  • I visited Pelle Lindbergh's grave on the 25th anniversary of his death. I brought with me a puck which I left as a tribute. It simply read, "FROM ALL FLYERS FANS", and is for everyone that may never get the chance to pay their respects in person.

    I remember exactly where I was, what I was doing when I heard those words, "Philadelphia Flyers Pelle Lindbergh is brain dead." It was supreme of you to make the journey and to leave a tribute for all of us. Thank you.

    I was also there today and I saw your puck. I thought it was a very touching tribute by you. I left a flower and an engraved stone with the words "We'll never forget you", but it was pitch dark so I didn't get any good pictures.
    Thank you Stockgnome

      I was about 15 or so, myself, when Lindbergh passed away, and being from Wisconsin, didn't really have a "favorite" hockey team. I just remember feeling really sad for the Flyers and Pelle's family and friends. He really was an exceptional goalie. 💔

      No one will wear the number again, but they can't officially retire it because of how it happened. A lot of people have made the same dumb decisions. This one turned out horribly

    With the passing of Swedish hockey pioneer Borje Salming, I thought of Pelle! The Flyers were off to such a great start in the 85-86 season. The Broad Street bullies were the reason I became a hockey fan and a flyers fan! So, when Pelle gave a great speech about Bernie Parent when he won the Vezina, I became more of a fan of Pelle.

    He died in a car accident. He hit a stone wall head on in his Porsche on November, 10 1985. He was pronounced brain dead, and died the following day. :-( I still miss him to this day.

      @geslinam9703 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stone wall was in front of a house, in a residential neighborhood, and the accident happened after leaving an after hours bar. It think there were two other people in the car with him, but can’t remember if anyone lived.

    Is everyone forgetting he was drunk driving when he crashed? The Coliseum was where they practiced in the daytime but it was also night club after hours that I knew well.
