Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"!
Nice Red-tailed Hawk showing off his red tail.
Wasn't he a beauty!
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains, especially the Heritage Units, an adorable bird in Hesperia, California, and so much more, I like them, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much.
Kinda neat to see that Grain Inspection car. I've never seen one in decades as a fan!
As always great train action here on Grab Bag around the US and parts of Canada
this is my favorite channel for trains Thanks as always Grab Bag.🇺🇲🤠🇨🇦
Always love seeing the engines honoring 1st responders, veterans and LEOs--thank you for another great one!
2:54 I salute all loving fathers out there. I am a retired teacher and nothing can replace good parents.
Another retired teacher here!!
It is very cool to watch the cars snaking along the tracks and around the curve at Deschler.
hello Virtual Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Virtual Railfan & Friends Randy
That Darwin at Springfield was what they call a Massachusetts Mental.
I think that was the scariest one I've ever seen. For pity's sake *don't* turn around!!!
I love them dome cars
6:30 a CSX boxcar converted into a MoW tool car. Nice catch.
Why did they go to a roll up door if the can walk through too?
@@KimiWallrus I'm not sure.
That rail train had me thinkin, wow that's a high speed connection til I saw that car brake to a stop. Then I thought, Ok, now I get it.
Rewind the Fairport, NY camera 📷.
You caught the CSX Chessie heritage unit at Springfield, Massachusetts last night, but it went west around 2:00 pm today past me at Oneida, NY.
Hauling Massachusetts garbage 😮🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭.
Good video 📸📸📸👍🏻📸
Used to be, back in the dark ages, the only defacement on railcars were the small, discreet, "Herby", "Bozo Texino", "The Rambler, Port of Beaumont Tx.", etc. I miss that.
Nice Catch.
Love the grab bags
Packed full of Heritage Units and cool 😎 power and consist, like seeing a green signal dropping!🛤🚂
09:06 Really Fried Potatos on a loco. Nice! (22th time in view and still not know what RFP really stands for)
Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad.
Love these, makes my day
Great video like them all
Someone must be having a barbeque. Lookit all them sausage links!
Nice picture 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Christmas packages 😉
I'm surprised the FRA car that was on the Cardinal at Covington on the 21st didn't get in
*Nice*
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💙🤗
Somebody should've played some accordion music when that MOW train switched tracks at Deschler.
What does the letters on csx engine stand for. R..e..&...p? Thanks..
I think it's Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac (RF&P)
That Darwin in Springfield might be about as Darwinian as it gets. You cross in front of a train, make it to the other side, then go BACK???🤦♂
@8:59 .8-9-10.Sold! Retired but still grinding.
What is the yellow Equipment at 5:30
Ex-Citirail CN locomotive
Those are chassis with prime movers and radiators for CAT mining loaders, manufactured in Illinois.
What is up with 10:58? Scarface special?
It seems to me that turning those long rails left and right while in transit would weaken the strength of the rails. I am aware the rails are not bent that way very often, but if you bend metal back and forth like that, eventually the metal becomes weak and will give due to stress and break. Could someone please explain what keeps the rails from breaking down and breaking from transit?
Darwin was already across and went back in front of the Amtrak. duh!
0:08 a nice 7-unit lash-up with BN green and CP units
0:25 USDA Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (FGWX) car
0:34 CSX 1776 trailing
0:55 two BNSF inspection trains pass La Plata within 90 minutes
1:15 person runs in front of oncoming Amtrak in Springfield
1:41 CSX 911 leading
1:53 CSX welded trail train
3:17 NS 4000 leading
3:53 this third unit was built for BNSF, sold to KCS, then bought by Norfolk Southern!
4:00 container broken into
4:16 tarapulined railcar bodies. Anybody have more info on them?
5:29 BC rail blue and ex-Citirail on a CN train
5:37 Santa Fe heritage hopper. The brown color of BNSF covered hoppers originated on the Santa Fe. Although some ATSF gray covered hoppers existed, there was probably never one with the circle logo like this.
6:31 CSX MOW train
6:44 NS 4001 moving without any other locos or cars
7:10 CSX 1836 leading (trailing at 9:08)
7:42 NS 4002 trailing
7:48 ex-CEFX blue AC44CW in the older blue livery
7:57 ex-UP dome car 7000. It was used on the Auto Train between 1971 and 1981, acquired by American Orient Express in 1999 although never restored, as sat in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Hopefully it joins the UP OCS/excursion fleet like dome car 7001 "Columbine"
9:53 CSX 1973 trailing
11:08 Amtrak 145 on the Lake Shore Limited
11:24 CSX 3194
12:05 two SD70Ms and an SP gray GP60
13:02 Western Pacific boxcar
13:20 SP gray AC44CW leading, along with other trains at Big 10 Curve
I refuse to be impressed until BNSF does a heritage grain hopper lettered for the "Orient".
