“Luck is when preparation meets opportunity” I coach a 12u baseball team and I’m stealing that
Success = Luck + Skill
I think the normal quote is where hard work meets opportunity. Definitely remember being told that when I played baseball myself haha
This has to be a misquote by him, the original is Success is when preparation meets opportunity.
Not a misquote 🙄. I believe it's attributed to the Roman philosopher Seneca.

I was the guy with the guzzlord at 3:43 … saw who I was playing against and knew I was cooked 😅 still, it was an honor to battle you 🙏
23-2 not even at the lowest elo or beginning of the season. This dude got it at the highest level and near legend. You are an inspiration to us all Reis. Good work 😊👍🏾
This team is cracked. I’ve been cooking with this team.
Haven’t had one negative set after the first where I was learning matchups and such.
Incredibly flexible, has great comeback potential, and the Close Combat has literally won me like 4-5 games because of the surprise factor.
awesome video, congrats on the amazing streak, long story short, gonna try this team out, and to answer your question, my longest win streak is 16 somehow........not sure how or when i managed to win 16 in a row, but mustve been ages ago lol
Ive been running cc and shadow ball on ape lately. Mainly because im literally always out of tms, but its working out well.
One thing I know about you Reis - you never back from a challenge! You talk the talk, but you also walk the walk. Props to you this season.
I appreciate that!!
I think my biggest win streak was on day 1 of season 1, won my first 12 games, right in a row at the literal beginning of GBL's release 😂 obviously not exactly impressive given the circumstances but it felt cool to start off the new feature strong
now i understand why my close combats started to get sheilded recently haha!
3:36 HaHaaaaaa
Watch your vids every night man, keep up the great content. 💪
I appreciate that!
Hey Reis, love the content! How did you get another switch so quickly at 19:20
Thank you! The Annihilape just fainted not a switch
ive been really wanting annialape for my team and to round out a lot of other pokemon for my options also registeel and others, dewgong eventually to but its such a grind when you ahve so little time
I use the same exact team for last season i did pretty well it got me to the leader boards but i had shadow ball instead of close combat
God damn 23-2. You’re the goat reis
I used Dragonair with the same backline and i got mixed results the first day. The counter user up front is a game changer. i dont even have annihilape for GL so i am using shadow machamp and i went 5-0 first set.
I was wondering why I've seen this comp everywhere at the moment. Not complaining though! I run Wiggly lead, with safe Lanturn, and closer S.Feral. So I core break any Annihi leads I've been seeing just by keeping alignment lol
it says my longest win streak is 17 but i dont remember that at all lmao
Some say Reis cannot defeat a charjabug
He did tho
Congrats. Mega. What a run. Very nice gameplay :) Im playing Ultra L. and from my 25 fights, i ran into (near the half!?!) negativ leads 😂 One day you win 50 points. And the next days you Lose 100 ;) my last days: 2340 down to 2320 down to 2290 and today: 2250. Waste if time.
What does throwing on alignment actually means? It's a term that I always thought I understand but I'm not sure if people change contexts, is it to throw on proper fast move timing or is it to throw as soon as you get the move? I know both can happen together so why it's confusing to deduce.
It's to throw when your move is perfectly in sync with your opponent so opponent sneaks an entire move. For example, if you are 2 turn vs opponent 3 turn and you throw after 3 fast moves, then you throw on alignment
Chris smoove reference lol I love it
My longest winstreak was 43…. But it was after top left from R1-6, win 1 fight too left 4 from R6-11.
And it was mid season cause I had no time to play at start.
Longest Winstreak in normal circumstances (for me 2500-2800 mid season) was 17 in the UL.
I just started pvp a week ago. I have almost everything from gen 1 mainly region stuff and legendary birds im missing. What would be a good team with all gen 1 to start with. Until I start catching up.
Impressive on all fronts
this team foreal foreal. just went crazy the whole day with it.
beast
How do you fight burnout?
What’s better close combat or shadow bolt
10:18 Heyyyyy Annihilape is cute 😠 All jokes aside that's an insane run, i definitely wouldn't have expected the CC's!
Grow up
I have all these Pokemon but I don't have no legacy charge tm😢
Close combat instead of shadow ball for annihilape? Rare!
Which Pokémon to replace dewgong if I didn’t have it
This video is sheer proof as to how this game is more about luck than about skill. Of course reis is an incredibly skilled battler no doubt, but can we say that anyone can go 23-2 with all bad leads? Perhaps no.
I tried this team today. All I got was talonflame, mantine, whiscash, wiggly, and gligar in the lead. Which are all bad leads. Occasional good leads were there, but very few out of all 5 sets.
