Just before my now-husband and I got married I had a dream that I was dating a celebrity.
I woke up feeling so guilty about it and told him about it while apologizing.
He just laughed, said “why are you apologizing about a dream?”, gave me a kiss and cuddled up with me until it was time to get up.
He teased me about it a little, but when he saw that it really did upset me (no matter how irrational that was) he stopped and just reassured me that he knew that you don’t have control over your dreams and even if you did, who cares.
_That’s_ how OP’s fiancé should have reacted. He should have just laughed about it with her, then used it as an excuse to snuggle up in bed for a while. Or something like that.
He let his true colors show, and they are ugly and putrid. I’m so glad OP left. Negging behavior like that and trying to tear her down could easily escalate to more serious abusive behavior if she’d stayed.

Small town politics are like that. My dad filed for a building permit variance because the garage would be too close to the property line. In the middle of the municipal meeting the brother of the mayor approached my dad with an offer to fix things for a price. Yes, bribing in the middle of borough council meeting. My dad rose up exclaiming his disgust over the bribery attempt and walked out of the meeting. Our contractor hearing what was going on decided to just pore the cement for the foundation. That garage is still in the same position 70 years later.

I have periodically mentioned to a friend, coworker, etc. that they might benefit from therapy. I have also learned to warn people:
    >therapists don't 'fix us'.
-they help us figure out ways to fix ourselves
    >It is a lot of work
    -often painful, scary, difficult work
    >it is likely that going to therapy will mean losing 'friends'
-often these are not real friends but those who benefit from our dysfunction by taking advantage of us
-some are/were real friends but whose own dysfunction no longer fits with our growing health
    >there is often a time of the Terrifying Void
    -we have lost 'friends'
-we no longer feel bad all the time, but now often feel nothing/empty
-often, we don't know what we need or want or how to fill that void
But, I let people know that I will still be their friends, and cheer on their progress; that they are worth the effort to heal; that usually losing old habits and toxic people means making room for a variety of emotions, happy new experiences, and people who will actively support us. It takes time and work, and it is difficult and scary, but it is ultimately worth the effort.
If you are thinking about taking this step then know that you are worth the effort.

When she finally calmed down she said she had a dream I was sleeping with a mutual friend. I told her to simply leave she kept pleading that it was 2am I repeatedly said I don't care. I told her that she is lucky my brother wasn't there because she would be leaving with bracelets. She gave me a fat lip, a bruise under my eye and a few bruises from body shots. She eventually left, the next morning the mutual friend calls me cussing me out asking me how dare I cheat on her friend. I stopped her mid sentence and asked "did she tell you who it was with? Because she had a dream that you and I were sleeping together. Is there something you want tell me because I don't remember this." She replied with she did it again. "Again, wtf you mean again." And hung up. After that I stopped hanging out with the mutual friends.

About the second story: My first boyfriend would always joke about how I was ugly etc and even though we generally teased each other this kept going on for so long that it started to hurt. He was definitely very good-looking and even though at the time I lacked the relationship experience and confidence, I was doing quite well myself. Apart from that though I was always putting in extra effort on everything from my looks to my style. One time he made that joke again and I stopped and asked "do you really think I'm that ugly?" and he looked shocked and said "no, I'm just trying to mess with your head a bit, if you really were ugly I wouldn't be saying anything". He's been my ex for years now but I have heard men trying to "mess with women's heads" or "take them down a notch" so often since then. Story 2: Hi, ive been married for 3 years and I can't even imagine being in a relationship like that story. At least once every couple of days my husband will say something about me being the best or being the most beautiful person in the world. I give that back to him as much as I can. Marriage is not about settling, it's about building each other up. I don't want him to doubt that he's the best person on this planet for me. That's how it should work. If OP's ex was less insecure, he would realize that and it wouldn't have ruined his relationship. No matter how many light-hearted jokes get thrown in your relationship, you never want to make your partner think that they are unattractive in any way. Even at 8 months pregnant, my husband is still calling me beautiful and sexy and that's only built me up throughout being pregnant. If any of you in the comments are getting married soon, or are in a committed relationship of some kind, take that to heart. There is a reason why these relationships tend to get stagnant over time. You have to keep working on the relationship and doing everything you can to make your partner feel worthy.

