Fifty 567 Club - 50th Anniversary Western Canadian Meet - Warman SK 2024
A quick look, at some amazing Tri-Five Chevy cars at the Fifty 567 Club 50th Anniversary meet in Warman, SK.
Beverley was struggling with the camera gimble drifting downward, and we lost a lot of footage...but we managed to save enough for a look at some really nice old Chevy cars!

Great video. I need to replace the blower motor, I might as well change the fan and everything else. Thank you!
@@YoakinDamian you're welcome, and thank you for stopping by my channel. 🙂
Very good. Thank you very much.
You're welcome, thank you for stopping by my channel! 🙂
You can not get better than that , when they bring the car show to you. About 90 Fahrenheit.Thx for taking us along.
Yes, and I would have felt bad, if I hadn't taken the time to go look, only a few steps away from home. It's not unusual for us to get temps in the 90's Fahrenheit, but we don't often get high humidity with it....so we have to suffer like everyone else this year. 🥵
So many chevys. I'm with George. I like the wagons. Thanks for the peek at the show.
Yes, quite a collection! Like I replied to George...I want them all! Lol
Great show - thank you for taking us along ~ Chuck
You're welcome Chuck, we had a great time checking out the old classics. 😎
Hello Alvin. Very nice video of the car meet. I kind of like the station wagon models. George B
Hi George, It was a good day, we got to see so many awesome cars, I want them all! Lol
Hiya Alvin Those are some beautiful tri-fives! I know you not much of a Chevy guy but thanks for sharing. Gives me a little kick to get into gear for me to get my ‘57 finished.
Hey Troy, It was a great opportunity to see this many 567s all in one spot! I'm the same, just need that little push to get back to the 65 Convertible.
Could you get the power reduces Light cuz of this?
The reduced power light didn't come on when it happened to our car.
Nice van
Howdy neighbour!
Hi my 2010 journey stalls when accelerating and somwtimes just in park and while drive has like hiccups and traction control light comes on and engine light is flashing along with tire pressure. I took the throttle body off and cleaned it still same problem. Going to do the spark plugs next any advice would help thank you. Im a tradesman can DIY majority unless i need a special tool
Hi Mike, You have a lot going on with that Journey, what DTC codes are you getting? The ABS/Traction control can be a simple as a wheel speed sensor or TPMS, but the engine issues can range greatly, the fault codes may help lead to the problem(s), and eliminate the guess work. I wish I could give you more to go on. 🤔
@J_R_Shop thinking a fuel ratio problem got a live scan Friday will update thanks for replying
Getting to look over the hood of a 65 going down the road brought back some great memories! That Chevy around 9:00 was listed as a 69, I'm thinking 63. My eyes shot to the 87 442, my older son has an 86. Great show - I love it when there's a mixture of years, makes, and styles. Thank you for taking us along ~ Chuck
Hey Chuck, It is a 64 Biscayne, I had to stop the video to see the details in the window sheet...the angle of the camera, coupled with the movement, makes it look like it's listed as a 69. I would have loved to have spent more time there, so many cars that we didn't get to look at, maybe next time. 😊
@@J_R_Shop Thank you for clarifying, I was confused thinking "Surely the owner knows what he has". Makes sense now. Thanks again for taking us along. ~ Chuck
At 1:50, the right-turn indicator on the fender isn't flashing while you're stilling still, then starts again as you start to move. Does that indicate a voltage regulator issue? I've noticed that on other cars.
Funny you mention that, I thought it may have been a side effect of the LED swap I did, but the guy in this video, with the red 66 T-Bird was telling me his does the same thing, and he has the original bulbs in his indicators...it could very well be the regulator, or the alt is just not keeping up, I'll have to do a little testing.
Thanks for the ride-along. Enjoyed seeing the T-Bird on the road.
You're welcome John, we have been driving it a lot this summer...it's been fun! 😎
That last Galaxie with the 390 looked very nice
It sure is a nice one, we wanted to get a look at the engine bay, but the owner was away, and then the camera shut down...maybe next time.
Thank you for this video. My rear window is working perfectly now. Bad breaker and a couple bad factory connections. Thanks again!
You're welcome, I'm glad the video was helpful! Thanks for visiting my channel. 👍
Beverly in the '56 reminds me of Suzanne Somers in American Graffiti, nice!
Yes it does, Beverley says she would have to find a Thigh Master to make it a complete package! Lol
Camera couldn't handle all that goodness. Thx
Lol...no it couldn't, also the +32c heat took its toll on it.
A pretty nice 69 Landau. I had one in high school with factory sunroof! Good to see you out driving the 65.
It is a nice 69 T-Bird, and a factory sun roof would have been quite nice! We have been driving the 65 T-Bird & the VW Cabriolet quite often this summer, Beverley drives the Cabriolet just about everyday.
Thanks for the tour. Did you live in Halifax at one time?
Hey Walt, I grew up in Nova Scotia, on the North Shore, went to Halifax when looking for cars...the selection was better in "the big city". Lol
Great video, my 4100 runs good until it heats up and then the rpm’s get really high in park and neutral. And car pops into gear hard. Any ideas to correct these symptoms? Thanks for your help and knowledge.
