I don’t understand how you have a basically unlimited possibility of a roster and you make a game that discourages you to get the fun of the roster. This game could have ben 10, Elmo, Freedy Kruger, Audrey tombs, static shock, samurai Jack, DAMN WICK AND BOOMSTICK FROM DEATH BATTLE IF THEY TRULY WANTED TO, osmosis jones and thrax, Austin powers, Johnny bravo, Kevin 11, dio maybe, Gandalf, Sauron, if they wanted to Mike Tyson from that adult swim show, Jackie Chan, scorpion or any mortal kombat character. (In particular Johnny cage so we can say hey this character just got nut punched) and that’s just from the top of my head there’s probably more I’m not thinking of I want it to succeed
It is my personal opinion that moving to unreal 5 was unnecessary and pretty much ruined the game on so many levels i wish they just kept updating the beta instead
If I remember correctly people have said that you can directly port unreal 4 projects to unreal 5, so the argument that "Changing the engine was the cause for all the missing features from the beta" is invalid. I personally think those were all executive decisions from WB. Porting the game to unreal 5 was a good decision, but it's likely WB and PFG used the change as a scapegoat for the removed features.
@@surrealmeme8344 definitely not invalid. yes, you can import assets/projects from ue4 to ue5 but that doesn’t mean it’s going to work off the bat. some of those assets need to be redone or changed altogether so its supported by the new engine, hence why some people feel that game feels different. a bunch of the missing items were found in the game files anyway, so its there, its just being optimized.
Firstly, losing your stuff would immediately be enough to make me say "f this game" too. Thankfully I think I only lost Finn as an unlock but all my skins were safe. Why Finn was lost for so many people is beyond me. Secondly, I love MVS, I agree with PFG's decision to slow the game down but I also agree immensely with this video. I think you're the first person to bring up the Rested Bonus, and we need to advocate to bring it back. Modern events like grinding out 75 character levels over 3 days for a paltry 100 gleamium was fucking disgusting. Or the even more recent Top Dog Challenge that gave you a shitty badge for just having the most playtime. I shouldn't have to log in every day to get the most out of the battle pass. After reading Jason Schreier's exposé on S-Squad: "hurt" the Justice League I'm convinced WB put their grubby fingers all over this game and I get sad on behalf of Tony. I doubt he wanted this mobile game bullshit in this game, and I think PFG has been fighting with their publishing arm to get things like BP XP per match back. Yet, Tony being the figurehead, he's taking all the heat. As a diehard fan, I love this game's combat way more than Smash, I feel like this game is going to die and I don't have a lot of faith that it'll make it to its 2nd year of development. Unfair progression, challenges that require specific characters or cosmetics regardless if you own them or not, predatory pricing like the lowest tier bundle only giving 450 gleamium when the cheapest skin is 500, no local queuing, all characters locked for local play, being online only, no silly queue the list literally goes on. I want to love this game again, I want to defend Tony but we need a massive tidal wave of criticism and decreasing player counts to pull whatever WB executive's head out of their ass to show them Tony's original vision from the beta was more fair and profitable. I was more than happy to buy the founder's pack at beta because I felt like my time was respected, I was earning new fighters at a decent rate and gold was a fair currency that could be spent for perks, characters, icons, or banners and was rewarded at a solid rate. I want to play more, but after I finish my dailies I log off as a mini sign of protest. Subtracting one more player of their concurrent player count after 20 minutes of play. Do I think we can save Multiverses? Probably not but I hope we can anyway.
Thank you for a level headed response. My vid is definitely a bit inflammatory, but it's out of love! I personally talked to some devs and esport folk on MVS. This game means a lot to me I also enjoy it more than current ultimate (when it works) but I really do not want it to go out like this! The protest ur doing is pretty solid, log in quick hop off quick and once changes are made we get back to playing!
As a harley main I'm so mad that the balloons float away and that EVERY FKN character seems to have some kinda armor except ones who's kit need it. Then she needs to be able to dodge but there's the same limit for every char when some characters(superman,WW, shaggy, lebron etc) don't need to dodge as much cuz they have ARMORED attacks
Tbh, we all know the characters people want are Mortal Kombat, Cartoon Network, and DC characters after those no one really cares any other characters. The amount of people i know who want Ben 10 and Samurai Jack in the game is crazy. I think they underestimate the massive catalog of CN characters they should be adding, hell ive been pining for Mordecai and Rigby. They need to be careful adding too many Looney Tune and Hanna-Barbara characters because although they're iconic they really aren't that popular amongst the age of the audience that plays the game.

