Interesting set-up there, seems like this crossing must have had a problem with misuse, if they have to have such a huge amount of warning equipment for it, love the halogen MWL signals though! I guess the speed camera's used by the signaller to monitor the crossing, with the E2S alarm being used as a speaker to tell people to get off of the crossing.
The white E2S alarm switched on when someone got too close to the tracks. It has since been disabled due to the fence being installed. It also played a voice message saying “Do not cross the railway whilst red lights are showing. Trains may be approaching from both directions. CCTV images are being recorded now, and may be passed to the police.”
the yellow speed camera used to play a recorded message warning you that your being recorded but water got into the box muffling it and then eventually making them turn it off when the gates were installed
It's really interesting what they have done here, though I feel for the guy trapped in the box all day needing to operate the black gates. I guess it was for the best as this and Poole level crossing have seen tonnes of misuse every day.

It would of been better to make it like an MCB-CCTV with SPX smallest barriers.
It should be converted to a barrier crossing like Grays and Dunmurry

I guessing that white e2s alarm is where the women voice use to come from. Saw that in another video which was before those massive gates got put in.
This should be an mcb cctv in my opinion
It was originally, in the 1970's & 80's. Though it had gates & "wig-wags", rather than barriers.
