- GaMetal climbs to the top of the Tal Tal Mountain Range for this remix of Tal Tal Heights from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening!
Link's Awakening is one of my personal favorite Game Boy titles, so you could only imagine my inner hype when the Link's Awakening remake for Switch was revealed.
Tal Tal Heights is one of those songs that have been on my 'meaning to get to for years' list, and with the remake coming, there's no better time to hit up one my personal favorite Zelda tunes.
PS If you're a Link's Awakening fan and you haven't played the Oracle games, do it. They're great.

Legend has it that Jonny played this at the summit and the Wind Fish headbanged his way out of the egg.
"Not much further to go. Though is waking the Wind Fish really worth it? All these people, they just want their home. These 'monsters' as we call them just want their home...and yet, I've slaughtered thousands of them, just to see mine again. Who's the real monster here? Doesn't matter, only a little ways left to go."
But if it isn't awakened, the innocent people will constantly be attacked... Eventually, not even you can save them all. But if it's all a dream, a memory, they will live forever in your heart.
It's a dream, dude. I would say that it's not morally wrong to slaughter the monster that try to kill you, but it doesn't matter, since it's all a *dreeeeeeaaaaaam*
Kirbio they were never real. The only thing that was real was Link, The Nightmares, The Windfish, and possibly the owl
What hurts is that you grow so close to the characters that you don't want to say goodbye to the dream, but, as the hero, you have to. But yes, they do live on in your heart.

At part of the credits, you'll see an image of Marin appear, along with a seagull, while the ballad plays briefly again, as though her wish to become a seagull came true, and allowed her to survive the wind fish's awakening
Sweet Jesus, this generates unreasonable amounts of hype for me. Probably the best Tal Tal Heights cover I've ever heard.
Well it constantly has the beginning part of the LoZ theme in it (yes i know it's originally the overworked theme)
Imho every cover that Johnny makes is the best cover I've ever heard

Also, I will like to see an EarthBound remake on Switch with the Link's Awakening remake art style.
Screw it. I want the whole mother trilogy remade in that art style! Idk how they would do the battles tho.
I don't think it's underrated cuz it's one of the best selling Game Boy Zelda games ever and it have a remix in Smash Brothers

Invader Zebanyan DX That’d be a much better use for the art style than its current use
I love the lemotif at 1:15, it reminds me so much of Oracle of Ages and Seasons. Two of the most underrated Zelda games, by the way.

Tal Tal Heights is easily one of my favorite Zelda tracks of all time, and I've always put some badass metal drums to it in my head. You sir, brought that to life for me lol. Them drum fills though! the bends! the harmonics and whammy action! This video is gonna get tons of views from me over time lol.
Not even 20 seconds in and I've already liked it, since I know it's gonna be awesome!
Tal Tal Heights are the glorious heights to which we all wish to reach one day, like this remix.

I had no idea you could do that with the boomerang, I mean I knew it was basically an uberang in this game, but like... flying over it with a powerful cucoo and basically turning it into a whirling blade of death below you is just brilliant.

The oracle games were so good!!! Very first Zelda games I ever played.
This is easily the best cover of this song on TH-cam. I hope to hear more Link's Awakening soon.

This was my favourite Zelda overworld theme when I was a kid. And it took forever for anyone to do a cover, the last time I saw it done was a live cover by the Onion Knights. Surprised, as I looked, there were many many many more than I had thought... Good cover Gametal, loved the gameplay inclusion.

this captures the original so well it's insane. that bass and keys sync shortly after the minute and a half mark made me smile so hard.

Since next month is Side Quests 2 month, maybe the final round version of Duomo di Sirio from Tekken 7 mayhaps? I know its not a side quest kind of thing, but there are character related stories. Which are kind of side quests but, you get the idea. Anyways, excellent job Jonny, as always!

Yes! I've been waiting for this! My favourite theme from any Zelda game! Link's Awakening was my first TLoZ game, so it's so cool to hear this again, but in a crazy Metal cover!

This is the first game I ever bought, for 42.83 back in 99.
It was my first Gameboy game as well. I bought it from a friend really cheap. It was the German version and you couldn't change the language. I managed to finish it, despite not understanding most of the dialogue. I also never knew about the library and found my way inside the egg purely by accident. It was an amazing experience.
@@AlienFreak69 In the German version, the former translator Claude M. Moyse cheated dirty jokes into the game.
Unfortunately, they have removed their humor from The Gameboy Color Version. This energetic octopus says in the German version when you sprinkle it with powder and talk to it "Give me your juice, I'll give you mine"

I'm not even a big Zelda fan (only ever finished Breath of the Wild) but I know this is my favorite version of the main theme. And here it's only better!

I saw the song title and knew it'd be epic with your artistic creative remastering so I gave a like before I listened from the pure anticipation and excitement alone then I listened, it was climactic and explosive and now I'm in love. XD
