I've been working at a body shop for a bit now and extra tips I learned was if you're painting the door, it's better to take off the mirror and belt molding (the trim at the bottom of the window) for a better paint job in the end. The mirror can get in the way, and if you're unlucky, the clear coat could stick in that gap between the door and the belt molding.
I've had 4 Grand Cherokees 1 with 5.2 and 3 with 4.0. 2 of the 4.0s went to 340k+ miles. Currently driving a 2001 Durango SLT Plus. the Jeeps were/are made to a higher level of quality and are timeless no matter what year you have. Soon I'll park the Durango and get another WJ. Love the 4.0 engine.
This is an amazing tour, I like the long stretches of the ambient sounds of the plants, there are workers present but focused on the tasks. This takes me back decades to grade school when education was job "1", the great films, that's right, no video, shown in class were a great experience. It proved the value and importance of great principled cinema bringing to a classroom and the world, priceless information and knowledge. One film documentary that was predecessor to this video was "The Rouge", it told the story of the Ford River Rouge Complex, the oldest continuous operating auto production plant. It lacked, by design, any discernible dialog, just the ballet of industry expressed in technicolor pantomime, unforgettable. I wish there was a preserved copy of "The Rouge", it would be great to share that with my children and their peers. The video copy on youtube is badly faded, missing portions and in need of restoration. Sadly, like so many thousands of short films, documentaries and popular cinema produced outside the Hollywood sphere, they are all probably gone, deteriorated into silver nitrate and celluloid dust, sad...

I watch all American assembly plants of Auto mobile. I think they all are doing a great job of building the vehicles . It's when the vehicle is sold to the customers is were the problem start is how the vehicle is taken care of . If you want the vehicle to last you change oil at 4000 miles not 7000/10.000 or 15.000.which some oil and Automobiles manufacturers requirements. Service you transmission no longer then 50.000 miles not 100.000 miles and wash the salt off the painted and the underneath in the northern states. Remember the engineers are not paying for repairing your vehicles after the warranty are off .
It's amazing this company name still exists, they have been plagued with bankruptcies, bailouts, and poor quality for decades. Our K-car burnt to the ground on Christmas Eve and left us stranded in the cold. The people complaining about robots taking jobs may be true of unskilled assemblers, but there are more highly skilled jobs created because of them.

And….where do you think money from America car sales goes…..
It least my Asian car will last longer than 10 years before it’s turned into a beer can…..
Assembled, with Japanese steel, plastic, design and parts.
I have family members that work at the Honda plant in Lincoln. I used to live in Talladega and remember when that plant was built. I work at the Kia plant in West Point, Georgia where we build the Sorrento, K5, and exclusively build the Telluride!!!
To the haters of these Asian vehicle plants, think about the jobs created, not only by the specific automotive manufacturers, but also the thousands of jobs produced through suppliers and vendor plants as well as the money injected into local economies that creates more jobs in other places like restaurants, grocery stores, housing, and a host of other industries. So, think before you condemn.

dang thos dodge rams look so much better than any other brand out there today for new models, i want one bad lol. they have the best design people working for them.
cool video ! hope they keep making them im waiting for a Durango rt !!
This is what Americans' dream in reality . God bless America.
It's a bummer how many robots there is.i love the on hands love you workers are putting into each American made car.but it's a lot different now days
At least half the jobs still there are replaceable. But unions have slowed the process. Now everyone in the engine and transmission shops are being shown the door. Electric cars are dead simple to assemble and the part count is 1/100th of todays cars.
It's not a bummer, the more robots the better the quality.
@@anthonyxuereb792 the more automation, the higher the cost of initial investment, and also to replace/repair broken automation. Guess who is paying for those costs in the end..... (give you a hint...not one of the robots)
@@davefroman4700 on the flip side, with all of the new electrification and autonomous vehicles, there are more Electric modules and more wiring connections in the vehicles. So far robots a rent able to make many of those, requiring operators to do this work. The automotive sector is making big shifts for sure!
@@tonycharron73 There are more in the OEM products because they do not know how to make an electric car efficiently. You look at a Tesla and there are actually less electrical connections than a traditional car
Than you for providing, american made quality cars,👌☝️👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Very and super nice, my respect to all those people that makes possible we can drive good vehicles, but I have a question, how they connects all wires in the interior underneath dashboard and other patts????
Cool job
I would like to work there.
They’re probably making 35 bucks an hour
Goodworkmanship love all the styles they just need better seats 💺 from Heritage Sites !!! And the need to be faster !!! Lots more drag also!!!!
Machine great work
Prices keep going up wages stay the same or decrease
Welcome to 1977!
Union workers earn more than non-unionized workers. Recently Amazon workers voted again Union representation. For some strange reason people vote against their own self-interest. Then they complain they can’t make ends meet with their current pay, or when they lack health insurance.
@@vmyhdz - as a former Union Field Rep show me the employee contracts to working conditions. Its convenient to make allegations when actual written conditions of employment are NOT included.
In years past many unions have squandered away members benefit funds and retirement monies leaving hundreds of thousands penniless. Paid full time union administration miss-uses memberships monies attending out of town meetings lobbying both state and federal officials.
As with most organizations, say Insurance companies, they are legalized Cartels, nothing other. But thats life in the fast lane
@@garbinator09 Thank you Gary. What you said here is why I no longer support unions. Some people only tell one side of the story but never mention what goes on behind the scenes. And the main reason is misuse of members funds.
@@leedaniels7196 - Yes, in my case, my union just donated 1.5 million to Gov Newsom recall effort. Makes me mad

