Well, I`ll bring you some reality: you didn`t know him, he was a miserable sob and the good ol` days wasn`t that great. I`m 54 and 22 in 92. I remember the doom and gloom era from 91 to 94. We were glorifying depression. The irony generation (X) came out of that. And then came the 2000s and music became sh!t because the Millennials were snowflakes LOL
@@HaraldSletterod Then Mr Overrated made his best and most selfish move . Blew his head off . Not a legend at all he was a broken man . He is a tragic tale .
This is the first time I've understood how controlled Kurt's vocal technique was. I always believed he was straining/shouting and giving it everything. He makes it look like that in so many performances. But here, before the "proper" cameras roll, you can see the same signature sound, but it's effortless e.g 2:42. His whole apathetic anti-musician shtick was genius, because beneath it was a real depth of skill.
man i was just thinking THE SAME THING!!!!!!! nice to see kurt doing that effortlessly, he’s hitting those notes more smoothly than normal, i guess maybe the type of drive he did was bad, but anyway
Kurt looks at the black Stratocaster he just strapped on thinks, “I’m so gonna smash the hell out of you tonight. They think you’re my second song guitar, but you’re my smashy guitar.”
It was 30 years ago this month that we lost Kurt. A beautiful tribute to have this released in April 2024. Thank you from a huge Kurt and Nirvana fan in Seattle.❤
Reminds me of Cristina Aguilera or Whitney Houston’ or Mariah the Carey! Such Tonality, range, power, control. A true vocal genius and velvet voice of the decade. Allegedly
Thanks for allowing the rest of us to see this! Kindof ridiculous how the gatekeepers of livenirvana kept this hidden, only viewable to those in their exclusive little elite sub group and not properly distributed to the regular ln members.
Wanna take the feeling out of a musician playing the song live??, have him play it 10,000 times... Can't you just see the excitement dripping from his face!! 🫠😬
During the most successful times of these fellas lives was my worst years growing up. I lost my dad in a car crash in 91 and 92 we moved to a new school district where I was bullied and picked on constantly, it was my knowledge of drawing that saved me then. Though I do not miss these years growing up, I do miss the music scene. Especially when these guys took off cause they helped bring in a whole new genre of music.
I think it wasn't so much the new genre, but just Kurt's charisma that made everything explosive and fresh. We wanted to identify with this scream. While Kurt had a tendency to mix genres, it's a shame that early 1992 was the beginning of his end. Because maybe it would really be something new.
@@sadhu7191 that's something u shouldn't have to put up with at all!! Especially at a work environment. Did u report these people bullying u to your boss yet?
hope you are in better place now? Don't know many people who haven't experienced bullying... but losing our dad at what I assume was a young age... tough
I never thought to look for this until just now, when it has been on the internet for just 18 hours; thanks, brain. And thanks Nirvana, for rocking so much and so well. 4:40 Adam Sandler?
Thanks for that very interesting, as a Nirvana fan first time around as I've gotten older and gained a wider perspective, a lot of the mystic and hyperbole about Nirvana has faded and my knowledge continues to evolve in part with the help of these uploads to gain a greater(an hopefully accurate) understanding
This video feels so weird but in a good way it feels this was recorded in 2010-2012 the quality of the camera the person recording this seems like it’s from 12 years ago but no it was 32 years ago just crazy thank you for sharing this
You should search for the footage from the Mia Zapata benefit 8/6/1993 surfaced maybe last year or the year before. It feels like a cell phone video, it's crazy! Guy apparently had like a really nice 1993 camcorder and was filming right up front at a very small show. It's nuts.
@@benjamink7105just checked it out yep you’re right! It looks great, I’m starting to think that time travel exists with the quality of some of these recordings of live nirvana shows hopefully we get the show where Kurt was dressed as Barney the dinosaur!
Just thankful that we had this even if for just a few years!!! They changed the music scene forever and we'll never see another group like this in our time! I was 20 when this was recorded. All the younger fans who weren't here yet missed out big time 😢
Thanks for sharing this, man!! That jam sounds awesome (not so sure it's an alternative version of Curmudgeon). Love to see them rehearse. Now I want the uncut version of it! :D
@@phyntaman oh, it's just a meme like "screaming crying throwing up" :D the description says "from Russia with love" so I wanted to show that we got the message. And yeah, we're not really fine, but we never are. It's a bad time to be a punk in this goddamn prison.

something about the environment here, the controlled setting, no screaming fans, the band seeming super comfortable and relaxed. like a home movie

And thanks from Trieste (Italy)
I love that this gets posted to TH-cam. In the late 90s, we traded VHS tapes of concerts and TV performances and this was one I had.
Are you sure the tape was the rehearsal and not the tv performance ?
that band changed my life as a 90s child...no regrets
And changed my life as a 90's adult. ❤
I was at the rehearsal for this SNL gig. Kurt was very quiet but still approached the audience as we cheered when they were finished.
blown out camera audio on this almost sounds better than the mix going out to tv...
I love that at 5:19 Dave Grohl starts playing the groove from Devo's cover of (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
Then 5:32 him and Krist start playing Wild Thing by Tone Loc
@@sthenx0r or the original: Van Halen's Jamie's Cryin'🤘

At 5:33, they are playing Tone Loc's "Wild Thing!"
That jam was just taking off!
That bass tone with the distorsion in the SLTS guitar solo. FUCK. Makes me want to grab my bass again.
Was that an envelope filter too or just crappy 90s recording