I've had issues with the secondaries sticking open a little after warming up, and causing high idle...maybe check that?
Thanks, I will.
Hello Alvin. Leave it to you to find a cheap work-around. I always enjoy your videos. You actually fix things. Lynne's Dodge Journey has HS issues with her key fob frequently. I have found that if the fob battery voltage drops below 3.1 volts it stops working. So I pop in new batteries and we are good again for up to a half year.
Thank you Walt! I can relate to your key fob issues, my wife's Cadillac is constantly needing new batteries for the FOBs, very frustrating, since you can't do much without at least one of them working. 😡
Great video. Thanks for sharing!
Hello Alvin. That must have been driving you mad. You would think the service department could figure it out. I think they are mostly mechanics, and lack the knowledge to troubleshoot electronics. I'm glad to hear that you will hook up the parking lights and not the horn. Seems that a lot of people push the lock button a minimal of three times. George B
Hi George, It has been sooooo frustrating, and I know it's something simple, like a wire that has been cut, or a bad connection...I'll keep working on it, but now we use the FOBs.☺️ Oh man, I really dislike it when people do that with their horns connected... especially early in the morning in a camp ground! 😡
Alvin, Say what? 61? Good grief, you're just a kid. No sniveling allowed. 😋 Regards, John
Lol...I know! 😎
Alvin, Like other strippers nowadays, Klean Strip does work well on some things, but poorly on others. The key to using any of them is exercising mega-patience and you'll get there. Regards, John
Hi John, I actually, I was pleasantly surprised with applying it with a sprayer, it was much clearer to use than the gel. I think you are right, just need to exercise patience. 👍
Nice Bronco find! Im sure you know already but you could sell those red interior pieces to fund other stuff for the project. I have a two tone 79 Bronco my self!
Thank you, I'll be starting this project later in the year, and I did sell those red seats for a nice price. 👍☺️
@@J_R_Shopdid you also sell the console?
@@LXCScaleCars yeah, the guy that bought the seats also bought the console.
dose the app work in landscape mode as well? wondering how itll appear on my android headunit
It does work in landscape on my pixel 6, the only thing is that you need to scroll a little to see the lower section of the display...it may show differently on your android dash display, but it does go into landscape mode.
@@J_R_Shop thanks mate, sounds perfect!
Thanks for your videos. Between you, Nick and John I’m slowly getting my 66 road worthy. I have the rear seat cushion removed and not sure how to remove the seat back. Do the arm rests have to be removed first? Does the trim above the seat back have to be removed? I’m replacing all of my vacuum hoses and checking each vac canister. Thanks again, Mike
Hi Mike, Yes, the arm rests need to be removed, but not the trim above the seat back. There should only be one bolt holding each seat in place, once you remove those bolts, then you will need to pull down on the seat backs to get them out...they can be a little stubborn, but will come down and out.
@@J_R_Shop I thought that might need to be done but have not figured out how to remove the plastic buttons covering the arm rest screws. I sure don’t want to damage one of those, probably very hard to find them.
I was able to remove the plastic plugs by gently prying them off with plastic interior removal tools. Thanks again.
I recall using Klean Strip aircraft stripper on a car about 18 years ago and it would take it down to the bare metal. It probably was too polluting or bad for the environment as I recall it was very potent. Thanks for doing this test. I have some similar work coming soon.
Hi Jeff, Yes, the old stuff did get replaced, and for the reasons you suggested...but it looks like we can finally buy something almost as good. 👍☺️
I love it when a plan comes together!!
Hey Troy, It's not often a guy gets this lucky! Lol
Does 2013 have the same problem, man i changed everything, nothing worked for me, this error is driving me crazy
I believe GM used the same type of magnetic ring on the later models, it's worth a look to see if you have a broken ring.
Hello Alvin. You sure lucked out! Did you buy a loto ticket after that? On that chain guide, did the plastic pieces end up in the oil pan? Hope not. That's the biggest smile ever! George B
Hey George, I have to say, it was a much better day after getting the broken bolt out! 😄 The guide did go into the pan, I managed to get most of it out, there are a couple of small pieces unaccounted for. I can't see anymore with my bore scope, so I guess it is what it is now. 😎
Good job! I stay away from engines with chains and guides but its looking like thats all they make these days. I think most shops stay away from these type of snowball crap shows. Even trying to get a good used engine is a nightmare not worth the hassle cept for maybe doing it on your own vehicle if you have the capability .
Thanks! Yes, these chain setups are a real pain, and can turn very ugly in a short time.
Congratulations and I'd bet a bunch of us know how you felt! Every now and then, we all deserve a little good fortune. Take care ~ Chuck
Yes Chuck...I am sure there are many out there who watch, that have had that rush of getting a broken bolt out without hours work, it sure is a good feeling! Lol
Did you ever readjust that steering wheel. I need to know how to do that
Hi Mark, I did get it straightened up, when I replaced the drag link, I adjusted the tie rods to align the steering wheel. That is the correct way to do it, but if your alignment is already good, and you don't want to mess with it, you can cheat a little by taking the steering wheel off, and put it back on where you need it to be...the spline isn't indexed, so it can go back on where ever you want it.