Not only that, it is essentially illegal to frivolously sue someone multiple times. All you're doing is wasting the court's time, and if the case keeps getting dropped, then that just goes to show that there's nothing there. I'm not familiar enough to know everything that's being broken here, but safe to say that this definitely goes into the realm of things you could easily be sued for, and since he openly said everything, he's guaranteeing that he will lose, since he made it clear that this is specifically what he is trying to do. I'm sure that he will also be open to getting removed from the board for using his position to abuse power. I'm hoping this would result in not only a Nice. I'm out paid back to OP, plus him being stripped of his position, and him having to sell off his businesses. The last one would be the hardest part, but honestly with how he's been acting, there's a chance that OP could cross litigation against the board, for the actions of one of its members.

Fairly certain that the first story is a lie. He said he was writing the title of his post as his uncle called him, then after the call in his post he explains what happened over the course of the next 2 months. The assumption here being that he hung up and continued making the post he had started. Either he just stopped writing the title and didn't get back around to actually making the post for another 2 months after that phone call or he's full of it. Or he can see the future and just wrote what was going to happen since he already knew.
The way it's worded though it sounds like he had sat down to write then got a call from his uncle then continued writing the post. Maybe he really can see the future and just knew what the next few months would look like. It's also interesting how these court proceedings went on for about a month each but the only details we have is; the defendant that is listed, that his uncle represented him, and that the cases were dismissed, the 2nd case being the same exact suit with the same assertion, yet it somehow took a week longer. There was precedent at that point to end it quickly or not accept the case at all and turn the man away. Why is there no details of these proceedings? You'd think something interesting was said or happened, not even a single comment about something that was claimed in an entire month long proceeding.
This isn't even mentioning the supposed other multitude of times he was sued, by the same guy with the same judge presiding. No judge would let the same case go to court this many times. There is too much precedent to prove the man suing doesn't have a case. Frankly it's just a little too obvious of the little guy small business owner overcoming the power of this seasoned business owner with connections. The situation with his previous job is also just nonsensical in how he quit and became his own boss.
Side note: The assertion that his business is a success is contradicted by the fact its run by 2 employees who have yo overwork themselves. A $4000 profit is a good paycheck but that money needs to be used for the business as well as loans and bills and expenses, seeing as this is their only source of income $4000 isn't a lot of money for two people with that much debt, in fact its less than two people would make on minimum wage in my state.
We also hear nothing about his girlfriend through all of this, she's mentioned once so he can pretend someone called her a slur and so that he can mention she is an Asian American and that they both work a ton of hours. This means she either also quit a job or didn't have one to begin with. It's also funny that he says he kicks people out if they're rude, yet when someone calls his gf a slur he just charges them more? Shes also suddenly his fisnce at the end with a wedding quickly approaching which is interesting, technically since it had been months this is feasible, still though, to propose and plan a wedding and then have it be drawing near seems like a stretch.
"Idk who told him we were suing him" yall did, at the last court case.
Finally he ends with "it wasn't as big of a win as we wanted" yet he got to keep his business, get a settlement so much bigger than the offers to buy the business (which were only a fraction of the loan amount) and live happily ever after. There wasn't a better way to win.