Average autoworker rate is $17 up to $28. Of course benefits add a great deal to this amount
So $22.50 is the average?
I work for a chrysler powertrain plant making $25.46 with night shift premium of 10% its more like $28. we top out around $31 with decent benifits along with profit sharing. Its a pretty good job, the hardest part of it is getting a fulltime position i got lucky to be offered a spot and moving to the plant im at now, but i know there are people who started with me in 2019 that are still part timers(tpts) at my old factory. The contract up this september, would really like to see a cost of living agreement come back.
I built the seats that went to this factory

My next car is going to be an American car. I still have my Cadillac in my garage. I just cannot let it go.
Workers just wearing normal street clothes. No uniforms, no steel toes, no pride. Glad thats what the UAW is fighting for.
You just don't get America, do you. They don't WANT uniforms.

Handle made in Taiwan, shank made in China, "assembled" in USA. 😑
Years ago, well around 2003, I was a Shop Foreman for a large Toyota dealership here in Maryland. I've seen SOoooo many different occurrences with BRAND NEW vehicles tbh, uncountable 🤑😔🤔😆 I remember 1 time, a BRAND NEW 4 Runner was being delivered, and the truck driver COULDN'T get it off the car carrier 😲😣 It had NO REVERSE !!! Mind you BRAND NEW
Nice to see the making of these vehicles. Does anybody know the timeframe from start to finish of the making of a typical Grand Cherokee or pick up truck ?
Mass-produced cars typically take between 18 to 35 hours to manufacture.
My Cadillac is solid...she is an Antique, I plan to have it leaned, detailed, repainted and whole engine redevelop.
Meaning cleaned...
It Is because we are still the best! God bless America and God bless us all!

I see alot of dodge pickups on the roads, i don't know about you, but jeep sales are absolutely through the roof. That's just two of the vehicles, i didn't say anything about how popular the other vehicles made are. I'm not saying they are the best vehicles made, i personally don't own any of their vehicles.
I think that mystery has been solved, their sales are extremely high, that i have seen & I'm all over the US traveling for my work.
@16:21 The true meaning of body on frame👍👍
how many workers are on a shift.. Its pretty neat watching how everyone has there little station to work on the same part all day... And the robots are so cool. So what's it cost to set up all that to make one vehicle
People that built these 50 years ago look at this and go "dang they got it easy...we had to lift and haul all that by hand."

Ive notice in all these build YT by all the manufacturers that they allow long hair and long braided pony tails. Always saw that as a safety hazard
Vanity eclipses safety when all your supporters are on social media.
It's my guess that if the employer tells the employee to do something with their hair the employee might scream "discrimination "

The people complaining about robots taking jobs may be true of unskilled assemblers, but there are more highly skilled jobs created because of them.
nice work
Me sorprende ver qué cada operario lleve su ropa de calle y sin botas de seguridad ni guantes de protección,la seguridad aquí no existe
Stellantis I'm not an SUV fan at all and Chrysler is one of my favorite brands re invent the the 300 from the ground up bring back the 200 upgrade these beautiful cars don't get rid of them and also the town and country which is more reliable than these SUVs run into around the streets. There are still sedan, coupe, minivan station wagon people still out here. Make Chrysler the ultimate luxury brand with some work and effort it can be done.
I have a 2010 Grand Caravan made in the Windsor plant. This car has second and third row stow and go seats. In about 2 minutes they all fold flat into the floor and I have hauled multiple 4 x 8 sheets of building material in it. Then the seats pop back up and I've got a 7 passenger limousine. But the current version of this car is the Chrysler Voyager, which only has the third row stow and go. Please bring back 2nd and 3rd row stow and go on the Voyager. I dont' want/need a Pacifica.
@@reecenewton3097 Yes I do agree what's not broken don't fix but you and I both know everything is all about looks and some of the looks don't look like a real car more like space ships. Stow and go was the best thing ever and also the first minivan to have double sliding doors. I miss it all.
Keep the Penta Star rolling.
You like your minivan engine I take it🤨
I noticed when they brought out the jk with the pentastar is right about the time their reputation for reliability and durability went down the toilet .
2026 you can add a 440. With all this you can save money by only producing 60 of each models you have. The blazer can always maintain a 5.2.
What a crying shame to see robots instead of people doing the work !!!
Can you imagine getting that new car smell all day?