Hiya Alvin! I’ll definitely use that on some extra body parts on my ‘57. Thanks for reminding me there are other ways besides polycarbonate discs and media blasting. That is a lot less mess.
Hey Troy, I think this will work well in those really tight places where sanding is very difficult, fingers crossed that I just didn't get luck with this test piece. 🙄
That worked out pretty good. I tried to use some chemical strippers on my brothers vw bug and they just didn’t work that well so I sand blasted. I was fortunate with my T-bird that most of the paint had faded away and sanding and blasting was faily easy. Looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you. Thanks for the product demo.
Hi Matt, I haven't had much luck in the past with paint strippers either, but this one surprised me. 😊
Going to base coat and clear coat? Or single stage paint. Clear coat is nice once you get the hang of it. Plus you need 2 part clear coat not the crappy cheap stuff that comes in a spray can, although Spray max has a 2k two part clear in a can but has not much shelf life once activated.
I'm not decides on the paint yet, I'm not fond of the look of base coat/clear coat on these old classics...but on the other hand it's far more durable than the single stage stuff. I've seen a couple of people do a combination of clear and single stage, I have to dig into that more before spending the money.
hi Alvin, I follow a Canadian furniture restorer on YT, John's furniture repair, and she gets excellent results with a stripper made by the swing paint co only available in Canada and I think easy to find in Canada. the stripper is called circa 1850 paint stripper and is thin so easily sprayable though she usually applies by brush. perhaps that would pull up the red oxide primer. carry on. thanks
I'll check into that David, I think I have seen that Circa 1850 at Home Hardware. Thank you for the heads up! 😊
Hello Alvin. That stuff works real well. I bought the same brand but gel type that didn't seem to work as well as what you just showed. I found that the aircraft paint remover in spray form worked very well, but it's pricey. Thanks for showing! That fender looks like the best part of the car. George B
Hey George, Yes, it worked better than I thought it would, and I quite like that it's sprayable. Lol...that front fender is the best part of this car, likely only because it had been replaced sometime after the car was built.
Thank you for the tip, that worked better than I imagined (I've heard the new stuff isn't as good). Many, many, years ago I helped a friend strip a front end he had bought. We had the same experience with the red oxide factory primer. He said - "we've hit it with stripper, scraped it, and cleaned it. If it's still hanging on like this, I say we scuff it, prime it, and paint it". The parts looked great for the next several years he owned it. Once again, many thanks to ~ Chuck
Your welcome Chuck! I agree, if it is still in good condition, reuse it. 😊

27:00 Cant stress enough to check or at least, use a bit of heat and flux to Re-Melt the Solder joins to the Coil windings .. Believe it or not "Dry Solder joints" Can exist and are easily Fixed, before throwing away good windings .. IMO ... Otherwise Good Investigation and teaching 👍👍
Fantastic video! 6.1 SRT had the exact same issue. Replaced 4k+ in parts before finding this PCM video.
Thanks! These intermittent electrical issues are sometimes hard to find, and it can be very frustrating. 😡
I guess I need to pull mine out and take a look at them. I'm sure they're brittle and this will be helpful info. Another great idea for these old car projects
Hey Alvin, excellent repair idea. Now I want to see what you do for the broken vinyl at the hand grip. Those are much harder to fix. My drivers door panel has a crack at the grip and the original owner put matching tape over the crack that is still there. I cant believe it lasted that long. Otherwise they are in pretty good condition. The mylar stuff is also a great idea. The original paper is always missing, always. Sometimes I use plastic and I use caulk to hold it like original. Its not so messy. If the carpet is also coming off, I guess one could resin both sides and then glue the carpet back to the door panel. Theres always more than one issue. Thanks Alvin, great job and great tip for people.
Thank you Nick, about a year ago, I was testing some epoxies on the pull handle area of a panel from the parts car. I did get some decent results, but I could still see the damaged area...but I guess anything would be better than what I see right now, maybe I'll go out on a limb and give it a try on this one. 🤔 The mylar seems to work well, it's definitely tough enough, I don't know if the reflective side will make any difference, likely as well as the sound deadening with a reflective coating stuff does. If I tackle the door pull, I'll video it, fingers crossed! Lol
Brilliant.
Thank you, it will last for a long time. 😃
Thank you as always. I’m intrigued with that Mylar product. Appreciate the education ~ Chuck
Hi Chuck, I figured it was worth a try, and maybe the reflexive coating will stop some heat transfer...either way, I feel it's an upgrade to the original coated paper dust shields.
@@J_R_Shop Indeed, seems like a very smart upgrade.
A real good tip that can be used on many older vehicle door cards etc etc. Thx Alvin
Yes, it could be used in many applications. 👍 Thank you Doug!