    • @MidnyghtSabre
      @MidnyghtSabre 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

I'm confused on several counts here. I made a legitimate observation about the existence of court record as a means of evidentiary support in a case against a vexatious litigant, a point of curiosity specifically regarding a bully using their position, wealth, and personal opinion of moral superiority against a small business owner. In what way does that present me as someone who wouldn't have the back of victims in cases similar to this? Even asking about the existence of such records carries the implication of speaking out against this bully behavior, so I'm at a loss again about how this is not me having someone's back against intimidating or strong-arming behavior.
And how did my comment have anything to do with the initial argument you presented about psychopaths and individuals with disabilities? It's not just psychopaths targeting people with disabilities - even people who are otherwise well-meaning in their daily lives can present an argument that is perceived as ableist or discriminatory. That also doesn't address the additional fact that it's not just disabled people who are targeted - anyone who is part of a demographic that isn't culturally or sociologically seen as normative can be victimized by bullying and the concept of being 'less than'.
On a final note, I should know a rather telling amount about ableist commentary and bullying of disabled people, given that I myself am disabled.

Not only did this lady not have car insurance but she had no license, no seatbelt on, and there was no up to date registration. The sheriff and my car insurance found me not at fault and would not pay her squat. In the state of California, if you dont have car insurance you are not entitled to any compensation from either insurance company. She's trying to get $50,000. Now she's trying to sue me personally and we are still in the process of having it thrown out. She doesn't know I have a video of her running the light and she's lying to her lawyer about what happened.

I loved my ex for years, but when we broke up after 3 days he had decided to slash my car tires. Well just like op the second I saw it all those feelings evaporated. It's so funny how bad ex's blame the therapy.

That last OP needs to go to a convention where Adam Driver is a guest and get a picture taken with him and send it to her ex

Doesn't everyone have dreams of being with Adam Driver? Frankly, if someone didn't have dreams of being with Adam Driver I'd see that as a red flag.

Years ago, my oldest sister had a dream in which her long-time boyfriend deflowered a female relative. When she woke from the dream, she was very angry with her boyfriend. The relationship ended a few years later (unrelated to the dream). Some time later, sister got a new boyfriend. Again dreamed that he deflowered that same relative! She started to get mad at him, but before saying anything to him, she realized how irrational she was being.

Story 2: If insecurity was a smell, my nose would have disintegrated from this post. Like, it was just one dream, *ONE DREAM,* and this was how he reacted, even turned into a completely destructive manchild when OP broke up with him.
As for the unsupportive friends and mom, shame on them

The most surprising and confusing thing about the last story is people thinking Adam Driver is attractive. 😅😆

Shout out to the uncle in the liquor store story. I'd sue just to make sure my uncle gets paid

I see a lot of old banks become alcohol or cigar sales places. It's kind of interesting to think about XD imagine a dispensary bank that you just drive up and pull your order from the tube

My old bank is becoming a Dunkin’ Donut. Another local one is now Popeye’s and a third is Bojangles.

Monopoly: No, they likely can't (or won't) call the judge. All they need is the court transcript. The official court record is evidence enough of his words.

Liquor story: I've heard this before but not the update. OP, I hope a part of the settlement was that this guy, his business and so on would no longer sue you. All things considered though, I consider making some anonymous phone calls from a burn phone to the state's liquor commission about his shady dealings on his local liquor board, from a far different area than where you live.
Dream story: You're well rid of this man and those so-called friends. It would only have gotten worse had you continued with him.

Monopoly story - OP got lucky.
I have proof that a lawyer committed inheritance theft and fraud, I turned them into the bar association, but they told me that they will call it “reasonable doubt”….
    Lawyers are the slimiest.

For the first story I'm pretty sure if op wins the harassment he can file for a motion I can't remember the name of that basically only let's a case be filed against op without a judge looking over the guys evidence first

Second story: The second I heard the demeaning with the dream I knew that douche was abusive and when he said "the teraphy made you cocky and more demanding and took the chance to take you back to earth" is more like "since you started teraphy *my control over you was getting weak* amd I took the chance to *chain you back and force you on your hands and knees again beneeth me where you belong*"

Story 2: I never get stuff like that. The implication there is either that the GUY can’t do any better, or else he would have, or that he’s not that much of a catch to begin with, since he had to “settle for the ugly girl.”

    • @twistysunshine

I think it's incel talk. They think they "don't have to work as hard" to keep an "ugly girl". All very dehumanizing, but they prefer to frame it that way
