I am French and I live in France sorry for my bad English. Your tutorial is fantastic, I will start immediately. Many kind greetings from Brittany France 💐🌞❤️
I must agree with Miss Piggy's comment about your YO.....it's quite different from what we're used to....but your video is simple to follow....thank you.
It depends on the measurement of the heel. My heel is about 5cm so based on my gauge swatch 6 sts is enough and in most cases 5cm is an average so it will suit most sizes. However I would still suggest to make a gauge swatch just in case (I have a video on how to do this called 'How to make a gauge swatch' th-cam.com/video/ULjgjzs2J6gi/w-d-xo.htmlf you are unsure) :)
R44 Inspector thank you so much ❤️! A good tip is to use two needles for the cast or you can try grabbing the yarn lower than you usually would and only then make a ‘pistol’ sign with your fingers for the cast-on (I hope that makes 😂)
I’m a U.K. size 3 & every time I try they are massive. I think I’ve tried every video on here. I am new to knitting so I’m completely lost. Could you help me please? How many to cast on ect.
Have you tried making a gauge swatch? That is the first thing I advise beginner knitters to learn as it is a perfect way to measure how many stitches you need per measurement and will help you figure out how many stitches you need for your size. I’ve made a tutorial on how to make a gauge swatch here th-cam.com/video/ULjgjzs2J6g/w-d-xo.html . Hope that helps 😊
Aww you’re welcome 😊! This pattern is suitable for bulky yarn and would have to be considerably adjusted for sock weight yarn therefore i have to say no 💕
one question. How long did the overall time of knitting this and putting it together just on the sock? And this was a great help and great tutorial/guide to making these socks. And I love the socks there amazing even though I'm not even halfway there..Yet!
Isis Kondratowicz aww thank you so much for your lovely comment 🥰. Depending on your knitting speed these can actually be knitted quite quickly; I think it took me about 2-3 hours per sock (and that was whilst filming) 💗
Mam can u pls let me know whether I can make with ordinary 3ply or 4 ply wool?, which we get in India. then for a 7yr old boy my grandson, how many stitches should i cast on and other things shown in the would be the same. An early reply would be appreciated, as i want to knit for my grandson. The video socks is for which size? Is it for girl or boy? Kindly give the answer pointwise very very early...Neeraja
These are unisex, UK size 6 socks using chunky yarn (category 5-6 based on Standard Yarn System). Because these socks are knitted in bulky yarn I wouldn’t advise using 3-4 ply wool. The only alternative i can suggest is to knit a gauge swatch using the yarn you have, make foot measurments and then calculate based on the above how many stitches you would need plus decreases/increases. You can still use the video as the basis but you would have to make all the calculations yourself. Hope that helps 💕
Hi, where it says “repeat this sequence 4 more times starting with stocking stitch” at 34:24 does this mean do another 3cm and then k2tog and then another 3cm and so on? Or just repeat the k2tog 5 times? Sorry, I’m a bit confused😬
Jazmin Kurylo yes it basically means to decrease every 3cm (so knit 3cm in stocking stitch then decrease, knit another 3cm in stocking stitch, decrease again and so on). Hope that helps 😁
My grandson doesnt stay with me, he stays with his other grandparents, south. Iam staying in Maharashtra, in that case, will size 6 will be ok for him and do everything as shown in video. and needle according to Indian standard will be what no.?..?, if chunky yarn available, here then do i follow yr video and start? Iam not very familiar with knitting only little I know, the basics. Iam a 70 yr old Sr.citizen and the calculation part is little confusing.ia may not be able to do that part. If so eg. is given of this, in can try. Yr early will be appreciated...Neeraja
If you are new to knitting and struggle with calculations then I strongly advise you to learn how to make a gauge swatch (you can do so here th-cam.com/video/ULjgjzs2J6g/w-d-xo.html). It’s important that before you attempt ANY knitting project you make your own swatch because even if your yarn & measurements are the same as mine, you still might end up with a different sized fabric due to your knitting tension. Plus it will help you to learn all the adjustments you need to make for a perfect fit. Hope that helps 💕
You’re really confusing me with how you do your yarn overs, like you’re going to do continental. 😂 seen lots of vids on YO’s everyone does them differently.so I think I know then someone else confuses me ha ha
Haha sorry about that! It’s an old video and I use my ‘english’ knitting method here (I’ve learnt knitting using ‘english’ method but never felt really comfortable with it hence the occasional ‘continental’ dips 😂). I now use only continental in all of my tutorials and try to be consistent with it and all of my YO are ‘continental’ too (in fact as you can see in this video I’ve always struggled to make yarn overs using ‘english’ style 😅). I was actually thinking of deleting this tutorial as it was so old and cringy but many people begged me to keep it as they still find it helpful. So i guess i have to live with it 😆 (at least until i make another tutorial on two needle socks)
@@KnittingPonchik oh no it's brilliant and you must not apologise, I'm just very new to knitting and easy confused 😂😂 I'll get there. I may need to tackle these further down the line but i have saved it.

Hi. Can I substitute Brioche stitch for Fisherman's Rib stitch please?
yes, it shouldn’t be a problem 😊
If you added 3 cm (size 9) do you still keep initially 6 on your needle when making the heal?

I L.O.V.E. how you did that long tail cast on! Mine are always so tight.

Unfortunately no as it is an old video and I didn’t write patterns back then 😅. But nowadays i make a written pattern for all of my new tutorials 😀