And if we get too many too fast, then it’s gonna the anime sword fighter problem from Smash all over again. With people saying “oh they’re just adding all these Cartoon Network characters! Where’s my Walter White or Neo?” And I feel not enough people bring this into consideration when they beg for those CN reps. Remember, this is not Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion 2. I love these characters and I don't even know what Ben 10 is. Like what even is that. I guess these are kid characters. Maybe they market towards my generation because we're the 'whales' that actually pay to keep f2p games afloat.
It's actually simple and common sense why these live-service games keep failing. These live-service game developers are mostly under publicly traded companies that only value their shareholders. They are hesitant to invest in content because they don't really care about their games. In games like Fortnite and Genshin however, their developers are privately owned and they even self-publish their own games, meaning they can control every aspect of their game. If they decide to keep releasing content, no shareholders will be complaining. Now I know Epic Games has investors like Tencent, but investors don't really have any power to dictate the game.

its absolute trash that multiversus a live service beta that ended up shutting down for a year and re-releasing even worse won fighting game of the year over fully fledged completed titles like king of fighters xv and DnF duel which is one of the most stunning looking fighting game out their.
whats even more funny is that certain lvls in the rift wont be available on later rift chapters which locks the boss kill count to 15 once chapter 5 becomes available till july 10 and even if all the lvls were availble, would only get 25 boss kills total, cant even finish the whole agent smith rift challenge which requires 30 to finish to get the other skin variant of agent smith smh
the biggest problem this game is facing is the connection issues theres no reason why i should load up 7 2v2s in a row and disconnect in each one as the match starts up its a joke and it NEEDS to be their #1 on "things to fix" not being able to actually play the game is actually ridiculous, every other problem comes after
the progression system is the exact same as Payday 3 at launch, no xp for just playing missions or play well, you were forced to complete achievements with increasingly demanding tasks and/or weapons and playstiles. Even with that example of dumb progression no one liked, they decided to do the same.
Such a good video man, I knew for certain I had a wayyy bigger chunk of the cast in the beta than I do now and unlocking characters beforehand was way easier I just didn't quite remember if that was true. I am having a decent amount of fun with the full release but if they don't improve upon things soon and add FUN characters at a decently fast rate I think it's just going to die again unfortunately.

hatred and banning of all modding. garbage community management and monetization. inconsistent gameplay and bad balancing issues. roster not being added as quickly and consistently as it should be. Promised story-mode ending up being incredibly underwhelming. and a general industry wide fatigue of Battle Passes. the game has a ton of potential but also some really *really* big problems that need to be adjusted at the fundamental level. fix it and better itself and we'll all come back.
As someone that bought the 100$ founders pack, put hundreds of hours into the beta and has yet to miss a day logging into the current day Multiversus... You have shown me that the game is more predatory than I thought. All of my goodies from beta being transferred over has probably blinded my ability to see what was happening. Very good video! I'll still play Multiversus a ton but it'll def be with a different PoV now lol

