I'll take tips from Mike all day! The only Bullshad bait I've been able to catch fish on so far is the 4x4. I've been throwing my bullgill and bullshad everyday though!
Oh yeah Mike is the man!! It took a while but you will get bit, just keep casting. If took a while to catch a big fish on the bullgill but the wait was worth it.
I would go with 20 or 25 pound big Game line or pline cxx. As far as the rod it depends on the price point, what else you want to throw. The Dobyns Fury, Irod genesis Large swimbait, Okuma Glide select (7111Ha Heavy) are some good choices.

Yeah, it's the Bullshad 4x4. It's the crankdown version of his bullshad.
You beat me to it, that's the 4x4 version it has a bigger lip to bounce off stuff.
