I find it easier to trench manually with the special heavy sharp cutting shovels combined with the 4 inch trenchers. Then you don't have to rent the large trencher that requires a trailer or ramps, and the added costs.

I'd have to guess, now that the trench is closed. I would guess it was about 3" wide. The plumber ended up making the trench wider, which added to the cost.

Man i dug my trenches by hand and only now did i realize that i should have rented a trencher. 120 ft of trenching a sore tennis elbow and lowe back