even if it is a 'removed feature' i would gladly pay $60 for an 'unlock all current and future characters' button because i only play fighting games irl with friends and having the full roster would be great but seeing as that is not an option i am instead going to just not play the game at all
I REALLY hope the more predatory aspects of the game is all on WB. I want to trust the devs and pray this game at the very least weeds out its worst kinks, but man it’s hard to stay positive with literally everything stacked against Multiversus. On a lighter note, cool seeing another Harley main.
Something I really don't like about full release multiverses is how bad the perk system feels, because at the very least when you picked perks in the last one the only thing that affected your character personally was their personal perk, it felt like there was so many team builds and fighting styles that you could have had in the open beta when they had three different projectile perks you could equip on a character like Gizmo and that be his entire fighting style is just having to deal with projectile base, but now it forces every player to do the exact same or at the very least stuck within this rigid framework where obviously there is customization but nowadays you don't get any video game released without customization so can we really say that they improved upon the perk system? Especially with the individual character leveling, I had played the open beta so like I have all of the extra currency and had enough prestige points to get that rare Garnet emo as soon as I saw that I could because she's one of my mains, but losing Kryptonian skin sucks because I would run that alongside snowball and shock and garnets signature where if you or your ally shocked an enemy it would build a level of garnet's personal buff and it was a really fun way to play Garnet because just that little extra bit of defense team wide made garnet stay in long enough to last about as long as a tank, My team and I as long as we played well or especially when I was playing with my friends and we had a plan, we would always have opponents getting shot and it was a good counter to some of the more mobile ones, and having snowball on there just helped even more considering she's a bruiser character, so when My friend would play Superman, my perks that I had equipped alone made Superman more of a threat than what he had already been in the beta and so the enemies would either focus on him to either deal with him or get away from him and they would just ignore me it was awesome
@@YaBoiJosid something I had a ball with was equipping both off the jump and fall speed perks and the normal one to Tom and Jerry because of how fast they already moved, I was super surprised by the amount of mobility I had given myself and it let me place Jerry and use my tennis ball shot a lot easier so I started relying on that perk a lot more and that became a really fun build to use
Well, you're right. I never played the beta so I downloaded the new version and played it for about a day , unlocked superman and found out he really wasn't for me so I play more to unlock a new character but after a few hours I saw that it was to grindey and gave up all together and never played the game ever since the launch.

I was surprised to hear players weren't getting all the things they had back in the beta, since I personally had everything transfer over (or at least I didn't notice anything I was missing) And then it hit me) I was a Gold Supporter who dumped 100$ on the game, I was probably marked as high priority for account transfers.

this game was supposed to be a tax write off for WB. sucks cause you can feel if there was some more work put into it it couldve been pretty fun. Brawlhalla didn't feel good until scythes were introduced, so it just needed to cook more.
@@WeirdBoyGaming They're a weapon type in brawlhalla can pickup in matches that alter combos from what I remember. Other weapons include short range guns, blades, hammers, spears, etc.
A lot of the stuff that didn't get carried over to the launch game (spectator mode, playing locked characters in labs, cosmetics not carrying over) has to do with the game using a new engine. It isn't because they took those features out, it's just that it didn't get added back in
I understand that and have talked about it in depth in various streams and what not. But as a consumer it feels kind of shady/bad. Like no one asked for them or pushed for them to switch to UE5 if it was truly going to take this much extra legwork and it's mad unfair to us for the game to be launched in this state. Maybe WB forces the UE5 switch and in that case again that's unfair. But I really don't think it's fair for me as a consumer that the game has these many issues devs or not. Like again I don't envy the PFG team it's a sucky situation but gosh darn is it not annoying
Friends and I were excited for the game again it was rough in beta but we had hope, and it seemed like it was gonna be good until on day 3 when one of us couldn’t even join a custom match and the rest of us would be kicked back to lobby after halfway through And the fact that you don’t get level ups or anything from custom fights (even though you don’t get access to anything but your current characters) sucked a lot, none of us wanted to play online we have enough to just play together with multiple small groups but we all uninstalled once we noticed how egregious the monetization is PLUS PLUS we all chose characters during the beta before quite a few were even added yet and you don’t get a reset for your currency or characters and we all only had the exact same characters from years ago with no way of getting any new fighters
Thank you for talking about the fighter currency grind, it's weird how few people are mentioning it, especially since new players only have like 2 characters to start with. The only reason people aren't complaining about Perk Currency is because beta players are sitting on hundreds of thousands of it, which for new players is a big fat 0. The currency grind is awful. P.S. Mojo Jojo's laser has only ever targeted me in my matches and costs me the match without fail it's absolute horseshit.

I lost alot of cosmetics and characters from beta too, and sendt in a ticked only to get the answer from PFG that i had gotten all my skins and characters from beta when i know i lost many skinns, kinda shitty thing to do for someone who bought founders pack and played the beta for 1k hours and wanted them to succeed.
I actually understand no ranked at launch. Balancing issues, Iron giant legit removed from the game, and a total refresh of how the game even feels. And maybe im the odd one, but I actually think the pace actually benefits 2v2, and wish 1v1 was specifically faster. Otherwise the game needs work quick.
I see that angle and I read there thoughts on balance changes before ranked, which is kind of fair... HOWEVER I must emphasize again if the game is in that state of unbalanced and you have access to pro players/ QA testers to find said issues with say iron giants infinite. Then maybe this game should've been delayed until fall like I stated in the video if that makes sense
Im so glad I played a lot during the beta and unlocked everyone I had no idea how insanely hard they made it to get characters that on top of no ranked no co op and no leaderboards I give this game 6 months before its dead
They should just halve the prices of everything and give a 50% refund of at the very least gleamium to everyone, that'd at least make this system less predatory

