to mention the annoying clunking sound that occurs when the rear camera activates when crossing above or below 18 mph. Ruins a very quiet car.
If it could only be reliable, but from our experience - this has been absolutely worst vehicle we ever owned when it come to dependability. CR isn't lying...
@@SoCalJS We had ML350 and issues were not isolated to one area - engine, electronic, all wheel drive system, suspension... Overall the car is assembled from very poor quality of components that notoriously fail. I agree initially it is a very appealing vehicle, but it quickly turns into a bag of loose bolts.
Not true. My 2024 GLE450, delivered just last month, has a built-in dashcam, it is part of the augmented reality navigation option. Air suspension was also available but I didn't want it.
I considered this car, but that was untill I read about all its faults. As I understand it was/is made in the US and not Germany. Maybe that is the reason for all the problems?
Do you really think cars made in Germany are better? It doesn’t matter the location of the factory. They all use same processes and procedures to assemble cars as dictated by MB.
I initially wanted to order the 450 but then it was under 10k vs the 53. It didn’t make sense to get the 450 then. 63S is insanely priced. 40k over the 53 price.
I did the same but the dealer wasn’t interested in me spec the amg 53 at 92k, so made me wait a yr and refunded my deposit, unfortunately it isn’t a 10k difference between a 450 to a amg 53, try over 20k before they’ll submit ur 105k plus 53, they’ll make u wait and wait and let a higher specd more profitable amg to be sent in factory and kick ur below 100k specd out wo so much a “sorry for the yr long wait for nothing”
With this brown seats I agree. If you get black seats it looks really amazing inside. Me and wife test drove Cayenne, X5, LX and GLE and both liked interior of GLE above the rest. The amount of quality wood and aluminum inside just makes it more premium looking inside.
@@ohheyalan123 this video is very honest when you spec a 450 with options that you want or almost need depending on your situation. It’s almost 90 grand.
I don't like the way Mercedes keeps using the old man Towncar transmission shift handle on the steering column. Also that dash layout looks so old and out of date.
I love the transmission shift handle. Merc was the first to come up with that. Saves space and look better than a huge ugly stick in the middle between seats.
People don’t understand at all! The GLE is an experience! It’s truly something else to drive as an suv!

I purchased this model (GLE450), one year ago, and I love it!
I have the gcl 300 with the 4 cylinder, that engine is appropriate for that size but the engine would struggle in that size of suv.
this was a great review

Great info great presentation
When is the gle going to be redesigned? Not just refreshed
How come, you don't mention the GLE580 as a comparison to the 450?
Do you have a video on the 2024 GMC 1500 AT4X 3.0 AEV ?
I'm in the process of specing a 450e with plug in hybrid. I think it's the best GLE to get.
GLE 450 or BMW x5 xdrive 40i for overall better car also want it to at least 8 years which one?
not a fan of facelift. front headlights looks dumb
I think the suv version of 53 and 63 looks more aggressive than x5 and cayenne.
Just love that interior color, including the brown leather and the brown walnut wood. Thankfully it is not the horrible black that makes the interior look small, funereal and claustrophobic.
I have this leather in my car and it so dam durable !

beautiful exterior, elderly interior design is the downside for me.
What has the best interior in the class? TIA! 😊

You have to pay more for sound deadening on a luxury car. 🤣. What a joke. I take a Pilot over this any day.
You also have to pay $2k for driver assistance which is standard on Lexus, Toyota, Kia, Honda, etc…
I like Gle and pilot