So, in a nutshell I'm convinced that this game is more about luck than skill. I'm surprised reis did not buy a lottery ticket today, I sure would have.
I think your argument is flawed. I guess no one goes on a 23-2 win streak with all bad leads. Hence, favourable leads give you an advantage to win a game, not that the game is about luck.
Ps. Yes, I’m as much fun at parties as you are
@@twandejong8098 lol. You get so many favorable leads by luck. I don't think there is any possible skill involved in that. Hence my point.
This is epic
The man Jason in the 5 spot!!
These IV's don't add up to the CP, is there an error somewhere?
Great video and I tried this team out for my last 2 sets of the day, getting my 4-1 and 4-1 respectively, so definitely caught people out at my ELO. I even went both shields down against a Mandibuzz lead before banking a load of energy andswitching in the Skarmory, and still got the win.
Overall, my season has been a rollercoaster. I was on the verge of Veteran after the Spring cup, but tanked to below Ace again when Great League returned, so trying to climb back again. Around 2230 after today's sets.
I'm new to pvp what does DRE mean?
Love when content creator puts out new team :) Counter it and free 150 elo, thanks lad
Thanks, just gone 10-0 with this team.
What could you use in place of skarmory that's not regi?
Not really a good sub for skarm outside of regi or empoleon maybe
And that’s the difference at the end of the day. Based on what he’s seen and the plays the opponents made, someone like me would have had a 16-9 day. Someone like Reis makes it a 23 win day…
the gogoat team was super weak to fire, like a Talonflame or Skelidirge. But fair enough haven't been that common this rotation.
I might try and steal this team haha
Longest was three 5-0. Overall that day was 20-5. My best ever in GBL
Tried it in lower elo, Talonflame/Bastiodon teams met me everywhere, no chance, lol.
I got a 14 streak 2 days ago to go from just off leaderboards to #31 and was feeling great about it until you mogged me 🙄
Rizz to the occasion
Longest streak was 18 wins and I’ll never forget it. Ultra league premier hit leaderboards it was so satisfying I beat some very good players that season. This season I only faced Homeslice, and Doonebug. I lost to Homeslice he was using some random team he didn’t even showcase. Doonebug though was awesome I lost lead but came back to win. Haven’t seen anyone else worth mentioning but definitely played some amazing players so far this season. Sometimes it’s luck but sometimes you can make your own luck.
Probably gonna give this team a try. 🤔
I did, and it did terribly at my elo, lost almost all leads.
In my experience, most every time I've hit legend it's been getting lucky catching streaks of favourable comps rather than outskilling opponents the whole way, so I appreciate you calling out how much of this climb could be down to favourable leads.
I got 27 win streak, perfect full day then won 2 the next day then lost
damn how you get a good lead every match
Lets go Reis
Lets go Douglas
2:03 victrebell going wild 😂😂😂
Something’s not right with your skarmory iv‘s. 4/13/15 would come down to 1482 and rank 400+.
Can you pls check that? Would be nice to know the exact iv 🤙
EDIT: also the IV‘s on Annihlape can’t be right cause he would come down to 1464 🤨 is that on purpose?
You're a detective 🕵️ good work
Reis is protecting his real ivs so he can these pokes at competitive events and not get predicted/countered too hard if people know his break/bulk points or his cmp number
This team does not work in the 2400s right now Wiggly basti teams everywhere
The fact you know Chris smoove is enough for a subscribe lol
😊
Close combat is my ingame name i support it
That's very cool 😎
2:50 should have listened to your rule of baiting
yes
I used this Team the last 2 days and climbed 180 points
Let's go 😤
The sauce boss
I'd give one liver to see tho vs reiss but for real.
Congrats Reis! You deserve it bro
I've never had a positive lead in my life
Dang
Mine Is 17
What does Dre stand for?
Damage registration error
How does one get rid of skele?
Night slash anni
@@arthurconway4245 uh…….ape loses all even shields and if you takes it to the 2s the game is just over
22:40
W long video
My longest Win streak is 23 and it was recently in the GL Spring Cup running triple legacy seaking, abomasnow and poliwrath with Dynamic Punch
0 fairy leads or shadow feraligatr ss xd people at 2.3k plays better than those at 2.7k
I tried this team and was hard countered. End up going 4-26. I should have known all this fake gimmicky teams.
Boring...
Yer cool
Game is pretty boring but annihilape is sick , Reis is prolly the coolest personality in go and he a top player boi living the dream simple peaceful life
#6 in the world! Congrats man!
thank you