The fact that they keep on adding so many characters in one franchise is insane, they should be focusing on adding like 2 to 3 characters from different franchises. Ben 10 and Kevin and/or gwen, mordecai and rigby, gumball and darwin, etc. They couldve added some main characters everyone wants. No, instead lets add another dc character 😂
Characters should just be free, like it is a game with a massive skin model, idk why they need to charge for characters too. Character Unlock tickets should be refunded and turned into costume unlock tickets and bam a lot of the monetization issues are fixed, it still be praying on people but it be a lot more manageable. I'd prefer if they just gave up on being an F2P game and released this as a 60 dollar game and released new versions or season passes of DLCs or whatever but ya know.
I'm actually all for free to play fighting games, it's just that no AAA dev has done the model correctly sadly. The only dev to handle F2P fighting games well is the Killer Instinct team back in 2013 (who kicked off the season pass model for fighting games btw) They released the game for free with a rotation of 2 fighters, and the purchase for all 8 during season 1 was 10-20$ at the time. They did subsequent season up until season 3 which costed a total of 30$ for the lowest tier. It's a amazing model most modern FG devs have taken and corrupted imo. I really would not be ok with spending 60$ on a game of this quality with all of it's issues. (i'm barely ok with spending 60 on most modern FGs ngl XD). I love F2P because the buy in is low which means more people get to play fighting games which I love! I just need devs to look at the KI model again and attempt it, while giving players other things to purchase like cosmetics (costumes/music etc) to boost purchases. It would be a perfect middle ground imo
It's honestly a mystery that they didn't keep the game up like Fortnite or DBD and change the engine in the backstage then release it in a huge update (like you said.) DbD literally had a quick support team that would actually communicate when you reported a bug, the engine from what I've seen has been ironed out in the matter of weeks (In quick hotfixes/patches mind you) with a few issues but not as much as MVS. My main grudge is the huge amount of tiny problems they take "years" to fix, I'm surprised we didn't get a huge patch or day one hotfix but we got these little baby patches with some small great changes and huge amounts of store changes for the past few weeks. Like I dont care at all about the $100 gleamium bundle just fix the game
That's what I'm upset about the slow drip feed of "patches" which should have been in launch day 1 engine change or not makes 0 sense. It's straight up malicious. They're rolling things out like this in an effort to build "good will" back with its strange playerbase instead of just releasing a finished product and improving upon it. All they had to do was delay the launch back to 2025 and none of this would've happened
Really great video, you covered the game's history up into the present and hit on everything that needed to be hit on. And yeah, the game has definitely been mismanaged - will be a miracle of this game can recover and keep it's high.
Here's the things I hate about Multiversus Rift Mode: *Needs to have certain characters in order to get diamonds to level up your gem perks. *No retry button when you fail the level *Needs a friend online and no couch co-op *The tank minigame is impossible to beat solo *Specific missions are very scummy as you have to buy instead of grinding :/

It is completely stunning that the various quality of life features in the beta, even though some major things were still missing, are now COMPLETELY GONE from the "Full release" of the game. No local multiplayer in 2's?? Really?? No rest EXP? No nothing. It's really frustrating because otherwise I'm having a lot of fun with Multiversus but the longer the game goes without being feature complete the less interested I'm becoming due to little frustrations piling up over time.
I didn't say half the playerbase but a good chunk of people got the 20-40$ founder pack because it was a easy way to unlock the roster as well as a good way to show support for the game. No one at the time knew it was going to be delisted T_T
I will always say this, as long as the gameplay is good, that's all that matters. After the update, it's pretty decent so I don't get what people are so upset about.
But the gameplay has problems, they removed many elements that people liked from the beta, and they lock gameplay elements behind a paywall. This take is 100% subjective and doesn't add much to the conversation of the grander issues of the game.
What mvs need the MOST right now is the same reward rate for character tokens now as they had in gold in the beta 100 character tokens per win 50 per loss Something like that , GRINDING CHARACTERS SUCK DONG and i hope they know we want them easyer
I had already done the grind in the beta so I had a ridiculous amount of perk currency at launch and almost all of the fighters unlocked so I have no use for fighter currency
I’m loving the game, yes it has its bugs but overall this is a very fun game. Please just enjoy it for what it is, so they won’t shut it down again or stop supporting it!

