Each Bach-Stiftung performance gives utter delight. Such immaculate phrasing, balance and overall elegance and poise guarantee a profound interpretation of these jewels of the master.

The soprano aria (8.) with the *pizzicati*, is particularly remarkable: so 'modern' in a Bach's cantata.
As always, a magical performance from the Bachstiftung! Thank you Maestro Lutz for sharing.
There are many stunning examples of instrumental playing throughout the Bachstiftung videos (the organist in BWV 35 and the violinist in BWV 66 spring to mind) and they are never, ever credited. It's unfortunate, to say the least. The implication seems to be that a person who makes music with his/her voice is somehow superior to a person who makes music with an instrument. It's the one real problem I have with an otherwise wonderful series of recordings.

La bravura degli interpreti fa diventare l'ascolto di un lavoro buono, pero' non eccelso (per il livello di JSBach, si intende) molto piacevole

I know right! I really, really love how she plays!
Also in that bass aria the harpsichord player excellently keeps up with the tempo, without loosing expression or phrase. I play a little organ and clavichord myself and thus deeply admire this man's skill. With regards to the cello, the regular cellist of the Dutch Bach Society, Lucia Swarts, is also a joy to hear. We are very lucky to live in an era with easy access to these extraordinary performances. In Bach's time you had only a few chances to hear his music, and most of the time you had to be a prince, a church official or the member of a Lutheran congregation. Nowadays one just has to click a few buttons.
Love the bass baritone in the second mvt. The cantatas are such personal statements. This one seems almost like a mini St Matthew Passion.

Grossartiges Ensemble. Die cellistin ist Weltklasse. Es ist immer ein Vergnügen, Frau Rubens singen zu hören (und zu sehen), aber auch die anderen Solisten sind erstklassig. Vielen dank für den Download, die Bachstiftung hat ab nun einen Fan mehr.
(und an yt: die Werbung dazwischen ist Irrsinn. Alles, was da beworben wird, steht bei mir auf einer negativliste.)
Absolut einverstanden. Wenn Werbung kommt, bin ich durstig auf Rache gegen einen Teil unserer Westlichen Welt, das unsere Werte billig verkauft hat, und die Menschen und das menschliche vergegenständlicht und ungebremst verblödet. Frau Rubens Auftritt ist die wahre Definition von Schönheit. Außergewöhnliche deutliche Sprechgestaltung für eine Sopranistin im ganzen Stimmumfang. Am transparentesten jedes Wort zu verstehen.
Exquisites, agiles, ausgeglichenes, und anmutiges Phrasieren und so ein sublimes Entzücken vom ihren Süßen, wundervollen Timbre ausgegeben, dass das klare Denken im Kopf durch einen blühenden Rausch ersetzt wird

the bass aria is really too fast, poor Peter Harvey is struggling to keep up (and he's definitely not a second-hand bass) -a rare slip-up from Lutz that is usually sensitive to his singers. The cellist is excellent though, she manages to include some beautiful phrasing among the flurry of notes!
At 19:01 I can imagine the bassoonist thinking, "I'm glad it's her and not me!" 😳
Or she's sad for missing out on the fun 😅
