Hey Matt, More importantly, I gave myself that excuse! Lol I've been, and will be playing around with intro's and outro's, I know you are aware of the amount of time it takes to do the editing, and I'm not super patient with sitting on the computer long enough to learn new way to make videos. Lol Oh btw...great job on getting the T-Bird back down on the dollies, and removing the dent in the lower rad support/frame...I thing I would have done it pretty much the same way, on both of those tasks.
Alvin, So that's why my welds turn out so bad. Now you tell me. I knew it wasn't me. Stupid machine! 😠 Very educational video, my friend. Good job. Regards, John
Thank you John, Lol...sorry to be slow, letting you in on this! BTW...I'll have to try your Italian bread, I haven't made bread in years, but It was always one of my favorite kitchen things to do.
Hello Alvin I had an old Lincoln tomb stone way back. I paid $125.00 US for it. I fabricated and repaired many things with it over the next thirty five years. I sold it to a guy that was looking for one for $125.00. Then I bought a Italian made mig at the first annual Syracuse Nationals (Car show). years slipped by; I was contacted by Miller, offered a huge discount and bought the MIller I currently own. The Lincold that I sold is still running. So is the Italian Mig. And the Miller still runs smooth as butter. I never had an issue with any one of them. I enjoyed your video. The manufacturers tend to use a bit of poetic license when rating machines. Not just welders I might add. Have an awsome weekend.....Walt
Hiya Alvin I’m diggin the new entro! I’ve had my dads miller 225 since he died in 2002, and never used it due to a plug in never fit in any of the houses I lived in (rentals and army houses don’t carry that sort of outlet). When we find the last forever home (and I’ll wire in my own outlet), I now know how to check the ratings. Thank you And as always I look forward to your next video!
Hey Troy, It is hard to get set up the way you want if you don't own the property, for the most part, I have been fortunate enough to be able to work away from home, and establish a permanent home for my family...I know that not everyone has that luxury. I've been trying on new things with the video editing, trying to make things more interesting, but when it comes to video editing, my mind goes to mush pretty quickly. Lol 🧠🔨 Thank you for always being here!
Hello Alvin. Guess that explains that. I would just get some masking tape and a sharpie and relabel it. I bought one of those some 40 years ago. Never had a need to weld thick metal with it. I ended up buying a mig welder instead for sheet metal. Someone got a good deal when I gave it up to my wife's garage sale for $60. 😕 George B
Hey George, I was saying to 442olds, the bottom of the slide bar is pretty much the correct point, I will not likely ever weld anything with this machine below 50 amps anyway, I'll just use my MIG for those projects. Yes, $60 is a good deal for the person that got your old machine!
I did a search on youtube, "thunderbird restoration". None of your videos come up. And even when I filtered the results to "this week" and "today", still nothing. Then I added "jamison" to the end of the search field, and finally it this video came up. I think you might need to add some key words or something, or just make sure your title or description has "thunderbird" in it. I am subscribed, but your videos get buried a lot. Hope this helps...
That's odd, because I do have all of those words in my key word box, I'll go change the hash tag to say thunderbird, not ford thunderbird. Thank you for pointing this out. 🤔
Thank you! This is incredibly timely for me (a reorg of my shop and I uncovered my old arc welder). I'll have to check it before relearning to weld. Side note - I wonder if a shorter extension cord would help the output of your welder? Thanks again, for all you do, Chuck
Hey Chuck, It's amazing what we can find when we do a shop clean up...often multiples of the same item! lol The cord gauge I'm using is rated high enough, and its not very long, but long cords can definitely effect the performance of electrically driven machines. Thank you for pointing that out...it is often over looked.
@@J_R_Shop I'm laughing and nodding - I did indeed find multiples. I figured you had the gauge of wire handled, more of a hope on my part (if that makes sense).
@@charlesdalton985 yesterday, I found three sets of hole cutters, and only a couple of days ago I bought a new one, because I could find "my d^^n hole cutters" 😧
Hey Alvin. I like the new look intro and exit video. You know you just gave everyone an excuse for their bad welds.. lol

Thank you Walt,
Miller and Lincoln make great machines, and for the professional, they are what is needed...well built for and long lasting.

You could make a simple needle indicator and screw it to the side of the handle to get it more in tune to the proper amp setting I suppose.
I was thinking about something along that line, funny that the bottom of the slide bar is pretty much the correct measure point.
