Survivors on the BNSF -Cascade Green Lives!-

- Cascade Green is still alive, and around on the BNSF Railway!! While significantly harder to see on trains, let along leading, one can still find them...if you know where to look!
We'll start off in NE Mpls and watch a Willmar - Northtown freight, role into town. After seeing it pull past, the train is caught again over at Interstate. The power is cut off, and slowly heads to the diesel shops. Following this, we step back to 2021, and see the same locomotives working the East Local. We can even see how BNSF 1940 has been touched up on its nose. After this, we visit the Rapids Turn with another matching set of BN Green 40s before seeing another surprise...another mainline train with PURE Burlington Northern power. The video ends with a short chase of the NTWWLM, departing, in golden, evening sun. The parting shot is of the train roaring over the Mississippi River in rapidly fading light.

Hey the LASHUP IN the start looked like Halloween colors
It was a neat mix of power, and had the right locomotive leading!
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed watching it! Thanks for watching.
Great vid. I Like the rapids clips !
Oh that singing SD40-2 harmony... still my favorite road locomotives ...Cheers great share.
The sounds of 40s singing, and working hard, never gets old. Thanks for the kind words, and for watching!
Love this video, maybe one day you can catch some BN green switching Northtown yard. That would be a great video........
Maybe one day, and I could even pull out some older video I have of that. Good idea for a future project.
Does BNSF 1940 still active with BNSF?
Very much so! It's one of the main locomotives in this video.
Great footage! 👍
An excellent touch in each video, I leave my like friend, continue like this
Glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for the kind words. Power like this is always a treat to see!
Wow, at 2:32 there's some not to bad action from the Prime 920, gets out more than just squeals there
Yeah....that Prime 920 is something else! Its been like that for years now. Thanks for watching!
Antoher excellent video Douglas! ;) Love cascade green scheme.
Thank you for the kind words! It was a nice looking lead unit.
Were those two Norfolk southern @ 1:36 rented power or just passing through?
That power likely came up and in on the NSINTW, or a GALGFD. We see a lot of NS power on BNSF trains, and its usually run through. Thanks for watching!
In the same shot as the SD75I was an equally rare GP60M. Both came from ATSF. It's still cool to see all that older power mix up the normal run of the mill GEVOs.
Another great video, FYI the BNSF #294 is an sd75i
Thanks for the info, and good catch. I get the 70I and 75I conflated from time to time. Thank you for watching!
...now my reminisces return to the days back when I was shooting film...ah,yes...those were the days!! Do you have any footage of MILWAUKEE 261before 2009? Back then, I was fortunate to ride a number of excursions behind her.
Nice sd40-2s look the best in green awesome
I have a ho model of one in the BN
White face paint love it
BN green looks so good on an SD40-2. What unit do you have in white face paint?
@@SD457500 just a athearn blue box
Sd40-2 nothing special but it runs good
And NS 9876 for good measure. 👍
Yep! Those NS units make their way up on a semi regular basis. Nice to see something different then BNSF orange.
I remember when BNSF 1940 used to run on the Staples sub. I’m hoping to catch a Willmar local this summer. Great video on the nice Cascades!
Same; better times with more excitement trackside. Good luck getting them this summer, and thank you for the kind words about the video.
Fantastic coverage of rare subject!
Love that Burlington northern green... Burlington northern, soo, and cnw will always be near and dear
You have good taste in railroads! Its too bad those are all fallen flags now though. :/
Pickles, nice!
It's wonderful to see these still going strong!
Sure is, and they still have small pockets of them running here and there. Just gotta know where to look! :D
It's always nice to see Cascade green! -Jenny
It never gets old! Lets hope they hang around a while longer yet. Thanks for watching!
@@SD457500 Yes for sure and your very welcome.