I’m mad I didn’t spend my gold. It’s like overwatch 2 taking away all my gold I had like 30,000 to. Nick brawl 2 is a disaster you cannot even find a lobby on Xbox. They tried though. This games new style sucks and I think it’s just gonna be the same as the first again WB makes it a huge grind to get anything. Rifts are impossible to do good in sometimes because you do not have access to everyone either u can’t complete all the task each level. Everyone should be free offline.

Probably a hot take but i think the reason every Smash clone either dies in the water or just barely edges the relevance of any fighting game is because it just makes ppl appreciate smash more for as same as it may be, they set the standard so why not just suffer with the grandfather of the genre.
I can't even get that mad at the all of the progression crap because the game still just feels like ass to play. Attacks still lack proper collision, much less a satisfying sense of impact, and way too many moves are still safe on whiff. I see one of two things happening to Multiversus: WB either kills it for a tax write-off or takes it offline permanently in favor of an offline SKU to recoup costs.
Kind of glad I didn't play the beta having fun rn but it is very grindy. It is something tho that you can unlock everything from just playing. Even if it takes forever lol

@@surrealmeme8344 definitely not invalid. yes, you can import assets/projects from ue4 to ue5 but that doesn’t mean it’s going to work off the bat. some of those assets need to be redone or changed altogether so its supported by the new engine, hence why some people feel that game feels different. a bunch of the missing items were found in the game files anyway, so its there, its just being optimized.
Firstly, losing your stuff would immediately be enough to make me say "f this game" too. Thankfully I think I only lost Finn as an unlock but all my skins were safe. Why Finn was lost for so many people is beyond me.
Secondly, I love MVS, I agree with PFG's decision to slow the game down but I also agree immensely with this video.
I think you're the first person to bring up the Rested Bonus, and we need to advocate to bring it back. Modern events like grinding out 75 character levels over 3 days for a paltry 100 gleamium was fucking disgusting. Or the even more recent Top Dog Challenge that gave you a shitty badge for just having the most playtime. I shouldn't have to log in every day to get the most out of the battle pass.
After reading Jason Schreier's exposé on S-Squad: "hurt" the Justice League I'm convinced WB put their grubby fingers all over this game and I get sad on behalf of Tony. I doubt he wanted this mobile game bullshit in this game, and I think PFG has been fighting with their publishing arm to get things like BP XP per match back. Yet, Tony being the figurehead, he's taking all the heat.
As a diehard fan, I love this game's combat way more than Smash, I feel like this game is going to die and I don't have a lot of faith that it'll make it to its 2nd year of development.
Unfair progression, challenges that require specific characters or cosmetics regardless if you own them or not, predatory pricing like the lowest tier bundle only giving 450 gleamium when the cheapest skin is 500, no local queuing, all characters locked for local play, being online only, no silly queue the list literally goes on.
I want to love this game again, I want to defend Tony but we need a massive tidal wave of criticism and decreasing player counts to pull whatever WB executive's head out of their ass to show them Tony's original vision from the beta was more fair and profitable. I was more than happy to buy the founder's pack at beta because I felt like my time was respected, I was earning new fighters at a decent rate and gold was a fair currency that could be spent for perks, characters, icons, or banners and was rewarded at a solid rate.
I want to play more, but after I finish my dailies I log off as a mini sign of protest. Subtracting one more player of their concurrent player count after 20 minutes of play.
Do I think we can save Multiverses? Probably not but I hope we can anyway.
Thank you for a level headed response. My vid is definitely a bit inflammatory, but it's out of love! I personally talked to some devs and esport folk on MVS. This game means a lot to me I also enjoy it more than current ultimate (when it works) but I really do not want it to go out like this! The protest ur doing is pretty solid, log in quick hop off quick and once changes are made we get back to playing!

