Hope you guys LIKE the video. we are working to add more exterior footage and drone shots as we move along. Again, thanks to Jaguar Nashville for the use of the car. I have driven just about everything in this class ( Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Acura, Infinity and more...) The XE truly balances an enthusiast's driver focused car with luxury and comfort. You will not be disappointed. Now stop and push that LIKE button..... Thanks for watching!
Thanks guys for a great review , what I really like most is you are just enjoying a ride in a very nice car having a Conversation about the car no drama telling it like it is and the beautiful scenery keep on doing what you do this is by far the best car review I’ve ever seem
Got one (grey). Would have paid $2000 more for British Racing Green, but Jaguar didn't make it available. Not in North America, at any rate. Ferrari not doing Ferrari Red?
Great review, lots of detail. Believe that you can get ventilated seats in an option. Would be interested to see how the 2.0t tests out, less power but less weight over the front and the lease price is awesome at $299.
Thanks for watching! I have heard good things about the 2.0. Less HP but the torque really gives it a sporty feel. I had this car for about 2 weeks while my XKRS was in the shop and I put almost a 1000 miles on it and enjoyed every minute!
your movies are really gorgeous ! perfect quality. I´m trying hard, but it´s not easy. Can you tell me what equipment you use. I will follow you from now on to enjoy your vid´s ! :)
I prefer listening to american reviewers than many europeans, and i think the reason is they usually have no particular axe to grind, either pro or anti, and are therefore usually very fair and objective.Being english you know nationalism will play little or no part in their assessment which is normally unbiased.
I definitely disagree with rear wheel drive option being preferred, actually do not see any reason to go RWD other then not being able to afford the AWD option. The fuel consumption is pretty much the same, there is no spin outs in any whether. It is a much safer option for all road conditions and it is faster then RWD. In regards to Paddle Shifters, you can program the car to use it in most drive modes. Just check your manual or figure out how to use the center console controls and you can easily change them.
Gamer Clownz I agree completely from a practical standpoint; both of our daily drivers (Audi S5 and a GMC 1500 Denali) are AWD. I have driven every Jaguar variation at some point and when you drive a supercharged car RWD and AWD back to back, the RWD was more fun.... until it rained that night.... lol ..Thanks for watching Gamer! Ill have to look into the paddle shifters note... I will try it on my XKRS...
I have the V6 Supercharged XE and definitely can program it, not sure about the XKRS. In regards to RWD and AWD in dry conditions, I read many people complain that RWD when you accelerate hard the car is not stable (rear wheels sliding, etc), this does not happen with the AWD. Unless off course you consider that being more fun :). Also, I believe the AWD is faster 0-60 so not sure what would be more fun about the RWD, perhaps you can explain.
Well, it provides a more exciting (exciting=dangerous apparently) experience. Objectively, I agree with you a 100% and if I bought one for a daily driver, it would be the AWD. Subjectively, for a pure driving experience in a weekend driver, I enjoy the RWD. Its probably the hoodlum in me. lol. My 550hp RWD XKRS brings it out in me... then occasionally scares the $hit out of me at rare, unexpected moments. I think we both agree that Jaguar is definitely turned up the quality and excitement of their product. Ironically, I ran into a guy driving the very same XE35t at Costco today.... crazy!
Yes I bet :) I found myself with age to be more afraid of fast/scary driving :) which is weird because in my twenties the taxi drivers in NYC would run from me scared. Now most people complain why I drive so slow.... but with this car it's so fun to punch it once in a while. I have mine tuned so I have 420hp vs the stock 340.
Sorry to say but Jag missed a real chance to trump 3-series of C- class. Good looking car but nothing compared to beemer or merc for the same price point. Also, we all know abt Jag's reliability!
Nick V I have owned a couple of BMW 3 series and I have driven the Mercedes C-class. The XE feels the most performance oriented of any of them other than the AMG/M series. Personal preference. The reliability issues for Jag are a thing of the past. The current lines of Jags have the best standard warranties in their class. Again, I am sure I am bias and I have gotten burned on my last 2 BMWs service-wise. Thanks for the comments! I need to get some more time behind the wheel of the Mercedes also.
