The whole world should be grateful for these truly excellent performances of some of the greatest music ever written. I have done my part, living far away in the West of the USA, to support the wonderful work of Rudolf Lutz and the Bach-Stiftung.
Bravi ! Bravissimi !! Yet another glorious performance of these amazing soloists, orchestra and choir(!). Thank you Herr Lutz. You ALL are - as always - both meticulously PRECISE musically, as well as remarkably ENGAGED emotionally. This performance is yet again sooo full of POWER, utter 'SCHWUNG' and heartfelt LOVE for the notes and the words ... it moved me to happy tears. I honestly don't know how you do it though; maintaining this highest of standards in performance (and absolutely marvellous recording quality!!) on a business model that allows thousands of TH-cam viewers to enjoy these exquisite concerts ... FOR FREE! I can only thank you for this, and for restoring my faith in humanity. Also ... I'm in love with the beautiful Alto. But that's a whole other matter of course ...
Feliz Navidad JSBachStiftung!! Saludos desde Lima
It may be due to the alto part being sung by a countertenor rather than a female alto singer. With all due respect to alto Sängerinnen I think the timbre of a countertenor fits in better here.
My fave - the one that 'converted' me to Bach cantatas. The year was 2001, the place Blackwells Music in The Broad ... my interest piqued by a review in the Sunday Times, showing a quite unusual CD, the design very 'modern', mostly black & violet, with olive green and maroon - utterly devoid of the usual 'Baroque' imagery - wigs , palaces, antiquated instruments, and so forth - but, more to the point, artists totally unknown to me - Japanese, for goodness sake! To Oxford then did I wend (rather in haste) and there well met by the most erudite of assistants who revealed a whole rack of the CDs, brand new and safely in their cling-film. With such a cornucopia I had perforce to seek guidance - he proffered issue No.7, said I would not be disappointed, and I purchased without hesitation - hurried home in my charabanc, rushed indoors, tore off the cling-film and inserted the priceless plastic into the Technics player. Next moment, the scales fell from my eyes ....
It belongs to the set of Weimar's Kantates .The Weimar's 63 Kantate has been proppsed by Bach during Christmas in Leipzig(1723-1725) alpng with Feria I Nativitatis Domini
I LOVE and THANK YOU for so much beauty but would you perhaps consider not including the clapping? I have you (like many others) on my playlist and that sound .....my goshhh....
Coro: SCTB. Trompetas I-IV, timbales, oboes I-III, fagot, violines I/II, viola y continuo Texto original en alemán del título y Coro 1º (1 Coro [s,c,t,b]) ¡Christen, ätzet diesen Tag In Metall und Marmorsteine!
Absolutely splendid - but I'm not convinced by the 16' violone at the Weimar stage - especially in e.g. Nos 2 &3: I'd have preferred a bass violin type of instrument , perhaps with a G violone at 8'.

Perfection really exists... Glory to Bach in the Highest. :)
Only Bach!!! The final chorus piece is stunning!!!
SUPERB! what glorious joyous music in the most impeccable performance- THANK YOU
As usual, I am left speechless by this excellence. Thank you so very much.

Just sublime. Nothing else to say.
Bravo, what a performance, merci du Canada.
It is always a pleasure to watch the young people grow with this group. The young bass on the end obviously loved every performance over the years.
I totally agree. And say the same about Jan Borner, the countertenor.
I love the Bach Stiftung’s impeccable and passionate performances! 🙏
I'm stunned! A perfect performance.

Clever sound technician who edited out ever time the director hits the microphone stand...!
Exactly!!
Very beautiful and very briljant! Thanks again for your ultimate perfection! This performance is like a miracle.
Capolavoro assoluto della musica.
Absolut hervorragend aufgeführt! Vielen Dank!
Composições belas, interpretações maravilhosas! :) Que vozes, que Orquestra!
The recicitavo Alto He brings me to or reminds me of sounds emanating from the confines of a monastic order. It comes from within and it's beautiful.

Merci vielmal mitenand 💙

I approve

@1:50 judge everything by this! It's antiphonal and 3D❤

This is presumably the Leipzig version.

Skøn og velspillet musik og flot solo og korsang….