As a harley main I'm so mad that the balloons float away and that EVERY FKN character seems to have some kinda armor except ones who's kit need it. Then she needs to be able to dodge but there's the same limit for every char when some characters(superman,WW, shaggy, lebron etc) don't need to dodge as much cuz they have ARMORED attacks
Tbh, we all know the characters people want are Mortal Kombat, Cartoon Network, and DC characters after those no one really cares any other characters. The amount of people i know who want Ben 10 and Samurai Jack in the game is crazy. I think they underestimate the massive catalog of CN characters they should be adding, hell ive been pining for Mordecai and Rigby. They need to be careful adding too many Looney Tune and Hanna-Barbara characters because although they're iconic they really aren't that popular amongst the age of the audience that plays the game.

I love these characters and I don't even know what Ben 10 is. Like what even is that. I guess these are kid characters. Maybe they market towards my generation because we're the 'whales' that actually pay to keep f2p games afloat.
It's actually simple and common sense why these live-service games keep failing. These live-service game developers are mostly under publicly traded companies that only value their shareholders. They are hesitant to invest in content because they don't really care about their games. In games like Fortnite and Genshin however, their developers are privately owned and they even self-publish their own games, meaning they can control every aspect of their game. If they decide to keep releasing content, no shareholders will be complaining. Now I know Epic Games has investors like Tencent, but investors don't really have any power to dictate the game.

its absolute trash that multiversus a live service beta that ended up shutting down for a year and re-releasing even worse won fighting game of the year over fully fledged completed titles like king of fighters xv and DnF duel which is one of the most stunning looking fighting game out their.

whats even more funny is that certain lvls in the rift wont be available on later rift chapters which locks the boss kill count to 15 once chapter 5 becomes available till july 10 and even if all the lvls were availble, would only get 25 boss kills total, cant even finish the whole agent smith rift challenge which requires 30 to finish to get the other skin variant of agent smith smh

Such a good video man, I knew for certain I had a wayyy bigger chunk of the cast in the beta than I do now and unlocking characters beforehand was way easier I just didn't quite remember if that was true. I am having a decent amount of fun with the full release but if they don't improve upon things soon and add FUN characters at a decently fast rate I think it's just going to die again unfortunately.

just got a 7gb update on xbox im praying that does something....I honestly want to love this game.
Something I really don't like about full release multiverses is how bad the perk system feels, because at the very least when you picked perks in the last one the only thing that affected your character personally was their personal perk, it felt like there was so many team builds and fighting styles that you could have had in the open beta when they had three different projectile perks you could equip on a character like Gizmo and that be his entire fighting style is just having to deal with projectile base, but now it forces every player to do the exact same or at the very least stuck within this rigid framework where obviously there is customization but nowadays you don't get any video game released without customization so can we really say that they improved upon the perk system? Especially with the individual character leveling, I had played the open beta so like I have all of the extra currency and had enough prestige points to get that rare Garnet emo as soon as I saw that I could because she's one of my mains, but losing Kryptonian skin sucks because I would run that alongside snowball and shock and garnets signature where if you or your ally shocked an enemy it would build a level of garnet's personal buff and it was a really fun way to play Garnet because just that little extra bit of defense team wide made garnet stay in long enough to last about as long as a tank, My team and I as long as we played well or especially when I was playing with my friends and we had a plan, we would always have opponents getting shot and it was a good counter to some of the more mobile ones, and having snowball on there just helped even more considering she's a bruiser character, so when My friend would play Superman, my perks that I had equipped alone made Superman more of a threat than what he had already been in the beta and so the enemies would either focus on him to either deal with him or get away from him and they would just ignore me it was awesome

@@YaBoiJosid something I had a ball with was equipping both off the jump and fall speed perks and the normal one to Tom and Jerry because of how fast they already moved, I was super surprised by the amount of mobility I had given myself and it let me place Jerry and use my tennis ball shot a lot easier so I started relying on that perk a lot more and that became a really fun build to use
As of the recent patch, i got disconnected four times more than i joined matches, i immediately uninstalled the game again.
Just had a session to grab more footage and oml the amount of duo desyncs drove me mad, lead to both easy wins and annoying losses
Well, you're right. I never played the beta so I downloaded the new version and played it for about a day , unlocked superman and found out he really wasn't for me so I play more to unlock a new character but after a few hours I saw that it was to grindey and gave up all together and never played the game ever since the launch.
Thanks for the input from a fresh new player! These were the exact concerns I had when it came to on-boarding new players, I truly sadly don't think the gameplay is strong enough to keep players hooked T_T

I was surprised to hear players weren't getting all the things they had back in the beta, since I personally had everything transfer over (or at least I didn't notice anything I was missing) And then it hit me) I was a Gold Supporter who dumped 100$ on the game, I was probably marked as high priority for account transfers.

this game was supposed to be a tax write off for WB. sucks cause you can feel if there was some more work put into it it couldve been pretty fun. Brawlhalla didn't feel good until scythes were introduced, so it just needed to cook more.

