When I moved into my van last year I had wayyyyy too much stuff I tried to stuff into it. Over the next few weeks I was able to thin it down to only the things I actually needed to survive.
Any of us who've lived in a vehicle understand. You'll downsize and redo many times. Try not to take on new projects and just focus on making car comfortable right now. Get fans!!! Heat will be your biggest problem. I don't know what state you're in, but its hot all over. Only remedy to extreme heat in car is going higher in elevation and even a lot of those are hot now (August 20, 2023). I'm binge watching since just found your channel early this morn. It just takes living to make things to your liking.
I remember when I first packed my trail blazer, it was so packed just like your vehicle, I slept sitting up which wasn't good for my legs, they swelled up so, I can't sit up and sleep like that so now my vehicle has to be repaired so I will have it more organized.
I have a lot of stuff, and I had the same problem as you. My van was so packed, I had to sleep like you so, after endlessly looking for a trailer, I finally found a couple of ideas how everything can be organized. I know how you feel though, I hope everything works out for you.
I would be cheaper to get a 10×15 than have the 2 separate units. 10x5 here in washington is around $85, 10×10 is $125, but a 10×15 is $135. Financially it may be better for a larger unit, then take time to go through it. Yes a big hassle to move all of it again.
Yep that is what I am in the process of doing (but consolidating down to one 5x10). The fees here are so expensive -- a 5x5 is $85, then a 10x10 is around $200, and 10x15 is $250.
@@elizabethoffgrid I have a 10×15 and not 1/2 full but I too need to go through and downsize, but unable at the moment. I need to replace totes, 15 yo totes are breaking so it's time and boxes give out when stacked. I bought an inflatable tub and sauna off amazon years ago not sure if I will keep them. This is the part that's daunting, going through stuff and giving it to goodwill or ?
@@elizabethoffgrid I buy the cheapest LG totes from Walmart, not all at once but 1-5 at a time depending on my budget. I thought to buy boxes from home depot but boxes collapse faster than totes. I'm going to start buying totes again because what I have are 10+ yo and breaking down.
Just wanted to mention that I love going to the library

So true, I have to keep a watch on my ankles and feet so they are up enough and don’t get swollen, especially in this heat

oh yes in my 10x10 there are many partially collapsed (old) boxes, it is a mess which makes it even more difficult to go through
