I just flew in AA premium economy a week ago returning from Madrid to JFK. The hard product is fine. We had bulkhead seats in the PE cabin, so there was plenty of legroom. The food was fine. Nothing that I would order in a restaurant but it was more than edible. The entertainment system was fine and getting priority service (check in, going through security and having our bags off the plane in the first batch) is never something I'll be mad about. Where AA falls down is on the in flight service. Unlike other PE cabins that I've flown in the past few years (EVA, British Airways & Austrian) where PE had their own dedicated cabin crew, on AA we shared with economy which really meant very inattentive service. There was no welcome beverage of any kind, and the only drink service provided was during the meal service. Obviously we could always go to the galley if we wanted something, but that does take away from the premium feel of the cabin. I'll still argue that just for the comfort of the seat alone that PE is worth the money but AA could and should do a lot better.
Hey! Seems like you had a similar experience to myself - thanks for sharing your thoughts. A really interesting point about sharing cabin crew with economy, something I never thought about! I couldn't agree more about it being worth it for the money just for comfort alone!
3:18 I think most seats are now reclining with foot rests, but recline in such a way that the back doesn’t actually tilt. Other videos show this.
Thanks for the update!
2:31 Access your Sakura lounge in HND is included for premium economy.
Really! That's cool - I did not have access to any lounged with my premium economy ticket!
@ it is now. But only if you buy premium not if you upgrade to premium from economy.
@ thanks for the update!