@@WeirdBoyGaming They're a weapon type in brawlhalla can pickup in matches that alter combos from what I remember. Other weapons include short range guns, blades, hammers, spears, etc.
A lot of the stuff that didn't get carried over to the launch game (spectator mode, playing locked characters in labs, cosmetics not carrying over) has to do with the game using a new engine.

I understand that and have talked about it in depth in various streams and what not. But as a consumer it feels kind of shady/bad. Like no one asked for them or pushed for them to switch to UE5 if it was truly going to take this much extra legwork and it's mad unfair to us for the game to be launched in this state. Maybe WB forces the UE5 switch and in that case again that's unfair. But I really don't think it's fair for me as a consumer that the game has these many issues devs or not. Like again I don't envy the PFG team it's a sucky situation but gosh darn is it not annoying
They made the rifts challenges so unplayable I cant even retain more than 10 minutes of my attention on this game
Friends and I were excited for the game again it was rough in beta but we had hope, and it seemed like it was gonna be good until on day 3 when one of us couldn’t even join a custom match and the rest of us would be kicked back to lobby after halfway through
And the fact that you don’t get level ups or anything from custom fights (even though you don’t get access to anything but your current characters) sucked a lot, none of us wanted to play online we have enough to just play together with multiple small groups but we all uninstalled once we noticed how egregious the monetization is
PLUS PLUS we all chose characters during the beta before quite a few were even added yet and you don’t get a reset for your currency or characters and we all only had the exact same characters from years ago with no way of getting any new fighters
Thank you for talking about the fighter currency grind, it's weird how few people are mentioning it, especially since new players only have like 2 characters to start with. The only reason people aren't complaining about Perk Currency is because beta players are sitting on hundreds of thousands of it, which for new players is a big fat 0. The currency grind is awful.
P.S. Mojo Jojo's laser has only ever targeted me in my matches and costs me the match without fail it's absolute horseshit.

Very good video and this needed to be said. I lost alot of cosmetics and characters from beta too, and sendt in a ticked only to get the answer from PFG that i had gotten all my skins and characters from beta when i know i lost many skinns, kinda shitty thing to do for someone who bought founders pack and played the beta for 1k hours and wanted them to succeed.
My fighters still didn't transfer over from the beta, and for that alone, screw this game
I actually understand no ranked at launch. Balancing issues, Iron giant legit removed from the game, and a total refresh of how the game even feels. And maybe im the odd one, but I actually think the pace actually benefits 2v2, and wish 1v1 was specifically faster. Otherwise the game needs work quick.
I see that angle and I read there thoughts on balance changes before ranked, which is kind of fair... HOWEVER I must emphasize again if the game is in that state of unbalanced and you have access to pro players/ QA testers to find said issues with say iron giants infinite. Then maybe this game should've been delayed until fall like I stated in the video if that makes sense