The Mercedes C class starts at $40K, the C450AMG around $52K, the top of the line AMG C63S starts at $75K. The BMW 3 series starts at $35k, the 340i starts at $49K and the M3 begins at $65K. The Jaguar XE Base stars at just under$36K, the Prestige model (what I tested which stickered with options at $45k, compares to the c450AMG and the 340i) starts at $40K and the top of the line R-Sport can hit $70K fully optioned. Source is KBB So i would have to say, across the board that the XE is less expensive than similarly equipped competition. The standard warranty is also 1 year and 10K miles longer and includes the maintenance.
That all being said, I have never met a more loyal fan base than car people. They all make great cars and we are fortunate that we can choose what fits our style! Bring your BMW over, let us review it and we will give it a fair shake!
very beautiful car inside out but it lacks the gradual maturity of its German rivals for sure! Experience accumulation in BMW and Merc or even Audi, makes them much more reliable and value for money. Also, I never managed to understand why Jag engineers preferred super charge over turbo charge! They were gonna make a lorry or a compact saloon?!
Daniel Osdinia thanks for watching! On the Supercharger vs turbo note, not sure. I currently have a XK-RS and an Audi S5 which are both supercharged. I do enjoy the consistent power curve that these cars provide. I am going to make it a point to drive some more turbo powered cars in the future (how can I avoid it now a days...lol)
your movies are really gorgeous ! perfect quality. I´m trying hard, but it´s not easy. Can you tell me what equipment you use. I will follow you from now on to enjoy your vid´s ! :)
Sorry about the delay and thanks! We just drove 2000 miles in 49 hrs to pick our newest addition to the fleet, a 1972 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 { stayed tuned.. video to come..) Ok.. Canon Rebel T6i DSLR with a Rode shotgun Mic, GoPro Hero3 Silvers (good)and Hero4Blacks (very good!)... (got a GoPro Session5 and a Hero 5Black coming, interested to see those..) several shots with the Iphone7+, which I use more than you would believe, and last and my favorite, the DJI Phantom4 which we are still learning how to use but has a lot of potential. for audio, all of the interior shots were with the audio from the GoPro Hero4Black which has surprising performance for an action Cam. for voice overs, I use the Zoom H5 stereo mic. Curt also has a DSLR...not sure which one tho. Maybe more info than you were looking for, but I asked the same questions several months ago from TH-camrs also and bought most of what they recommended. We have kind of a large budget for this stuff and we are always adding to it. If you have recommendations for us let us know. Thanks for watching! We will check out your channel!
Thank you very much for your detailed answer. My budget is not as big. Working with Gopro 5 most of the time. Some shots with Canon m3. I would like to use a drone. But here in Austria the laws are very tough - especially filming with drones is strong restricted ... - I wish you a lot of fun with the 72 e-type. I´m sure you will have !
Just a follow up.. the Hero 5 is awesome but I think the audio for the hero4 is a little better. The hero 5 comes with a display screen which is handy for setting up shots. I have started recording everything in 1080 rather than 4k because of battery life but also because it is a lot easier to work with in editing. Haven't done anything with the Hero Session yet... they way it mounts doesnt make it too handy for exterior car stuff.
Great review. Loved the interaction between the two of you.
Patricia A Smith thanks anonymous car enthusiast who is not related to me. LOL

Got to be among the best looking cars in the segment. Really fantastic vehicle.
I think so! thanks for watching!
Great review thanks guys. Great production values too! FYI, paddle shift on/off by driving mode is a menu item in settings.
barrowboy66 Thanks and thanks for the comment!

peter feltham thanks! And thanks for watching!
Except that they insist on calling a Jaguar as Jag"wire". ;-)
Jeoka Gem hey, we are from NASHVILLE... cut us some slack... lol.... thanks for watching!
It was meant as tongue-in-cheek bud. No harm intended. :-) All the best.
We call it a J-u-are.
One more XKRS upgrade you won't regret ...... Spires Stage 2 rear back box.... active or inactive..... YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!!! TRUST ME....
We got one of these. Love it.
Cool! did you get the supercharged model?
It's not Jagwire, it's Jag-U-R

420hp... WOW! have you seen the new XE SVR OMG! 480hp in this little 4 door! woot!. bout time for my wife to trade in her S5.....
There will be steel in there structurally for crash safety peel a door skin off and lots of steel to give reinforcement
Matt Wagner Good point... thanks for watching!
Jaguar XE without the daytime running LEDs in the headlights just looks awful ☹️
i love mine, tina is what i it

Maybe but at the similar price point ??