The fact that they keep on adding so many characters in one franchise is insane, they should be focusing on adding like 2 to 3 characters from different franchises. Ben 10 and Kevin and/or gwen, mordecai and rigby, gumball and darwin, etc. They couldve added some main characters everyone wants. No, instead lets add another dc character 😂
Characters should just be free, like it is a game with a massive skin model, idk why they need to charge for characters too. Character Unlock tickets should be refunded and turned into costume unlock tickets and bam a lot of the monetization issues are fixed, it still be praying on people but it be a lot more manageable. I'd prefer if they just gave up on being an F2P game and released this as a 60 dollar game and released new versions or season passes of DLCs or whatever but ya know.
I'm actually all for free to play fighting games, it's just that no AAA dev has done the model correctly sadly. The only dev to handle F2P fighting games well is the Killer Instinct team back in 2013 (who kicked off the season pass model for fighting games btw) They released the game for free with a rotation of 2 fighters, and the purchase for all 8 during season 1 was 10-20$ at the time. They did subsequent season up until season 3 which costed a total of 30$ for the lowest tier. It's a amazing model most modern FG devs have taken and corrupted imo. I really would not be ok with spending 60$ on a game of this quality with all of it's issues. (i'm barely ok with spending 60 on most modern FGs ngl XD). I love F2P because the buy in is low which means more people get to play fighting games which I love! I just need devs to look at the KI model again and attempt it, while giving players other things to purchase like cosmetics (costumes/music etc) to boost purchases. It would be a perfect middle ground imo
It's honestly a mystery that they didn't keep the game up like Fortnite or DBD and change the engine in the backstage then release it in a huge update (like you said.) DbD literally had a quick support team that would actually communicate when you reported a bug, the engine from what I've seen has been ironed out in the matter of weeks (In quick hotfixes/patches mind you) with a few issues but not as much as MVS. My main grudge is the huge amount of tiny problems they take "years" to fix, I'm surprised we didn't get a huge patch or day one hotfix but we got these little baby patches with some small great changes and huge amounts of store changes for the past few weeks. Like I dont care at all about the $100 gleamium bundle just fix the game
That's what I'm upset about the slow drip feed of "patches" which should have been in launch day 1 engine change or not makes 0 sense. It's straight up malicious. They're rolling things out like this in an effort to build "good will" back with its strange playerbase instead of just releasing a finished product and improving upon it. All they had to do was delay the launch back to 2025 and none of this would've happened

Here's the things I hate about Multiversus Rift Mode:
*Needs to have certain characters in order to get diamonds to level up your gem perks.
*No retry button when you fail the level
*Needs a friend online and no couch co-op
*The tank minigame is impossible to beat solo
*Specific missions are very scummy as you have to buy instead of grinding :/

I really did give this game a chance but it truly is just beyond broken.
It is completely stunning that the various quality of life features in the beta, even though some major things were still missing, are now COMPLETELY GONE from the "Full release" of the game. No local multiplayer in 2's?? Really?? No rest EXP? No nothing. It's really frustrating because otherwise I'm having a lot of fun with Multiversus but the longer the game goes without being feature complete the less interested I'm becoming due to little frustrations piling up over time.
They said battlepass characters will be able in the shop after the season is over. (if i remember correctly)

I will always say this, as long as the gameplay is good, that's all that matters. After the update, it's pretty decent so I don't get what people are so upset about.
But the gameplay has problems, they removed many elements that people liked from the beta, and they lock gameplay elements behind a paywall. This take is 100% subjective and doesn't add much to the conversation of the grander issues of the game.
What mvs need the MOST right now is the same reward rate for character tokens now as they had in gold in the beta

I had already done the grind in the beta so I had a ridiculous amount of perk currency at launch and almost all of the fighters unlocked so I have no use for fighter currency
I’m loving the game, yes it has its bugs but overall this is a very fun game. Please just enjoy it for what it is, so they won’t shut it down again or stop supporting it!

I’m mad I didn’t spend my gold. It’s like overwatch 2 taking away all my gold I had like 30,000 to. Nick brawl 2 is a disaster you cannot even find a lobby on Xbox. They tried though. This games new style sucks and I think it’s just gonna be the same as the first again WB makes it a huge grind to get anything. Rifts are impossible to do good in sometimes because you do not have access to everyone either u can’t complete all the task each level. Everyone should be free offline.

Probably a hot take but i think the reason every Smash clone either dies in the water or just barely edges the relevance of any fighting game is because it just makes ppl appreciate smash more for as same as it may be, they set the standard so why not just suffer with the grandfather of the genre.
I can't even get that mad at the all of the progression crap because the game still just feels like ass to play. Attacks still lack proper collision, much less a satisfying sense of impact, and way too many moves are still safe on whiff. I see one of two things happening to Multiversus: WB either kills it for a tax write-off or takes it offline permanently in favor of an offline SKU to recoup costs.
Why did the remove spectator mode from customs? Like who in the hell thought “you know what we have spectator implemented but lets just remove it”.

Kind of glad I didn't play the beta having fun rn but it is very grindy. It is something tho that you can unlock everything from just playing. Even if it takes forever lol

I am super disappointed in this game now. Hell I even made an old multiversus video of the beta of me playing shaggy and that shit was fun as hell. But the input buffer and the random game crashes are a pain in my ass
